Abstract

Part of a lock of hair is rolled up around a support (10) forming a curl around it. One end of the lock is held in a resiliently-deformed slot (4) in the support. The capillary product is applied onto the lock, coating at least part (9) of it, which is rolled around the outer periphery (5) of the support.

Description

The present invention relates to a method of partial application of a hair product on strands. The advantage of this invention is that it allows to apply such a product at different levels on locks, and thus to obtain a visual effect of alternation between coated areas, and therefore treated, and untreated areas.

In the state of the art, it is known devices and methods for obtaining the coating of a hair product, including discoloration and or coloration, on a lock of hair, especially along its length. Generally for making such wicks, and according to one of the simplest techniques, the wick is placed on a pallet. The product is applied over the entire length of the wick by means of a brush. The locks are left in the open air and separated from the rest of the hair by cotton bands placed at the roots of the hair. After a suitable exposure time, the hair is washed in a conventional manner. The method is long and tedious. In addition, the treated locks are inevitably brought into contact with the rest of the hair, which compromises to a large extent the aesthetics of the result.

Document is also known US 5992425 , a foam roller which can be impregnated with a hair product and on which the wick is wound in order to coat the wick product over its entire winding length.

There is a need to make patterns in the hair which are different from the simple alternation of treated locks and untreated locks and which bring a new visual effect.

For reasons in the middle of the hair, we know the document US 5664590 , the use of stencils for delineating areas of the hair to be coated to obtain the desired pattern. However such stencils are not easy to position correctly relative to the hair. Moreover, it is difficult using these stencils to reproduce the same pattern with a certain regularity of shape and spacing on the entire hair. Document is also known DE 41,22,539 , a curler around which is carried a helical winding of the wick, this hair curler then being inserted in a pierced shell longitudinally. A longitudinal opening of the shell thus gives access to visible portions of loops of the wick. If the wick is regularly wound, then the visible portions will be evenly spaced along the wick. In the manner of a stencil, product can then be applied to these visible portions of the loop.

An object of the invention is to propose a solution making it possible to obtain at a lower cost the possibility of producing the same pattern at different levels of the same wick, without coating the wick in its entirety, by considering said wick from the roots to the tips. We can thus obtain new and original effects on locks of hair.

The subject of the invention is a process for applying a hair product to a lock of hair comprising the following steps:
  • a portion of the wick is wrapped around a support made of an elastically deformable material so as to form at least one loop around the support,
  • a first end of the wick is retained in a first elastically deformable notch of the support,
  • and applying the hair product to the wick so as to coat at least a portion of this wick portion wound on the outer periphery of the support.

Preferably, this elastically deformable notch preferably comprises two substantially contiguous edges able to move elastically apart from one another to allow the introduction of the first end of the wick, this end being then retained by the return force. elastic of these two edges tending to regain their substantially contiguous disposition.

Preferably, in order to apply the product, an application means capable of loading in at least a quantity of this product is used, this application means then being applied on the outer periphery of the support, in particular on at least one of the zones of this outer periphery covered with a portion of said wick.

Preferably, the support is surrounded with the wick portion so as to have a plurality of loops wound spirally, not superimposed, around the support.

Advantageously, the outer periphery of the support is coated in a strip parallel to a main axis of elongation of the support. Thus each loop of the wick portion which is at the intersection of this band is coated with product in an identical width from one loop to another. In addition, insofar as the portion of wick is wound homogeneously on the support, and in the case where the support is of constant section, the portion of wick once unwound then comprises several coated areas of the same height, considering the height relative to the axis of the wick, these areas being distributed at regular intervals along the wick. These zones are spaced from each other on the same bit of the same spacing, the distance represented by this spacing being greater than the outer perimeter of the support to which the width of the strip has been subtracted.

Alternatively, the product may be applied to the outer periphery of the support in a spiral, or any other path, particularly in the case where the portion of wick is wound homogeneously on this support, we obtain a first spacing between two areas consecutive coated surfaces and a second spacing between two other consecutive coated areas, such that this second spacing is different from the first spacing. Generally the areas coated with said wick form strips, and the spacing between consecutive strips is variable. In a variant, to obtain this variable spacing, the wick portion can be wound with a given pitch but on a support of variable section, for example frustoconical.

Advantageously, the support is cylindrical and has a diameter section chosen according to the desired spacing between two distinct zones of coating of the wick portion, that is to say according to a desired spacing of the bands, or zones, of treated locks knowing the width of the bands generally applied on the outer periphery of the support. In addition, the diameter of this support is also chosen according to the length of the portion of wick to wrap around the support. The cylindrical shape makes it possible not to break the hair by winding it on a device having de facto no edges on its outer circumference.

According to a first embodiment, the wick is retained in a notch defined in a plane parallel to the main axis of elongation, and opens at one end of the support relative to its main axis of elongation.

According to a second embodiment, the wick is retained in a notch, defined in a plane forming a non-zero angle with this main axis of elongation, this angle being for example 90 °.

Advantageously this notch is chamfered so as to promote the introduction of the wick.

In the process according to the invention, the support is preferably cut around which the wick is then wound in a block making it possible to produce several supports such as those used in the invention. A notch is made with a cutting means, for example a blade or a cutter, before winding the wick.

Preferably, a second notch is made in the support for retaining a second end of the wick. Thus the wick wrapped around the support can be stretched and retained by means of these two notches. It is thus possible during a first step to arrange all the locks each wrapped around their respective support, and only during a second step to selectively apply the hair product to each of the locks thus wound.

