Definitions
- the present invention relates to the printing of support for example type of business card, greeting card, postcard, paper end, thick paper, cardboard, packaging, envelope or other. More particularly, the invention relates to supports comprising a message that we wish all or part to be initially masked to the view of the reader, the latter eliminating a mask to make appear and read hidden information.
- the main disadvantage of this process lies in the fact that the production costs are high. This process is not economically interesting than for large series of cards, that is to say when a large number of cards with an area to be masked are produce.
- the scratch ink film is then placed in one place and according to a predefined pattern, which allows to automate production and reduce costs.
- Document DE 10145808 discloses a device two-layer security mask that adhere to each other temporarily and by WO 03/066344, a device secure occlusion device having an optically variable layer.
- These occultation devices include a film totally printed ink, whose lateral extension is equal to that of the mask, which makes approximate, for the user, the positioning exact device on the area to be masked. Therefore, this type of occultation devices seem unsuitable for use for supports such as greeting cards, visiting cards, etc. for which the exact and easy positioning of the device is sought.
- US 5,765,745 relates to a device of occultation allowing the inscription of the message to occult by a thermal printer. Besides the fact that the intrinsic structure of occultation device is complex so as to be able to register by thermal printing the message to hide, in this type of device, the lateral extension of the film corresponds to that of the support which has for consequence a significant use of film during production and therefore a high manufacturing cost.
- the invention therefore aims to propose a scratch support improved, a particular mask forming element for scratch support and a method for obtaining at lower cost the forming element mask.
- the subject of the invention is a scratch support comprising a sheet having at least one area to be masked on which is intended to be printed an information, and at least one mask element, each mask element consisting of a transparent film printed with a mask consisting of a scratch-off mark intended for covering an area to be masked, said mask being printed on a first face of said transparent film, a second face of said film transparency being intended to be glued to said sheet, said film transparency being partially printed from said mask so that said transparent film is interposed between said sheet and said mask, characterized in that the lateral extension of said transparent film is intermediate between the lateral extension of said mask and the extension side of said sheet, and in that said transparent film has a contour of cut that corresponds to the contour of the zone to be masked.
- the fact that the lateral extension of the transparent film is intermediate between the lateral extension of the mask and the lateral extension of the support makes it possible to make a saving in transparent film during the manufacture of the mask element.
- the fact that the film transparent has a contour of cut corresponding to the contour of the area to be masked allows each element forming a mask to be correctly positioned on the corresponding area to be masked.
- a marginal gripping zone is defined between the outline of the mask and the said cutting contour of the film transparent.
- said mask presents a complex geometric shape.
- said transparent film is a film of polyester.
- the second side of said transparent film is pre-glued with a material adhesive and covered with a peelable protective film, so that said pre-glued transparent film can be separated from said film before manual gluing or not, said transparent film on said sheet.
- the cutting contour of the film transparency is included in the cutting contour of the film peelable protection, the portion of peelable protective film included between the cutting contour of the transparent film and that of the film of peelable protection being covered or not with transparent film.
- said marginal gripping zone is keep on going.
- said marginal gripping zone has a width of 1 to 3 mm.
- the subject of the invention is also a forming element mask for a scratch support consisting of a transparent film printed with a mask consisting of a scratch mark, said mask being printed on a first side of said transparent film, a second face of said transparent film being intended to be glued on a sheet, said transparent film being partially printed from said mask, characterized in that the second side of said transparent film is pre-glued with an adhesive material and covered with a film of peelable protection, so that said pre-glued transparent film can be separated from said peelable protective film before manual bonding or no, said transparent film on said sheet and in that a zone of marginal grip is defined between the contour of the mask and said cutting contour of transparent film.
- said marginal gripping zone is continuous and preferably has a width of 1 to 3 mm.
- the possible stripping step makes it easier to take off, by the user, of the transparent film and the protection peelable.
- Print or “print” relating to the message or information to to hide will have to be interpreted broadly, that is, meaning register by conventional printing processes, manually or other.
- a card template 10 is chosen from a catalog of card templates. It is expected that this card model 10 can be personalized by means of a message 7, a part of which corresponds to a information 9 to be masked.
- the card template 10 has a zone 11 (FIG. 2) delimited by a predefined outline 13 to contain said information 9.
- the card template 10 is presented to the user, by example by putting it online via a telecommunication network 5, for example via the Internet.
- the user connecting to the site corresponding and wishing to order a series of scratch cards 1 according to the card model 10, is eventually invited to enter a message 7 to seize and to seize, in the area to be masked, a information 9 to mask.
- the information 9 must enter in the zone to be masked 11.
- the user is also invited to enter the quantity N of scratch card 1 that he wishes to receive.
- blank cards 12 are printed with graphics according to the card model 10.
- printing techniques are artwork.
- the raw material to produce the mask forming elements 27 is a sheet 21 for example sold in trade in the form of rolls.
- Sheet 21 consists of a transparent film 15 and a peelable protective film for example a support paper (not shown).
- the transparent film 15 is by example in polyester.
- One side of the transparent film 15, said second face 17, is pre-glued with an adhesive material.
- the second face 17 is placed opposite the backing paper to be protected.
- the paper medium is for example a waxed paper sticking only weakly to the layer of adhesive material covering the second face 17 of the film transparent 15.
- step a) of the process as the sheet 21 roll is unwound, a first face 19 of the transparent film 15, opposite to the second face 17 glued to the backing paper, is printed scratch ink 22.
- the scratch ink printing is performed on the entire width of the first face 19.
- the scratch ink is for example an ink type GO LENS OR B75 distributed by the companies ink manufacturer. It can also be a silver ink or colorful.
