Description

The present invention relates to a luminaire with a tubular gas discharge lamp and a concave curved reflector, in front of which light influencing elements are arranged on both sides of the lamp.

A generic lamp is known for example from DE 100 06 410 A1 of the applicant and will be explained below with reference to FIG. 3 briefly. The individual elements of the lamp 100 are arranged within a box-shaped lamp housing 107, which is sunk during assembly of the lamp in the ceiling of a room to be illuminated. As the light source is a rod-shaped gas discharge lamp 101, below or - seen in the emission direction - in front of a consisting of side reflectors and cross blades grid 106 is arranged. The majority of the light emitted by the lamp 101 is emitted via this grid 106 downwards.

The gas discharge lamp 101 is further straddled by a concave reflector 102, the side wings of which are arranged substantially next to the lamp 101. In front of the side wings of the reflector 102 and thus also on both sides next to the lamp 101, a diffuser 103 is arranged, which together with the reflector 102 includes two laterally adjacent to the lamp 101 so-called light chambers 104. For this purpose, the diffuser 103 and the reflector 102 converge at their ends remote from the lamp 101, respectively.

A portion of the light emitted by the lamp 101 is coupled via the so-called light entry surfaces provided with the reference numeral 105 into the two light chambers 104, reflected on the reflector 102 and emitted via the diffuser 103 downwards. As a result, the area of the luminaire 100 surrounding the luminous grid 106 is likewise slightly brightened, as a result of which a visually appealing lighting effect is achieved. The special configuration of the light chambers 104 has the consequence that the desired optical effect is achieved even at a very low height or depth of the lamp housing 107. For example, the ratio of the width a of a light chamber 104 to the height b of the light entrance surface 105 is in the range of approximately 4: 1.

Although this known lamp due to the excellent optical properties found wide acceptance and in a variety of Application has proven successful, there are efforts to simplify the construction of the lamp on. As shown in Figure 3, the diffuser 103 is integrally formed in the known lamp and forms a self-supporting plastic part. The plastic part is concavely curved in its two side areas and has a central Ausknickung, which connects the curved side areas together and surrounds the lamp 101 in its upper region. The side areas of the buckling thereby form the light entry surfaces 105 for the two light chambers 104. Such a plastic part is manufactured, for example, from polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) by injection molding.

The one-piece design of the diffuser is considered disadvantageous insofar as this limits the possibilities of varying the dimensions of the luminaire. The reason for this is that for the production of the one-piece diffuser a specially prefabricated tool is required, which is only suitable for the production of the diffuser in these specific dimensions. If a luminaire with other dimensions is to be produced, then another tool for producing a corresponding plastic part with the new dimensions would have to be provided for this purpose, which, however, would considerably increase the manufacturing costs for the luminaire as a whole.

Another disadvantage is that the one-piece diffuser in the specific form shown can only be made of PMMA. However, this material does not meet the relevant fire safety requirements in some countries of the European Union (eg France). To comply with this, the diffuser should consist of the somewhat more resistant material polycarbonate (PC). Although it is possible to produce PC plastic parts by injection molding, but this in turn would have its own tool can be used because polycarbonate has a different shrinkage behavior than PMMA and thus the dimensions would not correspond to the standard after cooling of the plastic part.

Another problem with the one-piece design of the diffuser 103 is further that it can lead to heat accumulation in the area surrounding the lamp 101, which among other things leads to a reduction of the luminaire performance.

The present invention is therefore based on the object; to provide a lamp of the type described above, with the same lighting effects as in the known lamp can be achieved, but the aforementioned disadvantages are avoided. It should still be a simple Assembly of the various components within the luminaire housing are made possible.

The object is achieved by a luminaire, which has the features of claim 1, or by a mounting element according to claim 19.

The lamp according to the invention initially has a arranged in a lamp housing tubular gas discharge lamp, the lamp cross and with its side areas - seen from the area to be illuminated - arranged on both sides of the lamp concave reflector and also on both sides next to the lamp but before the reflector arranged light influencing elements. According to the invention, the reflector and the light influencing elements are joined together by means of at least one mounting element to form a unit which can be mounted or dismounted as a whole in the luminaire housing.

According to the present invention, a structural unit is thus created by the use of the novel mounting element, the central elements of the reflector and the two lateral light influencing elements - which may be in particular diffusers - are and the whole removed from the luminaire housing or in this can be used. The installation of the lamp as a whole is thus very simple.

