- the present invention relates to protection against the fire of land transport vehicles, in particularly long, such as weights heavy such as trucks or tractor trucks coupled to a trailer, or even coaches.
- the present invention aims to propose a solution to this problem.
- the invention relates to a device for fire fighting, intended to equip a vehicle land transport, comprising means for capturing temperature, designed to monitor at least one of set of power components comprising an engine block, an axle, axle wheels and braking means, characterized by the fact that it comprises a central, monitoring of states of the sensor and control means in consequence of firefighting means arranged to deliver a fire fighting product to at minus an area to be treated comprising the power unit monitored, the central unit being associated with means memories for memorizing the states of the sensors and memorization of orders for control means.
- a fire risk can be detected in time and therefore be treated before the fire starts, or quickly after this one and the overall state of the environment of the device is thus directly accessible to it to take appropriate action over time, i.e. before, during and after fire started.
- the central unit is associated with a correspondence table arranged to provide links position logic between each sensor means and at least one of the means of struggle. Countermeasures against an increasing risk of fire can be targeted.
- the central unit can be associated with means timers arranged to control the launch, to means of control, orders of countermeasures complementary.
- the device can thus judge effectiveness of early countermeasures and decide to the sending of additional orders.
- Table may contain additional logical links position indicating, for at least some of the means sensors, some of the control means to activate in assistance, in the event of ineffectiveness of other means of fight.
- the device can thus have a good perception relative positions of the monitored organs, for best contain a fire.
- the timer means can for this purpose be arranged to control the reading of the supplement of links of Table.
- timer means can be arranged to order a reading in the table of a history, containing sensor states after activation of some of the means of control, controlling activation of emergency response means. history assesses the effectiveness of initial countermeasures.
- the means of control comprise at least two product containers arranged to operate in mutual aid under the control of the central unit.
- the central unit preferably cooperates with a desk monitoring and control of the device by a driver of the vehicle.
- the sensor means are advantageously arranged for provide, for at least one of the organs monitored, a pre-alarm indication.
- the means of control include controllable switching means, connected in downstream means of supply of control product for the deliver in the area to be treated.
- the means switch can be arranged so that the switch can be inhibited on order, in order to supply the product to at least two areas to be treated.
- Some of the means of control for example a container of control product, are preferably arranged to be fixed under a trailer vehicle.
- the device can be arranged to be worn in all by a trailer, with a battery own supply, preferably recharged by a tractor when coupled to it.
- the device advantageously includes means shock detectors provided for controlling the means of fire fighting, through the power plant, and for control an inhibit output of electrical circuits of the vehicle.
- a shock is indeed likely to cause a fire, in particular of electrical origin.
- the device may include radio means for transmission of alarms to a monitoring station, by example of the means of access to a radiotelephony network.
- the road assembly of FIGS. 1 and 2 comprises, in this example, a tractor vehicle 1, with engine block 44, coupled to a trailer 2 carried, at the front, by an axle 43 of tractor 1, and, at the rear, by two twin axles 41, 42.
- Power organs 41 to 44 above and their environment are designed and sized to be able to dissipate a determined maximum flow of calories they generate while driving, without exceeding a threshold of predetermined temperature.
- the compartment engine must not exceed 135 ° C.
- the engine is sometimes heavily stressed, same as axles 41, 42, 43 or brakes 41F, 42F and 43F which are associated therewith respectively.
- the temperature of corresponding wheels 41R, 42R and 43R can itself be monitored and it can be expected to be able to spray them with a mist of control product fire (fire extinguisher and / or cooler), if the wheel or even the associated brake drum reaches a temperature excessive.
- Figure 3 shows schematically the device fire fighting.
- the central unit 10 located in this example in tractor 1 and powered from the battery thereof and / or by solar collector, with a central unit 11, comprising at least one input port, here actually a plurality of four input ports referenced 12, 13, 14, 15, and at least one output port, here in fact two ports referenced 16 and 17.
- the ports input 12 to 15 are respectively connected to sensors 31, 32, 33, 34 in close thermal contact with the respective axles 41, 42 (shown partially), 43 and the motor 44.
- the sensors 31 to 33 are for example kinds of tips or capsules maintained against, or even in, the axle bodies 41 to 43 of wheels 41R, 42R, 43R, for example by screwing in a cavity to protect them.
- the sensors 31 to 34 are by example of bimetal type thermostats, opening a contact hot.
- the sensor 34 of the motor 44 can for example be consisting of a pair of parallel electrical wires and neighbors, extending above the motor 44, separated by a insulation sheath melting at predetermined temperature, by example 138 ° C, which produces a contact closure between the two sons.
- thermal sensors connected to the organs power, dissipative, of the respective brakes 41F, 42F, 43F.
- These power organs can for example relate friction contact elements, such as drums, intended to provide braking torque, or electromagnetic recovery braking elements the kinetic energy.
- Links 31A to 34A connect the sensors 31 to 34 at the respective ports 12 to 15.
- these links are loops that open or close in if the temperature threshold is exceeded, depending on the nature of the associated sensor 31 to 34, and whose associated port 12 to 15 detects the state.
- the control unit 10 controls, via port 16 controlling a link 16B, a fire extinguisher 20 located under the trailer 2, at proximity to axles 41, 42.
