- shape and size of the bag should be adapted to this purpose.
Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a package for vegetables and in particular for asparagus, according to the preamble of the independent claim.
Various vegetables and especially asparagus are harvested in large quantities, stored and transported over long distances. For this purpose, a suitable packaging and possibly pretreatment is necessary. Some vegetables are wrapped in plastic film, others wrapped in a protective paper or similar.
FR 2'S90'874 shows a packaging material for moisture-sensitive products, comprising a carrier layer and a moisture-retaining layer of swellable material.

Asparagus are either packed loosely or bundled into trays or crates. For bundles of asparagus usually a paper container is used. Asparagus must be protected from daylight and from drying out. The lower part of the rod tends to dry out very quickly, which immediately reduces the quality significantly. After a short time discoloration and cracks occur in the rods. The use of said paper containers does not protect against this. Replacing the paper packaging with plastic films has not led to a better result in tests. It is known, however, that asparagus is best preserved at a relative humidity of 90-95% and protected from light at a temperature of 2 ° C.
The object of the invention is to provide a package which ensures this relative humidity during storage until sale.
This object is achieved by the invention according to independent claim.

In order to be able to use the new packaging from storage to transport to sale on the shop shelf, a container in the manner of a bag or bag is suitable. As long as it is not needed, it can be stored flat stacked with minimal space consumption. It is everted, that means with the inside outside. Before use, it is briefly held under running water, whereby its absorbent material absorbs and stores water. Then the bag is turned into use, as an outside to the outside and inside to the inside. Now the bag is opened up for use and a bunch of asparagus with the rods put down. When using this new packaging, the asparagus will stay fresh for a long time in an optimal climate and protected from drying out. The protection against light also reduces discoloration of the asparagus.
This is shown in FIG. 1 in a view. A number of
According to FIGS. 2 and 3, the
On the inside of the bag, the
On the inside of the bag is an
Especially suitable are so-called MAP films (Modified Atmosphere Packaging) as
The embodiment of the absorbent material may also itself have a surface which fulfills the function of the
Even a dark color of the
The
Of course, the inventive packaging can also be used for storage, packaging, transport of other vegetables and fruits. At best, the shape and size of the bag should be adapted to this purpose.
