Definitions
- the invention relates to an electrical terminal in cutting-connection technology, in particular for snapping onto a mounting rail, with a housing, with terminals for insulated conductors, with at least one busbar, with at least two actuators and at least two cutting elements, wherein the actuating elements relative to the cutting elements are rotatably disposed in the electrical terminal and each having a provided for the conductors to be connected conductor receiving and the cutting elements make the electrical contact of an inserted into the conductor receiving conductor with the busbar.
- Electrical terminals especially terminal blocks, have been known for decades and are used a million times in the wiring of electrical equipment.
- the terminals are usually snapped onto mounting rails, which in turn are often arranged in a plurality in a control cabinet.
- the terminals are usually designed as connection terminals, so that they have at least two conductor connection elements which are electrically connected to one another via an electrically conductive connection rail, the busbar.
- connection terminals there are also a variety of different types of terminal blocks that are specially adapted to the particular application. As an example, two-level or three-level terminals as well as three-wire or four-wire terminals may be mentioned, which then each have a correspondingly larger number of conductor connection elements.
- tension spring terminals As conductor connection elements predominantly screw terminals or tension spring terminals are used in terminal blocks.
- the clamping principle with tension spring clamps is similar to that of screwdriving technology. While with the screw terminal a tension sleeve pulls the conductor against the current bar by the operation of the clamping screw, this task is taken over by the tension spring at the tension spring clamp.
- the prestressed tension spring is opened with an actuating tool, such as a screwdriver, so that the conductor can be inserted through a window in the spring leg of the tension spring in the terminal compartment. After removing the operating tool The conductor is pulled by the spring force of the tension spring against the current bar.
- the electrical conductor must first be stripped after cutting before the contact of the electrical conductor can take place. Since special tools are required for the stripping of the electrical conductor and since the stripping takes a relatively long time, also electrical terminals are used for many years, can be connected to the electrical conductors without prior stripping.
- the insulated conductor is inserted into a conductor receptacle in the housing of the clamp and then pressed into a cutting element, whereby the insulation of the conductor is severed and the soul of the conductor is contacted by the cutting element.
- Such terminals for connecting non-stripped conductors These differ in particular in how the introduced into the conductor receiving conductor is pressed into the cutting element.
- the present invention is therefore an object of the invention to provide an electrical terminal described in cutting-line technology available, which in a simple construction as possible, a good and safe Guaranteed handling and beyond, if possible, has a small size.
- a recess is preferably formed in the actuating elements and are arranged in the interior of the housing corresponding ribs.
- the guide of the actuating element can thereby be further improved in that a radial projection is formed on the end face of the actuating element above the recess, which is supported during pivoting of the actuating element from the insertion position into the contact position on the rib.
- the support or guide of the actuating element thus takes place both in the side wall and in the interior of the housing.
- the rib in the interior of the housing is designed and arranged so that the rib also acts as a strain relief for an inserted conductor is particularly advantageous. This is achieved in that in the second position (contact position) of the actuating element, an inserted into the conductor receiving conductor is clamped or fixed by the rib.
- an appropriate dimensioning of the rib can be ensured that in the clamping of the conductor, only the insulation of the conductor and not its soul is pressed.
- a "immobilization" of the contact point of the electrical conductor or the soul is ensured with the cutting element.
- the problem occurring in practice is counteracted that it comes due to tensile stresses on the electrical conductors to a small relative movement between the electrical conductor and the cutting element, which can lead to oxidation and a high contact resistance.
- the actuator for easy handling of the electrical terminal, both in a first position in which the insertion of an incoming conductor is possible (insertion), as well as in a second position in which the conductor through the cutting element is contacted (contact position), to be locked.
- ribs are formed in the upper region of the actuating element on one end face, which form a latching with the upper edge of the clamp.
- the desired small size of the electrical terminal is first - in terms of height - by the formation of relatively small pin instead of the relatively large, wheel-like guides in the off DE 199 21 775 A1 reached known terminal.
- the width of the clamp according to the invention can be reduced by the fact that in the particularly preferred double guide the actuators both by the pins and the slots and by the ribs in conjunction with the recesses, the wall thickness of the side wall can be very low.
- the width can be further reduced by the fact that the conductor receiving, which is preferably formed as a slot, has an open longitudinal side. Thereby, the width of the actuating element - and thus also the total width of the electrical terminal - can be reduced without reducing the maximum cross section of the conductors to be connected.
