Definitions
- the present invention relates to a diaper cap multiples in natural cork consisting of layers substantially cylindrical or frustoconical multiples glued by their bases, in which the cap constituting each of these layers has veins extending between the upper and lower bases of the cylinder, that is to say, in its longitudinal direction or axial.
- the present invention also relates to a method manufacturing this multi-layered plug punching the plugs by the edge of a slice compound obtained by sticking multiple slices not consecutive from a natural cork board or from different boards, punching being done in the direction veins of natural cork.
- Natural cork pieces as they are extracted from the tree, have a concave and elongated shape and have veins arranged in the longitudinal direction, that is, perpendicular to the radial direction of the tree, coming from the concentric layers of growth bark.
- these parts are subjected to a preliminary treatment flattening which results in planks irregular natural cork, having a length proportional to the height of the tree, a width corresponding approximately to half the trunk circumference and variable size depending on the bark of the tree.
- the cork on these boards keeps these veins in the longitudinal direction. Later, the boards are cut into slices from which the caps are punched.
- the product obtained will have a configuration, texture and properties which will give it various characteristics of behaviour.
- the basic pantry of a cork in a container is to isolate the contents from the outside, requirements increasing with the quality of the product contained.
- One-piece natural cork stoppers whose veins stretch between their bases are most appreciated, for example, to stop bottles of good wine because they provide a reasonable and natural guarantee that this office be accomplished.
- a standard, one-piece stopper natural cork may have pores, holes, cracks and impurities specific to the cork itself or caused by animal or plant parasites affecting the tree. Very often these irregularities happen to form one or more passages, oriented in a direction generally the same as that of the veins, which connect the upper bases and bottom of the plug, with which the insulation capacity of the plug is lost.
- caps go through various selection and external control to be classified according to their appearance superficial, current inspection methods do not have no means with sufficient precision to guarantee the internal quality of the caps, that is to say, the absence of passages between their bases.
- a thorough unit inspection in case a method would be developed for this, would result in additional costs and a large number of refusals which would make the final product significantly more expensive.
- An object of this invention is to provide a multi-layer natural cork stopper retains properties and behavioral characteristics of one piece natural cork stoppers with streaks extended between the upper and lower bases but preventing the existence of passages which communicate the bases upper and lower.
- Another object of this invention is to provide a process for the manufacture of this plug.
- the first of these objectives is achieved, in accordance with this invention, with a cap comprising layers multiples glued by their bases to form a plug having the required dimensions, the veins of each of the layers being extended between their upper bases and lower extremities, and the ends of the veins and possible passages of each of the layers being substantially displaced from the veins and possible passages of contiguous layers.
- the basic idea is to train a cap with the required dimensions from several shorter plugs united by their bases.
- each of these shorter plugs i.e. each layer
- has its veins in the direction longitudinal makes its behavioral characteristics will be those specific to a one-piece stopper, mentioned upper. Therefore, the complete plug formed by multiple layers will also retain these properties.
- the ends of the veins and passages of each layer are substantially offset by those of the adjoining layers ensures that any possible passage able to communicate the upper and lower bases will not be continued.
- the multi-layer cap natural cork of this invention solves the problem of functional quality of the caps in one piece because it guarantees virtually 100% isolation at the same time as retains its behavioral characteristics.
- the cap the invention can only be distinguished by its appearance exterior because it has several transverse fringes superimposed corresponding to the various layers which up.
- the second of the above-mentioned objectives is achieved with a method for manufacturing a diaper cap natural cork multiples of this invention.
- the process understands, first of all, as it is conventional, obtaining natural cork pieces, flattening them out get natural cork boards and cut these boards sliced; however, here these slices are lower than usual.
- the method of the invention then comprises join several of these cork slices by their edges natural, not consecutive, if they come from the same board, or even better, from boards different, until forming a compound slice, up to suitable for a cap having the required dimensions, and then punch the caps on the edge of this compound slice.
