Definitions
- the present invention relates to a retaining and adjusting device in the longitudinal position of a binding on a snow gliding board such as a ski or the like.
- the skier's shoe in the case of a ski of the so-called alpine type, is retained on the ski in a triggerable way, by its front end, by a front safety attachment commonly called “stop” and, by its rear end, and in particular its heel, thanks to a rear safety attachment commonly called “heel piece”.
- the boot must, in restraint position on the ski, be in a longitudinal position determined and precise on the ski, to allow correct skiing.
- the manufacturers affix during the manufacture of the skis to make a marking, which must correspond to the middle of the sole of the shoe, when it is retained on the ski.
- ski boot manufacturers indicate by marking the middle of the shoe.
- the front and rear bindings must be fixed to the ski in determined longitudinal positions, so that the middle of the shoe corresponds to the marking made on the ski.
- the invention therefore relates to a device making it possible to fix so removable and adjustable either of the front and / or rear fasteners, on the upper surface of the ski, in a determined longitudinal position adapted to the length of the sole of the shoe and by means simple, reliable, and inexpensive.
- the invention also relates to skiing, which comprises part of the means, as well as the fixation, which includes the complementary means.
- the retaining and adjusting device in longitudinal position of a binding on a ski allowing it to be fixed removable and adjustable manner on the upper surface of said ski, and this in a determined longitudinal position, includes positioning means longitudinal on the ski and retained in the chosen position, and is characterized in that said means are such that the upper surface of the ski comprises at least one upwardly extending retaining projection intended to be engaged in a longitudinal slot made in the base of the binding, while a transverse locking member is provided which immobilizes the base with the projection, by cooperation with the latter, while the base includes a succession of transverse holes in at least one which is engaged the locking member.
- the locking member consists of at least one transverse branch, such as, for example, a metallic cylindrical profile such as a pin or a pin.
- the locking member is a U-shaped metal pin, which therefore includes two branches transverse locking.
- the retaining projection fixed to the ski includes a cylindrical central part surmounted by a upper part of a larger diameter in order to constitute a rim vertical retaining device, intended to cooperate with a surface base support.
- the base includes three longitudinal lights
- the ski includes three corresponding retaining projections, namely, for example, a light longitudinal center which extends along the longitudinal axis of the ski, and two side lights, respectively, a right side light and a light left side.
- each of the ends of the longitudinal lights includes a circular engagement and disengagement hole, respectively, allowing the passage of the upper part of each of the projections.
- the base comprises a succession transverse holes, contained in the same horizontal plane, the distance between two adjacent holes is equal to the distance between the two branches of the locking pin, to constitute at least one set of two pairs of holes, namely, a first pair of holes, a second pair of holes allowing the user to choose one of these pairs of holes to position and fix the base in a determined chosen position.
- the base comprises a succession at least two pairs of transverse holes, the holes of each of the pairs of holes being contained in an inclined plane, and the distance between two holes being equal to the distance between the two branches of the locking pin.
- the two branches of the locking member are engaged in two transverse holes to be arranged on both sides of the retaining projection.
- the invention also relates to the ski intended to be equipped with the device, which is characterized in that it comprises at least one projection intended to cooperate with a longitudinal light produced in the base of the binding.

- the holes extend transversely over the entire width of said base, while the set of holes constitutes a set of three pairs of holes, i.e., a first pair of holes (12, 12 '), a second pair of holes (12 ', 12 ") and a third pair of holes (12", 12 “') allowing the user to choose one of these pairs of holes to position and fix the base (10) in a selected chosen position, the two branches of the locking member being engaged in two transverse holes, for be arranged on either side of the central part (82), namely, at the front and at the rear, as appears more particularly in Figures 4 and 5.
- the 2 shows the stop mounted on the ski in a longitudinal position intermediate that the locking pin (11) is as it is engaged in the second pair of holes (12 ', 12 ").
- the user can change this longitudinal position by removing the locking pin, by lateral displacement, and by re-engaging it either in the first pair of holes (12, 12 '), to place the stop in a more longitudinal position advanced, either by re-engaging it in the third pair of holes (12 ", 12 '' ') to place the stopper in a longitudinal position further back.