The use of the mounting element according to the invention makes it possible to form the diffuser - in contrast to the known lamp - from two separate components. It is therefore no longer necessary to use a one-piece, complex plastic part, which is why the cost of producing the lamp is extremely reduced. In particular, it is possible to form the arranged on both sides of the lamp diffuser of flat plates. However, the novel design of the luminaire now also makes it possible to use other light influencing means, for example perforated plates or prismatic panes, instead of diffuser panes, as radiating elements for the two light chambers. There are thus additional possibilities for the design of the luminaire, which opens up further fields of application.

A further advantage deriving from the design according to the invention consists in the fact that the light entry surfaces provided with the reference symbol 105 in FIG. 3 are no longer covered, that is to say in addition to the lamp arranged light chambers are open to the tubular gas discharge lamp. On the one hand, this increases the proportion of light which is coupled into the light chambers, and on the other hand, heat accumulation in the region of the lamp and thus a loss of efficiency and a lower light output can be avoided.

The mounting element according to the invention, preferably two of which are used to form the structural unit, is preferably designed bow-shaped and consists of two laterally projecting side arms for holding the reflector and a middle region connecting the side arms together. The side arms can each be concavely curved and hold the reflector in the desired shape or determine the curvature of the reflector. The middle region may have two feet arranged perpendicular to the extension direction of the side arms, which in the assembled state are arranged on both sides next to the gas discharge lamp and have holding means for holding further light-influencing elements. These holding means can be realized in the form of slots, in which the other light influencing elements can be inserted. For example, this makes it possible to arrange color filters in the two transitional regions to the light chambers and to thereby give the light emitted via the light chambers a different hue.

The feet of the bow-shaped mounting member further preferably have projections into which the light influencing elements arranged next to the lamp can be suspended. In their end regions facing away from the lamp, the light-influencing elements are then preferably clamped to the reflector, so that the desired assembly of reflector, diffusers and mounting elements is achieved.

In front of the lamp, a further light-influencing element can also be arranged, which may in particular be a luminaire grid or a perforated plate. Also, this element is preferably clipped to the underside of the mounting member, so that no further fastening means are required.

Overall, therefore, a lamp is created, which opens at least the same possibilities as the known light shown in Figure 3 in terms of their lighting properties, but the present lamp can be made easier and cheaper. At the same time created a way to easily mount the essential components of the lamp in a housing.

Before the luminaire according to the invention is discussed in its entirety, the central element of the present invention, namely the assembly element responsible for the formation of the structural unit, will first of all be explained with reference to FIG.

The bow-shaped and preferably made of metal mounting element 10 shown in Figure 1 consists of a central region 11 from which two side arms 12 extend laterally. The side arms 12 are slightly concave curved and have at their ends in each case rotatable latching wings 13, which are provided for latching with the reflector.

The middle region 11 consists of two feet 14 which are arranged perpendicular to the extension direction of the side arms 12 and which have latching hooks or projections 16 for holding the light influencing elements terminating the light chambers at their lower end regions. The feet 14 are arranged in the assembled state of the assembly on both sides next to the lamp or the lamps and also have two extending in the longitudinal direction of the feet slit 15, in which additional light influencing elements can be inserted. These inserted light influencing elements are then in the assembled state in the transition region from the light sources to the light chambers and thus influence the light emitted via the light chambers. Preferably, 15 color filters are inserted into the slots, whereby the two light chambers appear in a changed compared to the directly emitted light of the lamps hue.

In the upper region of the central part 11, a fastening tab 17 is further provided, with the aid of the mounting member 10 and thus the entire of the Mounting elements, the reflector and the light influencing elements existing unit can be anchored in a light housing.

The operation of the mounting member 10 is clear in Figure 2, which shows the lamp 1 according to the invention in its entirety. As an exemplary embodiment while a ceiling light is shown, the elements are arranged in a box-shaped lamp housing 20, which is sunk by means of - not shown - mounting means in the ceiling of a room to be illuminated.

The light source is a gas discharge lamp 2, under which a consisting of side reflectors and cross blades light grid 6 is arranged. As in the case of the known luminaire shown in FIG. 3, a large part of the light emitted by the lamp 1, which is preferably a fluorescent lamp, is emitted downwards via the grid 6, the structures and dimensions of the reflectors and laminates being selected in such a way are that this downwardly emitted light is to some degree cross-faded. The luminaire according to the invention is therefore particularly suitable for illuminating rooms with VDU workstations, since dazzling effects on screen surfaces as well as persons present in the room are largely avoided.