- the fact that the contiguous slices of the compound slice are not not consecutive, if it comes from the same board, or if they come from different boards, ensure the substantial offset of the veins and possible passages in the adjoining layers of the multilayer plug in natural cork.
- the process of the present invention provides other advantages economic because the refusals are fewer and we draw a more of the raw material, with all that a expensive unit inspection system is no longer required.
- FIG. 1 shows three corks A, B, C in cork natural in one piece, substantially cylindrical (although they could have another form, for example tapered), having a desired height and provided respectively of upper bases 4a, 4b, 4c and bases lower 5a, 5b, 5c.
- the natural cork veins are extended longitudinally between the upper and lower bases 4a, 4b, 4c and 5a, 5b, 5c, respectively.
- an internal passage 6a, 6b, 6c formed by natural irregularities in cork, such as pores, holes and cracks, and / or caused by pests animals or plants.
- passages 6a, 6b, 6c communicate the upper and lower bases 4a, 5a; 4b, 5b; and 4c, 5c of their respective caps, which could allow a air inlet inside a container clogged with this plug or loss of its contents. As indicated above, with current manufacturing and quality control it could happen that the plugs having these anomalies are marketed without this flaw has been detected.
- This invention is based on the principle of interrupting the possible passages existing in the plug so that they cannot communicate the upper base and the lower base.
- FIG. 2 these same three plugs A, B, C are shown, which have been cut transversely so that with each of them we obtain a portion of the cap 1, 2, 3, that is to say, a portion 1 of the plug A, a portion 2 of plug B and a portion 3 of plug C, the heights of portions 1, 2, 3 are such that adding them together give the desired height of the plug.
- Each serving of plug 1, 2, 3 includes a respective passage portion 61a, 61b, 63c. If, as shown opposite FIG.
- FIG. 4 shows cap portions 1, 2, 3 piled up and united to form a multi-layer natural cork stopper in accordance to this invention.
- the plug of FIG. 4 is cork natural, it has an upper base 4c, a lower base 5a and the cork veins are oriented in one direction substantially perpendicular to the two bases 4a, 5c. That is to say, it has the positive characteristics of the cap one piece natural cork that make it the most appreciated. But, moreover, the plug of the invention has the possible passages 61a, 62b, 63c interrupted, which could communicate its bases 4a, 5c, with which we avoid certain disadvantages of the natural cork in one piece.
- FIG. 5 to 9 a method of describing manufacturing the plug of FIG. 4 applicable to industry. Note that even if the pieces in natural cork have irregular shapes, in Figs. 5 to 9 they have been represented schematically by shapes geometric to make the drawings clearer.
- the boards 12 are cut into slices 14 having a predetermined height according to the height and the number of layers that the final plug will have.
- the final cap will be made up of three layers having the same height and it's going to have a final height required. Through therefore, each of the slices 14 has a height approximately the same at a third of the final height required.
- the layers could have another number and different heights from each other, the only condition is that the sum of the heights of the sections is equal to the final height required.
- the next phase of the process involves joining by their edges various slices in natural cork 14 until forming a compound slice 16 like the one illustrated schematically with regard to FIG. 8, having a height suitable for a stopper with the required final height. It is important to pay attention that the slices 14 contiguous of the compound tranche 16 are not consecutive slices if they come from the same plank, it’s better to have slices from different boards. We can reach the different slices with all techniques and materials known in the art of the sector.
- the diaper cap multiple in natural cork 18 is composed of layers multiples 20 bonded together by their bases to form a plug with the final dimensions required, the veins of each of the layers 20 being extended between their upper and lower bases respective, that is to say, in a substantially substantial sense perpendicular to the upper and lower bases 22, 24 of cap 18. Ente the contiguous layers 20 remain formed interfaces 7.
- the ends of the veins are substantially offset in these interfaces 7 of the layers 20 contiguous and possible crossings are interrupted at the interfaces 7, as explained above opposite of Figs. 1 to 4. Also, in a conventional manner, the multi-layer natural cork caps 18 are after polished and finished to give the finished product.
