Definitions
- the present invention relates to applicators for applying a product, in particular a cosmetic or dermatological product.
- US Patent 2,763,885 describes such a system consisting of abrasive foam impregnated with toothpaste.
- US Patent 5,678,273 describes a similar system.
- the supports described are not suitable for the application of a cosmetic or medicinal preparation.
- an applicator for the application of a product in particular a cosmetic product or dermatological, comprising a reservoir, the first side of which has means for fixing the applicator on a finger, a portion applicator being disposed on a second side of the reservoir, opposite to the first, the applicator portion being, at least prior to the first use of the applicator isolated from the reservoir, means being provided for, at least during from the first use of the applicator, in response to a command actuation, establish communication between the tank and the portion applicator.
- the product contained in the tank can be isolated from the portion applicator, the applicator avoids contamination and soiling of the product contained in the tank before application.
- the applicator allows to apply two incompatible products between them, or products unstable over time by extemporaneous mixing during application, or still products that produce an exothermic reaction when they are brought into contact, one of the products being packaged in the tank and the other in the applicator portion.
- the fixing means may consist of an adhesive layer formed the first side of the tank, a ring, a thermowell, or a system "velcro" type.
- Means for establishing communication between the tank and the portion applicator may consist of a membrane capable of breaking in response to pressure exerted on the first side of the tank when first use of the applicator.
- the means to establish communication between the reservoir and the applicator portion may include a member capable of drill the second side of the tank.
- the organ can be formed for example by a trocar attached to the first side of the tank.
- the means for establishing communication between the reservoir and the applicator portion may include at least one valve capable of opening in response to an overpressure generated inside the tank. The communication between the reservoir and the applicator portion is then reversible.
- the first side of the tank can be configured to deform in response to external pressure in order to establish communication between the reservoir and the applicator portion.
- this first side can sink towards the inside of the tank when it is pressed with a finger.
- we can reduce the interior volume of the tank and generate a overpressure inside the tank which leads to rupture of the membrane.
- you push the first side of the tank it can also cause the trocar in engagement with the membrane so as to pierce it.
- the applicator portion can be made of a porous or fibrous material, in particular of foam of a thermoplastic material, sponge, felt, or natural fibers, especially cotton.
- the applicator portion can be made of an elastic material deformable so as to obtain a relatively flexible application.
- the applicator portion may include an application surface covered with a flocking, nonwoven or woven.
- the adhesive layer may include a hypoallergenic adhesive.
- the applicator may have, in section in the thickness direction, a shape convex, at least on the side of the face used for application.
- the applicator may have, in section in the thickness direction, a shape concave on the first side of the tank. This shape facilitates positioning with a finger on this side.
- the applicator may present, in section in the direction of the thickness, a flattened shape with a first side of the tank substantially parallel to a face used for application.
- the applicator may have, in front view, a circular shape or else a non-circular shape, for example a generally triangular shape, square, oval, drop of water or almond.
- the first wall of the tank covered with adhesive can be covered, before the first use, a removable protective film.
- the product contained in the tank can be in liquid, semi-liquid form or pasty.
- the applicator portion may also contain a second product intended to be mix with the product in the tank, the second product can be in liquid, semi-liquid, pasty or powdered form.
- the reservoir can define a substantially cylindrical, spherical or any other form.
- the tank can be made of polyethylene, polypropylene, PVC, polyamide, thermoplastic elastomers (SEBS), polycarbonate or in Teflon.
- the objects of the invention can also be achieved by performing a packaging and application device comprising a closed housing containing at least one applicator as just described.
- the device can be in the form of a sachet or even a cell closed by a movie.
- the applicator according to the invention is particularly useful for the application of a cosmetic or dermatological product, in particular a disinfectant product, a sunscreen, moisturizer, anti-wrinkle, nail polish, complexion, lipstick, makeup remover, hair care product, a hair coloring product, a deodorant or antiperspirant product or a perfume.
- a cosmetic or dermatological product in particular a disinfectant product, a sunscreen, moisturizer, anti-wrinkle, nail polish, complexion, lipstick, makeup remover, hair care product, a hair coloring product, a deodorant or antiperspirant product or a perfume.
- the applicator 10 shown in Figures 1 to 3 includes a reservoir of product 30 and an applicator portion 20 used for applying a product to the skin, mucous membranes or dander.