Instead of the illustrated grid 6, a perforated plate, which is deposited for example with foils, or other optical elements could be used, for example diffusers or prismatic structures. Furthermore, of course, it is also possible to equip the lamp 1 with a plurality of gas discharge lamps.

On both sides next to the lamp 2 there are two light chambers 5, over which a further part of the light emitted by the lamp 2 is emitted. The light chambers 5 are first formed by a reflector 3, which engages over the central region of the lamp 1 with the lamp 2 and with its two side areas - seen from the area to be illuminated - next to the lamp 1 is arranged. A diffuser plate 4 is arranged in each case in front of the side areas of the reflector 3, wherein the reflector 3 and the two diffuser plates 4 converge at the ends remote from the lamp 2 and thus enclose the light chambers 5. The light entry surfaces for the two light chambers 5 are each bounded by the upper edges of the grid 6 and the reflector 3. Since the diffuser plates 4 each extend to the upper edge of the corresponding side wall of the grid 6, it is avoided that the above Grid arranged lamp 2 seen from the side can be viewed directly and thus dazzling effects arise.

The arrangement and mounting of the reflector 3 and the diffusers 4 in the manner shown takes place primarily by two distributed in the longitudinal direction of the lamp 2 arranged mounting elements 10. The mounting elements 10 thereby pass through two arranged in the reflector 3 slots such that they with their Side arms 12 are arranged above the reflector 3 and with their feet 14 below the reflector 3. An attachment of the reflector 3 to the mounting elements 10 takes place with the aid of the latching wings 13, which pass through additional latching slots in the reflector 3 and lock after twisting the same with this.

An essential feature of this arrangement is that the side wings 12 of the mounting elements 10 rest on the top of the reflector 3 and maintain or determine the curvature of the reflector. As a result, the reflector 3 is curved under bias whereby it is also able to hold the diffuser plates 4 at their outer areas at the same time. For this purpose, the reflector 3 in its end regions Umkröpfungen 3a, in which the end portions of the diffuser plates 4 can engage. At their ends facing the lamp 2, however, the diffuser plates 4 engage with their edge regions 4a in the latching projections 16 of the mounting element 10. Overall, this one consisting of the two mounting elements 10, the reflector 3 and the two diffuser plates 4 assembly is formed, which can be used as a whole in the housing 20 of the lamp 1 and mounted or disassembled. The anchoring of this structural unit in the housing 20 takes place on the one hand by the mounting elements 10 and their mounting tabs 17 and on the other by the two edge portions 3a of the reflector 3, which engage in corresponding recesses 21 of the housing 20.

The formation of the unit thus a very simple assembly and disassembly of the lamp 1 is possible. After assembly of the assembly in the lamp housing 20 arranged on both sides of the lamp 2 light chambers 5 are formed over which a part of the light emitted by the lamp 2 is emitted laterally. The transition of the light beams from the area with the lamp 2 in the lateral light chambers 5 is initially unhindered, since - apart from the feet 14 of the mounting elements 10, no further elements next to the lamp 2 are arranged. However, it is possible to insert 10 elongated color filter in the slots of the feet 14 of the mounting elements, so the light passing into the light chambers 5 is changed in color. The area surrounding the light grid 6 thus appears in a different hue, whereby attractive lighting effects can be achieved. Even with inserted color filters, however, no airtight completion of the area surrounding the lamp 2 is achieved, so that a better heat exchange is still achieved in comparison to the known luminaire in FIG. 3 and thus losses in the luminous power are reduced.

An advantage of the equipment according to the invention is, in particular, that the two diffusers 4 can be formed from plastic plates which no longer have to be produced by injection molding. As a result, luminaires in various dimensions can be realized without additional cost, since the cutting of plastic plates in the desired sizes is much easier to perform. In addition, the diffuser plates can now optionally be made of PMMA or PC. Alternatively, however, it is also possible to use other light influencing elements, for example prismatic disks or perforated sheets, instead of diffuser disks.

Overall, a luminaire is thus created by the present invention, which is comparable in terms of their lighting properties with the previously known lamp. Also, the appearance of the present lamp is substantially similar to the already known lamp, but the production is significantly simplified and made cheaper by the present invention. In addition, the assembly and disassembly of the lamp is made particularly simple and elegant by the assembly according to the invention.