- the transparent film carries for example the reference 02850020, distributed by the manufacturers of adhesive labels.
- the technique used during this stage of forming the mask label maybe a standard printing technique for example by pad printing or screen printing. At the end of the training stage of a mask a), a completely printed transparent film 25, carried by the paper support, is obtained.
- the fully printed transparent film 25 then undergoes a cutting step b).
- the totally printed transparent film 25 is cut into a shape whose contour completely circumscribes the predefined contour 13 of the zone to be masked 11.
- a transparent film cut out totally printed or element forming mask 27 is obtained.
- the element forming mask 27 consists of a mask 23 and a transparent film 15 and is carried by the support paper (not shown).
- the support paper presents preferentially a cutting contour different from that of the film transparent, and this for all the embodiments described in the this request.
- N blank cards 12 of the selected card template 10 are eventually printed (step d) with the customization message 7 entered by the user.
- cards forming a support 14 are produced.
- these cards forming support 14 could be replaced by any type of sheet without going out of the scope of the invention, for example thin or thick paper sheet, in cardboard, packaging, envelope or other.
- the user can register manually message 7 of customization before gluing the mask member on the area to be masked.
- the card forming support 14 is printed message 7 personalization.
- the part of this message 7 forming the information 9 is printed inside the outline 13 of the zone to be masked 11.
- a mask element 27 largely covers the area to be masked 11.
- the mask element 27 is constituted by a transparent film 15 of which a first face 19 is completely covered with the mask 23 consisting of scratch ink.
- the second face 17 of the transparent film 15 is glued on the printed side 18 of the support card 14. It is understood, of course, and this for all the embodiments described herein, that if the support card has several areas to mask, an element forming mask can be glued vis-à-vis each zone to hide.
- the card template 10 is customizable as well as the message 7 customization as to the position and the contour 13 'of the zone to be masked.
- contour 13 'no longer being predefined, the shape of the mask 23 is no longer limited to a few simple geometric shapes, but may have a more complex form.
- the method starts with the cutting step b) of the sheet 21.
- the transparent film 15 and the paper are cut to a corresponding cutting contour at the peripheral edge 16 of the support card 14.
- a cut transparent film 31, carried by the paper support is obtained.
- a stock of such cut transparent films 31 can be made for the purpose of producing scratch cards quickly as soon as the order was made.
- the step of forming a mask a) a location As soon as the order is made and the contour 13 'of the zone to be masked 11 has been defined, the step of forming a mask a) a location. During this step, the cut transparent film 31 is partially printed scratch ink in a pattern corresponding to position and in shape at the outline 13 'of the zone to be masked. forming a mask 33 consisting of the cut transparent film and partially printed and a mask 23 is produced at the output of the step forming a mask a). At this point, the mask member 33 is carried by the support paper.
- N blank cards 12 are prepared according to the card model 10. Then, once the order has been placed, N blank cards 12 are possibly printed message 7 of customization to produce N cards forming support 14.
- the support paper is separated from the element forming a mask 33 so as to allow the contacting of the second face 17 pre-glued with the transparent film 15 with the face printed 18 corresponding to the card forming support 14. It is easy to position the mask member 33 relative to the card making support 14 since the film was cut according to the edge device 16 of the card. Therefore the whole map forming a support 14 must be covered by the mask element 33.
- the zone to be masked 11 is automatically covered by the printed mask on the first side 19 of the transparent film 15.
- N scratch cards are produced.
- Figure 5 is a sectional view of the scratch card the produced according to the steps of the second embodiment.
- the film transparent 15 covers the entire printed face 18 of the card 14.
- the scratch ink 23 is printed to form a mask on the first face 19 of the transparent film 15 so that that when the transparent film 15 is positioned relative to the card forming support 14, the mask 23 of scratch ink is correctly positioned relative to the map to cover the area to be masked 11.
- the step of forming a mask a) by printing a scratch ink mask occurs after the step of gluing e) the transparent film 15 on the map 14.
- the transparent film 15 can be cut to any cutting contour or advantageously according to a cutting contour which corresponds to the contour 13 'of the zone to be masked 11.
- the cutting contour must contain the zone to mask 11 and the contour 13 'defined by the user, but is included in the inside of the surface defined by the peripheral edge 16 of the card 14. This allows, among other things, to save the material first constituted by sheet 21.
- the lateral extension of the film 15 on the printed side 18 of the support card 14 is intermediate between that of the scratch card 1 of Figure 3 and that of the scratch card in Figure 5.
- a marginal gripping area 20 is defined between the contour of the mask 23 and the cutting contour of the transparent film 15.
- the marginal gripping zone 20 can be continuous or discontinuous and advantageously has a width of 1 to 3 mm.
- the marginal grip zone 20 allows the takeoff of the element forming mask 33 'by reducing the risk of tampering with the mask 23.
- the mask element 33 ' is consisting of the transparent film 15 cut according to a cutting contour which corresponds to the contour 13 'of the zone to be masked 11 and partially printed, on a first face, with a mask 23 so as to obtain a marginal gripping zone 20.
- the transparent film 15 is preferentially covered, on a second face, with a film of peelable protection (not shown) including cutout contour that of the transparent film 15.
- the portion of film transparent 15 between the cutting edge of the transparent film 15 and that of the peelable protection is removed by stripping so as to facilitate the take-off by the user of the transparent film 15 and the peelable protection.
- the scratch support can be produced either in the form a pre-assembled scratch support, either in the form of a kit made up of of a sheet 14 and a mask member 33 ', that the user can assemble, after manual registration of message 7 or information 9 to hide, by manual gluing of the forming element mask 33 'on the zone to be masked 11.
- the term information refers generally to any number, character, graphic design or similar.