To allow a winding of the wick portion over the entire outer periphery of the support, and in particular to avoid superimposing two wicks, the first notch and the second notch are preferably opposite relative to the main axis of elongation of the support.

To facilitate the realization of the notches and in particular preferably use only one cutting means, the notches are advantageously defined in planes parallel to each other. In a variant, the planes in which the notches are defined are secant.

According to the invention, an elastically deformable flexible support is chosen, and easy to manufacture and inexpensive, it is chosen in particular to cut the support in a polymer foam, preferably with closed cells, for example obtained by extrusion of a polyolefin polyethylene, polyester, polyether or polyurethane type.

For example to deposit the hair product in the form of a band is used a brush that is moved on the outer periphery of the support by trying not to overwrite the bristles of the brush to ensure the width of the band produced. Thus one chooses preferably a brush with hard bristles.

The support 1 comprises a first notch 4 formed parallel to the axis X, and thus cut orthogonally to the vertex 3, this notch 4 opening at this vertex 3, and also on either side of this vertex 3 at the level of the outside rim 5 of this cylinder. The notch 4, also called slot 4, has two edges such that one of these two edges, at the top 3, is chamfered 6 so as to locally indicate the presence of this notch and also to facilitate the introduction of a portion of wick in this notch 4, as proposed on the figure 2a .

According to the invention, the support is made of an elastically deformable material, and any notch, for example made with a blade in this support, comprises at least two edges also elastically deformable.

Figures 1 and 2a-2d , the slot 4 is delimited by two half-cylinders substantially longitudinally joined, and able to move elastically apart from each other to allow the introduction of a portion of the wick at one end, here the top 3 of the support 1, the two half-cylinders of the slot 4 returning by elastic return in substantially contiguous position when the wick is inserted therein, allowing to retain it without other means of attachment. The portion of bit locked in this slot is therefore of a length substantially equal to the diameter of the support 1.

During a first step, a lock M is isolated from the rest of the hair C, this lock M is slid into the first notch 4 so that a free portion of this lock M can then cooperate with the support 1 Preferably, a portion of said wick is inserted near the roots, or points, in this first notch 4.

The free portion then forms turns in the direction of the base 2. Preferably, the entire free portion of the wick is wound on the support 1 .

Eventually we block, Figure 2c , the free portion at a second notch 7 such as the first notch 4, here made at the base 2, as it is parallel to the X axis and therefore to the first notch 4. It can also be chamfered 8 and elastically deformable.

The product is then applied to an area of the outer periphery, in particular defined as a strip parallel to the X axis and intersecting each turn on at least one turn arc, figure 2d . The product is spread so as not to cover the entire outer periphery of the support 1, and thus only partially coat the portion of the wick which is wound around.

When the exposure time of the product is over, the portions of this wick which are optionally retained in the first notch 4 and in the second notch 7 are disengaged, and the wick is unrolled so as to release it completely from the support 1. finish the treatment of the hair, and the result obtained is of the type of that represented Figure 2e . In the example presented Figure 2e the strip of product has cut at least three sections the lock M, which results in the presence of three distinct zones respectively 9, 10 and 11 at which the wick M has the treatment and or the coloration related to the hair product locally applied, while on the rest of the length of the wick M keratin fibers have not been brought into contact with the hair product.

These zones 9, 10 and 11 have substantially the same height 12 relative to the length of the wick. Depending on how the hair product is applied on the outer periphery of the support 1, these areas could have different lengths. Furthermore, there is a first spacing 13 between the first two zones 9 and 10, and a second spacing 14 between the two last zones 10 and 11. The spacings 13 and 14 are here substantially identical, insofar as the wick has been wound in a regular turn around the support 1, and to the extent that the product has been deposited in a strip parallel to the main axis of elongation X, but this could be different by varying the winding or the deposit of the hair product.

The figure 3 has a support 20 also cylindrical, and preferably also made of an elastically deformable material, for use in the method according to the invention. In this variant, notches 21 and 22 for retaining the portion of wick wrapped around the support 20 are made in planes perpendicular to the main axis of elongation X. These notches 21 and 22 each have a slot at the outer periphery 23 of the cylinder, these slots do not open at the base faces 24 and 25 of the apex. The notches are in particular parallel to each other, and parallel to these base 24 and top 25, and made respectively close to these faces 24 and To optimize the length of support 20 at which the wick can be wound. These notches 21 and 22 may also be elastically deformable.

Alternatively, the figure 4 presents another alternative embodiment of a support 30 for use in the method according to the invention. In this other variant, the support 30 is also cylindrical and comprises a plurality of slots 31, 32, 33, 34 and 35 defined at the outer periphery 36 of the support, possibly parallel to each other, and possibly forming an angle with the axis of main extension X of the support 30. These slots do not open at the level of the base faces 37 and top 38 which are orthogonal to the X axis. These slots or notches 31, 32, 33, 34 and 35 can also be elastically deformable to retain a portion of wick.

The multiplicity of slots makes it possible to retain at several points the wick wrapped around the support 30, and thus to create possibly looser loops and not intended to be coated with product. Likewise, this other variant makes the support 30 more adapted to the diversity of the lengths of the wicks to be treated on the same head or from one user to the other, in the case where the supports are reused.
