So kann z.B. ein Handlauf aus Holz-, Kunststoff- oder Metallrohren zusammengestellt werden, die besonders an Ecken oder Übergängen durch spezielle Übergangs- oder Zwischenstücke miteinander verbunden werden. Hierzu müssen z.B. als Kugelgelenk oder Rundung ausgebildete Zwischenstücke an den geraden Abschnitten befestigt werden. Auch am Anfang und Ende des Handlaufs müssen geeignete Abschlusselemente vorgesehen sein.