- the applicator portion 20 may for example comprise a layer of a porous or fibrous material, especially an elastic material deformable, such as open or closed cell foam, felt or all other cellular structures, in particular a natural sponge or not, or fibrous structures, in particular cotton or textile, or a superimposition of these.
- an elastic material deformable such as open or closed cell foam, felt or all other cellular structures, in particular a natural sponge or not, or fibrous structures, in particular cotton or textile, or a superimposition of these.
- the applicator portion can also comprise or be constituted by a film, it may be of relatively small thickness.
- the applicator portion 20 may have, in front view, a circular shape and a substantially constant thickness e giving it a flattened shape.
- the applicator portion 20 defines on one side an application surface 21 intended to be applied to an area to be treated and, on the opposite side, a face 22 bonded to its periphery has a membrane 41.
- the face 22 can be in heat-sealed periphery on the membrane 41.
- the membrane 41 constitutes a wall of the product reservoir 30, on one side 32 of the tank, the membrane being tight to the product so as to isolate the portion applicator of the product contained in the reservoir.
- the membrane 41 can be made for example of polyethylene, polypropylene, PVC, polyamide, thermoplastic elastomers (SEBS), polycarbonate or polyurethane.
- the reservoir 30 has a side wall 33 of circular section on the edge free of which the membrane 41 is bonded or heat-sealed.
- the side wall is for example made of plastic, in particular polyethylene, polypropylene, PVC, polyamide, thermoplastic elastomers (SEBS) or poly-carbonates. We will choose a thickness sufficient for this wall lateral is relatively rigid.
- the side wall 33 of the tank is closed by a slightly concave wall 31.
- the wall 31 is relatively thin, it is for example between 200 ⁇ m and 2000 ⁇ m, and preferably between 500 ⁇ m and 1000 ⁇ m so that it can deform in response to pressure from a finger.
- the wall 31 is covered, on its face opposite the interior of the tank, with a adhesive layer 310.
- the adhesive may be a permanent adhesive, resistant to water, hypoallergenic, which adheres more strongly to the wall 31 than to the skin.
- the adhesive layer 310 may be present in the form of a film, which may completely cover the face of the wall 31.
- the adhesive layer can still be present as a network of points, a series of bands, or not extend only in the central region of the wall 31.
- the layer of adhesive can still be covered, for example, with a net to reduce the adhesive power.
- the adhesive layer 310 can be covered, before the first use, by a removable protective film 50 which may include a tongue 51 protruding from the side wall 33 of the reservoir 30 to facilitate its removal.
- the protective film 50 comprises for example a silicone paper or a film of polyethylene.
- the reservoir 30 contains a liquid, semi-liquid or pasty product P, under the form of a cosmetic or dermatological preparation.
- the applicator portion 20 can also be pre-impregnated with a second product, also in liquid, semi-liquid or pasty form, or in powder form. This allows in particular to apply two preparations incompatible with each other or preparations that are unstable over time extemporaneous mixture during application.
- the user removes the removable protective film 50 and places a finger on the face of the wall 31 covered with adhesive.
- the applicator 10 is thus fixed on the pulp of the first phalanx of the index finger for example, as seen in Figure 2.
- the application surface 21 is then applied on the part of the body to receive the preparation.
- the wall 31 deforms towards the inside of the tank, thereby reducing the volume of this one.
- An overpressure is thus created inside the tank, the overpressure being such that the membrane 41 tears and forms a passage 34 illustrated in the Figure 3.
- the product P can then flow into the applicator portion 20 through the passage 34.
- the product moves, either simply by gravity, or also by capillarity in the pores or between the fibers of the porous or fibrous material constituting the applicator portion 20, up to the application surface 21.
- the product can also move to the applicator portion by pumping the material constituting the applicator portion when it is resiliently deformable. We can then spread the product over a very specific area and / or massage the area.
- the applicator 10 can for example be used for the application on crow's feet or the area above the upper lip of anti-wrinkle preparations to based on vitamin C and / or retinol. Similarly, it can be used to the application of anti-viral preparations on a herpetic lip lesion.
- the applicator can also be used to apply eye shadows or lipsticks. It also allows touch-up of perfume, make-up removal of the nails or the realization of micropeeling on the face.