- Figures 6 to 8 are views illustrating an alternative embodiment of the device of the invention used in the context of a heel piece (6) intended to retain the rear end of the shoe.

- the base (10 ') includes three longitudinal lights (9, 9 ', 9 "), while the ski includes three corresponding retaining projections (8, 8 ', 8 ") which are screwed into the ski (2).
- the base (10 ') includes a rear longitudinal light central (9) which extends along the longitudinal axis of the ski, and two lights front side lights, respectively, a right front side light (9 ') and a front left side light (9 "), each of the front side lights (9 ', 9 ") being located on either side of the longitudinal plane of symmetry general (P).
- the ski (2) includes a central rear projection (8), which extends along the longitudinal axis of the ski, and two front lateral projections, respectively, a front right side projection (8 ') and a side projection front left (8 "), each of the front side projections (8 ', 8") being located on either side of the longitudinal plane of general symmetry (P).
- the central rear projection (8) is intended to cooperate with the light rear longitudinal (9), while the right front lateral projection (8 ') cooperates with the front right side light (9 ') and the front left side projection (8 ") cooperates with the front left side light (9").
- Each of the rear ends of each of the lights longitudinal (9, 9 ', 9 ") includes, as we have already pointed out previously, a circular engagement hole, respectively (13, 13 ', 13 "), allowing the passage of the upper part (83) of each projections (8, 8 ', 8 ").
- the locking member (11 ') is a U-shaped metal pin, which therefore includes two transverse locking branches (110, 111), a transverse branch front (110), and a rear transverse branch (111).
- the base (10) comprises a succession of three pairs transverse holes (12-12a, 12'-12'a, 12 "-12" a).
- the holes of each of pairs of holes are contained in an inclined plane up and forward and the distance between two holes is equal to the distance between the two branches (110, 111) of the locking pin (11 ').
- the holes extend transversely over the entire width of said base, while the assembly of holes constitutes a set of three pairs of holes, i.e., a first pair of holes (12, 12a), a second pair of holes (12 ', 12'a) and a third pair of holes (12 ", 12" a) allowing the user to choose one of these pairs of holes for positioning and fixing the base (10) in a selected position determined, the two branches of the locking member being engaged in two transverse holes, to be arranged on the side and on the other side of the projection, the rear branch (111) being arranged and cooperating with the central part (82), while the front branch (110) cooperates with the part upper (83) of the projection, as appears more particularly in the figure 8.
- Figure 6 shows the heel piece (6) mounted on the ski in a intermediate longitudinal position in which the locking pin (11 ') is such that it is engaged in the second pair of holes (12', 12'a).
- the user can change this longitudinal position by removing the locking pin and re-engaging it either in the first pair of holes (12, 12a), to place the heel piece in a position more advanced longitudinal, either by reengaging it in the third pair of holes (12 ", 12" a) to place the heel piece in a longitudinal position further back.
- Figure 9 is a top view in horizontal section at the central part of the locking projections, representing a variant of realization of the locking member (11 ").
- the pin locking is such that one of its branches is not straight and includes two hollow profiles to constitute retaining means for the pin by cooperation with the corresponding projections.
- the locking member (11, 11 ') extends transversely to cooperate with the two lateral projections (8 ', 8 ").
- connection fasteners (4, 6) is removable, and the user can, when desired detach by removing the locking members by lateral displacement, and then, by moving its fixings (4, 6) longitudinally relative to the retaining projections (8, 8 ', 8 "). So the front stop must be moved backwards until the upper parts (83) of the projections are opposite the corresponding disengagement holes (13), position whereby the base (10) can be disengaged by vertical movement. Similarly, the heel piece is to be moved forward until the upper parts (83) of the protrusions are located opposite the corresponding disengagement holes (13), position according to which the base (10 ') can be disengaged by vertical displacement.
- the exemplary embodiments previously described were in the setting frame according to three positions and the number of transverse holes was such that the base had three pairs of holes, but it could be otherwise, and the number of holes intended to cooperate with the locking could be such that there are more than three positions in length possible and, in this case, there would be more than three pairs of transverse holes.
