Abstract

A food slicer has a housing with a front wall that serves as a positioning plate and a back wall formed with an opening in which a rotary knob is mounted for adjusting the positioning plate. The rotary knob has a threaded section, a handle section, and a catch device. The rotary knob, which adjusts the cutting width upon rotation, becomes dirty only slightly during use and it is easy to clean. The catch device is configured such that, when the knob is mounted in the housing, it is covered and cannot be seen from the outside. The advantage thereof is that dirt is prevented from being deposited on protruding catching hooks or on sections of the housing or on the rotational handle.

Description

The invention relates to a slicer according to the preamble of claim 1, as he generic example, from the GB 1 469 558 A ( DE 23 38 523 A ) is known.

Food slicers, which have a positioning plate, are usually adjustable by means of a rotary handle. By turning the rotary handle, the positioning plate is displaced in its position relative to a rotary blade of the food slicer. Due to the offset of Anstellplatte and circular blade results in the average thickness for the sections of the clippings. In the known food slicer of the rotary handle is formed by a cup-shaped handle portion which is connected to a substantially larger diameter circular disk-shaped portion. Between circular disc-shaped portion and pot-shaped handle portion locking hooks are formed on the rotary handle. Such a rotary handle can be rotatably mounted in a circular opening in a housing wall. In order to mount such a rotary handle rotatably in the housing, the known rotary handle with the cup-shaped handle portion is guided in advance from the back of the housing wall through the circular opening. The cup-shaped handle portion is inserted into the circular opening until the circular-disc-shaped portion of the rotary handle rests against the rear side of the housing wall. In this position, the latching hooks can spread open and the rotary handle is rotatably locked in the circular opening of the housing wall.

In other known food slicer arranged over the circumference of the cup-shaped handle portion locking hooks can spread on the front of the housing wall. A disadvantage of this known storage of the rotary handle in a housing of the food slicer is that the locking lugs are visible from the outside. In most cases, the locking lugs of the rotary handle are formed directly on the handle portion and to obtain the elasticity of the molded latching hooks, it is necessary that wall openings are provided on the cup-shaped handle portion, through which a certain elasticity of the latching hook is achieved. This has the consequence that the rotary handle has openings at its grip sections. These breakthroughs are just on the surface with which the user attacks the rotary handle. Both the outwardly projecting latching hook, as well as the located on the handle portion recesses make it difficult to clean the food slicer. For easy cleaning of the slicer, it would be desirable if the visible surfaces of the slicer as possible are smooth-walled, so that only little dirt can accumulate or dirt can be easily removed.

The object of the invention is to form the rotary handle for cutting width adjustment on a slicer so that the slicer is only slightly dirty in use and easy to clean.

A further object of the invention is to continue to be able to produce this in spite of improved cleanability of the slicer and to be able to assemble it in a simple manner.

Still another object of the invention is to provide a slicer alternative to that of GB 1 469 558 A is known to build.

The problem is solved with a the features of claim 1 having slicer. By the latching means which rotatably supports the rotary handle in the housing, is designed such that it is concealed hidden from the outside in a position inserted into the housing, prevents dirt from sticking to protruding latching hooks or to existing openings.

In a preferred embodiment of the food slicer according to the invention the locking means is arranged on a first cylindrical surface portion of the rotary handle between the threaded portion and the handle portion and the locking means is concealed in the inserted position of a second cylindrical surface portion of the housing. By this construction, a very small annular gap arises between rotatably mounted rotary handle and the associated housing wall. Both the locking means and any necessary openings are located inside the housing. Between the first cylindrical surface portion of the rotary handle and the second cylindrical surface portion of the housing, a very small annular gap is formed, in which only a little dirt can penetrate. In a preferred embodiment, the second cylindrical surface portion is recessed inwardly from the rear wall of the housing. In this construction, the handle portion of the rotary handle is not or only slightly protruding from the surface of the housing. This results in predominantly smooth surface transitions, which facilitate the cleaning of the food slicer.

In a preferred embodiment, the locking means are formed by a plurality of latching hooks which are arranged distributed over a circumference of the rotary handle and in a cylindrical wall portion engage the opening of the housing. By forming a cylindrical wall section at the opening of the housing, the latching hooks of the rotary handle can engage in a groove in the cylindrical wall section. Both the latching hook and the groove are covered by the cylindrical wall portion and are not visible in the mounted state from the outside.