- the in the Fig. 1 and 2 illustrated electrical terminal 1 initially consists of a housing 2, wherein in the figures, a connection terminal is shown for two conductors to be connected. It goes without saying that the electrical terminal according to the invention can also be designed as a three-wire or four-wire connection terminal.
- the electrical terminals 1 In the housing 2 of the electrical terminal 1 are a busbar 3 and two actuators. 4 arranged.
- the electrical terminals 1 each have two cutting elements 5, which are each electrically connected by the busbar 3.
- the actuating elements 4, each having a conductor receptacle 6 for - not shown here - to be connected conductors are rotatably arranged relative to the cutting elements 5 in the housing 2 of the electrical terminal 1, so that the actuating elements 4 from a first position in which Insertion of an incoming conductor into the conductor receptacle 6 is possible (insertion position), in a second position in which the conductors are contacted by the cutting elements 5 (contact position), can be pivoted.
- insertion position Insertion of an incoming conductor into the conductor receptacle 6 is possible
- Fig. 1 Of the Fig. 1 can be seen that the two slots 11, 12 are arranged in the side wall 10 of the housing 2, that the longitudinal axes of the two slots 11, 12 are approximately perpendicular to each other. As a result, a particularly good guidance of the actuating element 4 in the housing 2 of the electrical terminal 1 is ensured.
- the guide or storage of the actuating element 4 in the housing 2 is further improved in that in the actuating element 4, a recess 13 is formed and in the interior of the housing 2 a corresponding Ridge 14 is arranged, wherein the rib 14 during pivoting of the actuating element from the insertion position - left side of in Fig. 1 illustrated electrical terminal 1 - in the contact position - right side of in Fig. 2 illustrated electrical terminal 1 - engages in the recess 13.
- both the recess 13 and the rib 14 are circular arc-shaped, so that the pivotal movement of the actuating element 4 is not affected by the interaction of recess 13 and rib 14.
- the actuator 4 undergoes an additional guide by the interaction of recess 13 and rib 14.
- This guide can be further improved by the fact that on the end face 15, on which the recess 13 is formed, a radial projection 16 is formed in the form of a nose, which is supported during pivoting of the actuating element 4 in the contact position on the rib 14.
- the rib 14 described above serves - in conjunction with the recess 13 - not only to guide the actuating element 4, but at the same time as a strain relief for an inserted into the conductor receiving 6 conductor. This is achieved in that the front edge of the rib 14 slightly protrudes in the contact position of the actuating element 4 in the conductor receiving 6, whereby a connected conductor is clamped. By means of this clamping of a connected conductor, an "immobilization" of the contact point between the cutting element 5 and the connected conductor is achieved. How the particular Fig. 1 can be removed, the ribs 14 are arranged in the housing 2 just above the cutting elements 5. Thus, the desired strain relief is realized as close to the contact point of the inserted conductor with the cutting element 5.
- ribs 17 are formed in the upper region, which together with the upper edge of the housing 2 form a two-stage latching.
- the conductor receiving 6 is formed as a slot and ends in a receiving pocket 18, wherein the receiving pocket 18 is disposed in the assembled state of the actuating element 4 in the electrical terminal 1 below the cutting element 5. If the end of the conductor is inserted into the receiving pocket 18, then it is ensured that upon pivoting of the actuating element 4 in the contact position of the conductor of the cutting element. 5 properly detected and thus the soul of the conductor is electrically contacted.
- the conductor receptacle 6 on an open longitudinal side, whereby the width of the actuating element 4, with unchanged maximum cross section of a conductor to be connected, can be reduced.
- the guidance of the conductor to be connected is then realized on this side by the side wall 10 of the housing 2.
- a further receptacle 19 is provided for engaging an aid in the actuator 4.
- the tool may be, for example, the tip of a screwdriver, which is inserted into the receptacle 19, so that then with the help of the screwdriver, the actuator 4 from the first position to the second position, or vice versa, can be spent.

Description
The invention relates to an electrical terminal in cutting-connection technology, in particular for snapping onto a mounting rail, with a housing, with terminals for insulated conductors, with at least one busbar, with at least two actuators and at least two cutting elements, wherein the actuating elements relative to the cutting elements are rotatably disposed in the electrical terminal and each having a provided for the conductors to be connected conductor receiving and the cutting elements make the electrical contact of an inserted into the conductor receiving conductor with the busbar.
