Definitions

  • the invention relates to a method for saving energy in devices from a service provider which, with the aid of these devices, provides a service in at least partially sequential order to a plurality of employees, in which an appointment, in particular a variable one
  • an employee is entered in a queue at the service provider and an address of the employee in a telecommunications network is assigned to this appointment.
  • the invention relates to a device for performing the method according to the invention.
  • Service providers are often faced with the problem that a service provider, possibly despite making an appointment, is not ready to use a service. This applies in particular to service providers who work through the employees in at least partially sequential order. It is also aggravating if the time for the provision of a service cannot be estimated or can only be estimated with difficulty, which makes a concrete scheduling impossible.
  • a problem that arises here is that devices with the aid of which a service is rendered consume energy even during downtimes.
  • An example of a service provider for whom this is often the case is a doctor or a Hospital that requires various devices to provide its services to the patient, for example X-ray devices, ultrasound devices, computer tomographs, devices in an operating room, etc.
  • X-ray devices for example X-ray devices, ultrasound devices, computer tomographs, devices in an operating room, etc.
  • the essence of these devices is that usually only one patient can be examined or treated with them at a time, which is why a sequential order must be made for several patients.
  • a service provider is a transport company, such as an airline, which can only process its passengers at the counter in sequential order.
  • the devices required for the service include electronic scales, conveyor belts, card readers, computers, etc.
  • an authority is given that only provides a service to the citizen in a sequential order and that requires devices such as computers, printers, typewriters and calculators, as well as general office equipment.
  • the devices that are required for a service provision can also be secondary devices that are not directly involved in the service provision per se, but can nevertheless be assigned to a service provider and are related to the service provision.
  • the lighting and heating or cooling for the service provider's premises is also mentioned, which permanently uses energy, regardless of whether a service is currently being provided or not.
  • a hairdresser is mentioned as a further example of a service provider who can also only work through customers in sequential order.
  • the problem of unnecessary energy consumption is less obvious than in the examples mentioned above, since, for example, an electric hair clipper does not actually use any energy when it is switched off.
  • the problem of secondary energy-consuming facilities applies here equally.
  • a service provider does not necessarily have to be people in the actual sense.
  • a machine can also be provided as a service provider which, due to its design, essentially processes the employees sequentially.
  • Submodules of the machine can be understood as devices for the provision of the service.
  • An example of this is a car wash, for example, which is usually only intended for the sequential washing of several cars.
  • Energy-consuming submodules include pumps, compressors and various motors, as well as the control of the car wash.
  • Another example is an unloading system that deletes the load on freight trains or ships, such as containers, and automatically loads them onto trucks.
  • the unloading system is to be seen as a service provider, the lorries as employees, and the loading process represents the service to be performed sequentially. Even with an unloading system it is obvious that various facilities consume unnecessary energy permanently, i.e. also in a standby state.
  • a service provider can generally be divided into sequentially operating sub-service providers if the employees are also processed in parallel, viewed globally.
  • An example of this is a hospital that, although viewed globally, can of course treat several patients at the same time, but can be divided into individual departments, treatment rooms or devices in which, or with the help of, the patients are treated sequentially.
  • a service can temporarily be provided to several employees at the same time, without the fact that the fact of the increased energy consumption could be called into question.
  • Warming up and cooling down processes generally have a negative impact on the expected service life of a device.
  • the lighting, heating or cooling for the service provider's premises permanently uses energy, regardless of whether a service is currently being provided or not.
  • Another solution is therefore to ensure that the employees are ready to use a service in a sequential sequence that is as complete as possible. This should avoid unnecessary downtime in which energy has been consumed as shown.
  • a number of methods are known from the prior art for ranking the employees, such as the assignment of numbers by the service provider and the sequential calling of these numbers.
  • Systems of this type require the physical presence of the employee at the service provider, at least for number output and when an appointment is actually made.
  • employees leave the premises of the service provider especially when there are long waiting times and may therefore not be present when they are called up.
  • Service providers are therefore once again faced with the problem that a service provider is not ready to use a service, possibly despite making an appointment. This applies in particular to changing appointments, i.e. if an appointment is brought forward for certain reasons while an employee is absent.
  • Methods are therefore also known in which an address of the employee in a telecommunications network is assigned to an appointment and a worker is informed of the actual occurrence of an appointment via this address. Examples of this include flight information systems or information systems for buses and trains, which use the Short Message Service, or SMS, to inform passengers or passengers about possible delays or the forwarding of a means of transport.
  • SMS Short Message Service
  • the notification is often made at a point in time when certain activities during the absence are no longer optimal by the employee can be coordinated so that an appointment cannot be taken. It is conceivable, for example, that a worker misses the departure of public transport to the service provider, which he would have to use for the timely arrival, because he was informed about an appointment too late, even if this is also done via telecommunications equipment.
  • Queue systems of this type are also known from the field of information centers. Here is a call of one
  • the invention is therefore based on the object of specifying a method and a device for saving energy in the case of devices from a service provider, in which the employees are ready to use a service in a largely seamless sequential sequence.
  • a waiting time is assigned to this in the queue, which the employee needs to get to the employee.

  • the travel time and possibly a tolerance time, for example ten minutes, are subtracted from the time of the appointment in order to determine the transmission time. In principle, other methods are also conceivable.
  • a call from a voice machine to the specified address is conceivable, on the one hand, and the transmission of a text message, on the other hand, due to the abundance of possibilities, only a few examples are mentioned here, such as an SMS message or an email.
  • the display of the corresponding page is not initiated by the user of the display device, ie in this case the employee, but is initiated by the service provider.

  • the system can either be used as a mere reminder of fixed appointments, or for the efficient coordination of changing appointments, as is often the case with doctors, offices, hospitals and other positions with a similar character, whereby it is again pointed out that it is a service provider does not necessarily have to be a person, but that a service provider can also be understood as an automaton.
  • An example of this would be an appointment coordination for the car wash or unloading system already mentioned.
  • the service provider does not necessarily have to be a subscriber in a telecommunications network. Rather, the system on which the method according to the invention is running merely has to provide a possibility of sending a message to an address in a telecommunications network. Finally, instead of a single address, several addresses can be specified to which a message is sent.