Instead of providing the latching hook on the rotary handle and the annular groove on the housing, the annular groove may be formed on the rotary handle, engage in the associated latching hooks which are formed at least in the vicinity of the opening on the rear wall of the housing. This has the advantage that the twist grip does not provide elastic elements, i. Has latching hooks and the rotary handle can be made in a simple and cost-effective manner. At the generally considerably complicated designed housing, the elastic locking hooks can be additionally molded without this having a detrimental effect on the manufacture of the housing. If the latching hooks are provided on the housing, then there may be necessary recesses which ensure the elasticity of the latching hooks, as well as on the housing. The rotary handle has in contrast to the housing then no breakthroughs. This has the advantage that just the rotary handle, which is increasingly exposed by the use of dirt, has no openings in which dirt could settle.

The latching hooks are preferably formed on the inside of the rear wall of the housing. The latching hooks can therefore be made together with the housing in a cost effective manner as a plastic injection molded part.

Preferably, at least three locking hooks are provided, which are arranged distributed uniformly over the peripheral edge of the opening in the housing. By at least three locking hooks are provided results in a stable rotatable mounting of the rotary handle in the housing.

In an advantageous variant, a circular disk-shaped surface section is provided on the rotary handle, on the rear side of which a threaded section and on the front side of which a first cylindrical surface section is formed, which carries an annular groove. The circular disk-shaped surface portion forms a contact surface on the rear side of the housing. In the threaded portion of the rotary handle engages an associated Thread section of the positioning plate. By turning the rotary handle, the adjusting plate can be displaced with respect to the circular blade in the axial direction by means of the interlocking threaded sections.

It is particularly advantageous if the first cylindrical surface portion extends to the outer edge of the opening. The circular outer edge of the rotary handle terminates at the circular inner edge of the opening in the housing. This allows a continuous transition between the handle portion of the rotary handle and the adjacent wall portion of the housing. This improves the cleanability of the slicer.

The first cylindrical surface portion of the rotary handle may have an outer circumferential surface which bears against an inner circumferential surface of the second cylindrical surface portion of the housing opening. This results in an additional stabilization of the rotatable mounting of the rotary handle in the housing. The outer circumferential surface of the first cylindrical surface portion forms together with the inner circumferential surface of the second cylindrical surface portion a sliding bearing-like guide. Due to the relatively broad design of the outer and inner lateral surface results in an annular gap with very high sealing effect.

The housing 1 comprises a rear wall 4, which has an opening 11 for a rotary handle 2. The rotary handle 2 is set back from the surface of the rear wall 4. The edge of the rotary handle 2 connects directly to the edge of the opening 11 in the rear wall 4 of the housing 1. The inventive mounting of the rotary handle 2 in the opening 11 of the housing 1, the required locking means are hidden to the outside. This results in a pleasing appearance on the one hand and on the other hand, no locking means protrude over the outer surface and there are no cutouts exposed where dirt can begin.

In Figure 2, the rotary handle 2 is shown in detail. The rotary handle 2 has a circular disk-shaped surface section 12, which has a rear side 20 and a front side 21. At the back 20, a threaded portion 6 connects. At the front 21, a handle portion 7 connects. Between the handle portion 7 and front side 21, a cylindrical surface portion 17 is arranged. The cylindrical surface portion 17 comes in the installed position to an associated cylindrical surface portion 18 (Figure 3) of the housing 1 to lie. Between cylindrical surface portion 17 and front 21, an annular groove 9 is formed, which forms the locking means 8 on the rotary handle 2.

In Figure 3, the cylindrical surface portion 18 of the housing 1 is shown. The cylindrical surface portion 18 of the housing 1 carries in the installed position the rotary handle 2 at its cylindrical surface portion 17 (Figure 2). By a respective two recesses 19 on the cylindrical surface portion 18 depending a latching hook 10 is formed. The latching hooks 10 engage in the annular groove 9 on the rotary handle 2 (FIG. 2). The Rsthaken 10 are set back from the outer surface of the rear wall 4.

Die Figur 4 zeigt den Drehgriff 2 aus Figur 2 im eingebauten Zustand in die Rückwand 4 des Gehäuses 1 aus Figur 3.FIG. 4 shows the rotary handle 2 from FIG. 2 in the installed state in the rear wall 4 of the housing 1 from FIG. 3.

In the figure 5, the rotary handle 2 is shown in the installed in the housing 1 position in section. The rotary handle 2 has the circular disk-shaped surface portion 12. On the back 20 of the circular disk-shaped surface portion 12 of the threaded portion 6 is integrally formed. On the front side 21 of the circular disk-shaped surface portion 12 of the cylindrical surface portion 17 is integrally formed. The cylindrical surface portion 17 has on its outer circumference the annular groove 9. At an edge of the annular groove opposite end of the cylindrical surface portion 17 of the handle portion 7 is formed. The integrally formed rotary handle 2 is rotatably mounted in the housing 1. The bearing guide is effected by means of the cylindrical surface portion 17 of the rotary handle 2, which rests in the cylindrical surface portion 18 on the housing 2.