Electrical terminals, especially terminal blocks, have been known for decades and are used a million times in the wiring of electrical equipment. The terminals are usually snapped onto mounting rails, which in turn are often arranged in a plurality in a control cabinet. The terminals are usually designed as connection terminals, so that they have at least two conductor connection elements which are electrically connected to one another via an electrically conductive connection rail, the busbar. In addition to this basic type of terminal blocks, there are also a variety of different types of terminal blocks that are specially adapted to the particular application. As an example, two-level or three-level terminals as well as three-wire or four-wire terminals may be mentioned, which then each have a correspondingly larger number of conductor connection elements.
As conductor connection elements predominantly screw terminals or tension spring terminals are used in terminal blocks. The clamping principle with tension spring clamps is similar to that of screwdriving technology. While with the screw terminal a tension sleeve pulls the conductor against the current bar by the operation of the clamping screw, this task is taken over by the tension spring at the tension spring clamp. For this purpose, the prestressed tension spring is opened with an actuating tool, such as a screwdriver, so that the conductor can be inserted through a window in the spring leg of the tension spring in the terminal compartment. After removing the operating tool The conductor is pulled by the spring force of the tension spring against the current bar.
Both in the screw and the tension spring clamp, the electrical conductor must first be stripped after cutting before the contact of the electrical conductor can take place. Since special tools are required for the stripping of the electrical conductor and since the stripping takes a relatively long time, also electrical terminals are used for many years, can be connected to the electrical conductors without prior stripping. For this purpose, the insulated conductor is inserted into a conductor receptacle in the housing of the clamp and then pressed into a cutting element, whereby the insulation of the conductor is severed and the soul of the conductor is contacted by the cutting element. There are a variety of possible embodiments of such terminals for connecting non-stripped conductors. These differ in particular in how the introduced into the conductor receiving conductor is pressed into the cutting element.

The present invention is therefore an object of the invention to provide an electrical terminal described in cutting-line technology available, which in a simple construction as possible, a good and safe Guaranteed handling and beyond, if possible, has a small size.
This object is achieved in the electrical terminal according to the invention with the features of
In addition to the guide according to the invention of the actuating element by the interaction of the pins with the oblong holes, a recess is preferably formed in the actuating elements and are arranged in the interior of the housing corresponding ribs. When pivoting the actuating element from the first position (insertion) to the second position (contact position) then engage the ribs in the recesses in the actuators. Thus, an additional guidance of the actuating element during pivoting is achieved by the engagement of the rib in the recess. The guide of the actuating element can thereby be further improved in that a radial projection is formed on the end face of the actuating element above the recess, which is supported during pivoting of the actuating element from the insertion position into the contact position on the rib. In the preferred embodiment of the electrical clamp according to the invention described above, the support or guide of the actuating element thus takes place both in the side wall and in the interior of the housing. As a result, a particularly secure guidance of the actuating element is ensured, so that even high Beschaltungskräfte be controlled when contacting conductors with a relatively large cross-section.
It when the previously described rib in the interior of the housing is designed and arranged so that the rib also acts as a strain relief for an inserted conductor is particularly advantageous. This is achieved in that in the second position (contact position) of the actuating element, an inserted into the conductor receiving conductor is clamped or fixed by the rib. By an appropriate dimensioning of the rib can be ensured that in the clamping of the conductor, only the insulation of the conductor and not its soul is pressed. By such a clamping of the connected electrical conductor a "immobilization" of the contact point of the electrical conductor or the soul is ensured with the cutting element. As a result, the problem occurring in practice is counteracted that it comes due to tensile stresses on the electrical conductors to a small relative movement between the electrical conductor and the cutting element, which can lead to oxidation and a high contact resistance.
For easy handling of the electrical terminal, the actuator according to a preferred embodiment of the electrical terminal according to the invention both in a first position in which the insertion of an incoming conductor is possible (insertion), as well as in a second position in which the conductor through the cutting element is contacted (contact position), to be locked. For this purpose, ribs are formed in the upper region of the actuating element on one end face, which form a latching with the upper edge of the clamp. There is the possibility of fixing the electrical clamp when delivering it to the customer in the first position, the insertion position, so that at Connecting individual electrical conductors to a plurality of juxtaposed on a DIN rail clamped electrical terminals, the respective ladder can be easily inserted by the installer in the respective conductor receptacles. The possibility of locking in the second position, the contact position prevents a once connected electrical conductor - unintentionally - can be pulled out of the electrical terminal again.