- the applicator 10 can, of course, have a shape different from that which has just been described, adapted in particular to the area of the body or of the face on which one we want to apply.
- the applicator 10 can for example have an application surface 21 curved, for example convex towards the outside, as illustrated in FIG. 4.
- the application surface 21 is covered with a nonwoven film. 23.
- the application surface 21 has a flocking 24.
- the wall 31 is flat and not concave.
- the applicator 10 may have, when viewed in front view, a shape other than circular, for example to make it easier to apply or more precisely a product on a given part of the face, for example eyelids or lips.
- FIGS. 6A to 6E show, in front view, different examples, among others, of possible forms.
- the applicator 10 can present, in view frontal, a substantially square (FIG. 6A), oval (FIG. 6B) shape, triangular (Figure 6C), almond-shaped (Figure 6D) or even drop of water (Figure 6E).
- the applicator portion 20 may contain or be formed by a thin polymer film.
- This film may for example contain a preparation to be applied, which will be dissolved extemporaneously with a solution aqueous contained in the tank.
- two applicators affixed on two opposable fingers can be used to make a clamp and remove make-up from eyelashes or color a lock of hair.
- such use of two applicators makes it possible to avoid the halos under the eyes and not to stain neither the eye nor the eyelid.
- Such use of two or several applicators also allows to handle with ease several products at a time so, for example, to achieve creative makeup multicolored.
- the applicator 10 can be packaged for example in a sachet.
- the applicator 10 can be housed in a cell 60, formed by example by thermoforming a plate of thermoplastic material, such as it has been shown in Figure 9.
- the cell defines a housing 61 in which is housed the applicator 10, the removable protective film 50 is then fixed to the cell around the housing, for example by heat sealing 52, so as to close the housing 61 tightly. It is obvious that each housing can accommodate several applicators 10.
- the cell can also delimit several housings 61 each housing a or more applicator (s) 10, as illustrated in FIG. 10. Lines of pre-cut 62 are arranged around each housing to allow separate each housing provided with its applicator and closed by the film of removable protection 50.
- the applicator 10 may also include means capable of piercing the membrane 41 isolating the applicator portion 20 of the product contained in the reservoir 30. It is for example a trocar 42 formed from the wall 31 and whose free cutting end 420 is oriented towards the membrane 41. As as illustrated in FIG. 11, the cutting free end 420 of the trocar is at distance from the membrane 41 when the wall 31 is not deformed. When the user sticks his finger on the wall 31 and applies the surface 21 on the area to be treated, the wall 31 deforms towards the inside of the reservoir and moves the trocar 42 to the membrane 41. The cutting end 420 of the trocar then pierces the membrane 41 so as to form a passage 34 for the product, as illustrated in Figure 12.
- the means for fixing the applicator on one or more fingers can be different from an adhesive layer like the one just described. As example, there are shown in Figures 13 to 15 different examples of means for reversibly fixing the applicator on a finger.
- the applicator 10 is for example fixed to the finger by a ring 311.
- the applicator can also be fixed to the finger by a thermowell 312 as it has been represented in FIG. 14.
- the ring and the finger of gloves can be integral with the side 31 of the reservoir 30.
- Applicator 10 can be used to apply a skin care cream salicylic acid.
- the applicator portion 20 is made in polyurethane foam.
- the face 22 of the applicator portion is glued, at its periphery, by an acrylic adhesive, to a polyethylene membrane 41.
- the side walls 33 and the wall 31 of the tank 30 are made of polyethylene low density.
- the reservoir 30 contains 0.2 ml of a 1% care cream salicylic acid.
- the wall 33 of the container is covered with an adhesive silicone.
- Applicator 10 can be used to apply an exact dose of vitamin C pure.
- the applicator portion 20 is a sponge.
- the sponge is infused with pure vitamin C in powder form.
- Face 22 of the applicator portion is bonded, at its periphery, by an acrylic adhesive, to a polyethylene membrane 41.
- the side walls 33 and the wall 31 of the tank 30 are made of polypropylene.
- the tank 30 contains this time 0.2 ml of thermal water.
- the wall 31 of the container is covered with an adhesive silicone.
- the thermal water impregnates the sponge, dissolve vitamin C and allow its action on the skin.
- Such applicator helps maintain the integrity of vitamin C, unstable in solution, compared to a solubilized form, vitamin C being undegraded and active.