- Control of the fire extinguisher 20 consists in triggering a pyrotechnic charge releasing an opening of the fire extinguisher container.
- Port 16 also controls, in this example, a 16A link of control of a fluid switching device 22 fire extinguisher, for example a network of solenoid valves connected in parallel downstream of extinguisher 20, to direct the product, in the form of fog, possibly via a specific conduit for each (the two upper arrows with double lines), towards a area containing axle 41 or 42 associated with sensor 31 or 32 providing an overheating alarm.
- the axle 43 of the tractor 1 and the engine 44 can also be supplied from extinguisher 20.
- the tractor 1 has its own fire extinguisher 21, here attached to the rear of the cabin, controlled by the port 17 through a link 17B, and associated with a extinguishing fluid 23 controlled by a link 17A for a diffusion, by other conduits (the two arrows lower double line), to axle 43 or the motor 44, when the associated sensor 33 or 34 indicates a threshold crossing.
- a panel or console 50 for viewing and manual or other control located in the cab of the driver, includes warning lights and / or sound emitters 51, 52, 53, 54 for copying the alarm state of the sensors 31 to 34.
- Buttons or equivalent 55, 56 and others not designed allow driver to manually control activation of any of the extinguishers 20 and 21 if he deems it useful, and possibly the switcher associated 22 and 23.
- the buttons 55, 56 have a cover involuntary anti-command or are of the stroke type in chicane, said to "turn then push".
- Fire extinguishers 20, 21 and switches 22, 23 are used in the global firefighting, i.e. prevention and, where appropriate, extinction.
- switcher 22, 23 is optional, because provision could be made to distribute the extinguishing agent in all neighboring supervised areas, one of which is in alarm, such as for example the twin axles 41, 42.
- Such inhibition can be carried out by controlling the simultaneous opening of the two solenoid valves at inputs in parallel on the output of the extinguisher 20 or 21.
- an exit route may be provided additional of the switch 22, 23, on which connect two product distribution routes in common to the two respective protected bodies, such as axles 41 and 42, possibly through the conduits original at the output of the switch 22, 23, with then non-return valves in both arteries to avoid a hydraulic short circuit in normal operation referrals.
- the switch inhibition function of a supply point to several supply areas controlled product thus allows a fire to be treated global, in several of the areas protected by the same fire extinguisher 20, 21.
- fire extinguishers can be provided additional, without locally associated sensor, for protect the rest of the vehicle 1, 2 and in particular the trailer cargo 2.
- Control of these fire extinguishers can be manual from console 50 and / or automatic, when overheating is detected in an area in which a fire is likely to spread to rest of the vehicle.
- an overheating detection of engine temperature can automatically trigger a diffusion of fire-fighting product, product which is a fire extinguisher and / or cooler like foam or water, on the tractor fuel tank 1.
- sensors for effects of a fire such as radiation in one or more wavelength ranges, fumes, and the like, for estimate the effectiveness of fire extinguishers 20, 21.
- the pre-alarm at a temperature T1 lower than a temperature T2 alarm and countermeasures, does not trigger action automatic countermeasures but it allows the driver, warned by console 50, to stop vehicle early enough for a start of overheating, due for example to the brakes or to the motor 44, does not change not in fire.
- the driver can however decide by precaution to activate a fire extinguisher 20, 21 by command of the central unit 11.
- the control of the control means 20 to 23 can therefore originate from an order from a person or be automatically generated from the signal of a sensors 31 to 34.
- the sets to switch fire extinguisher 20, 22, on the one hand, and 21, 23, on the other hand can operate in mutual aid, by mutual supply of the pointers 22, 23.
- the pointers 22 and 23 each comprise for example an additional output supplying on command the opposite switcher 23, 22.
- the driver can thus control, by buttons not shown on the console 50, or by voice command, the refeeding of a switchman 22 or 23 whose associated fire extinguisher 20, 21 has emptied without extinguish the fire or lower the fire sufficiently temperature.
- the central unit 11 can detect the empty state of an activated fire extinguisher 20, 21, or estimate that it is empty when a timeout of one timer circuit 19, launched during activation, expires, so plug in the other fire extinguisher 21, 20 upstream of the active switch 22, 23.
- This passage on the previously inactive extinguisher 21, 20 may however be conditioned by the detection of the continuity of the fire, to avoid emptying the fire extinguisher unnecessarily inactive 21, 20, while another fire may very well declare themselves in the short term, for the same cause, for example the heating of another brake 41F to 43F in a long descent, if that was the case at the start.
- a decrease temperature detected, even remaining above the threshold may indicate that the fire has stopped and avoid starting the other fire extinguisher 21, 20.
- the operation of the central unit 10 is specified below.
- the central unit 11 includes a memory 60 in which four memory blocks 61, 62, 63, 64 are used to store the state of the respective sensors 31 to 34. It can be provided that each block 61 to 64 allows the memorization of a history of the state of the sensor concerned 31 to 34, indicating successive states and the time of each change state.
- the overheating sensors would be of a type providing continuously evolving values, not all or nothing like here, the measured values, analog or digitized, would be sampled cyclically in the ports 12 to 15 to be memorized and, to trigger a alarm, the central unit 11 would carry out a comparison of monitoring between the measurement and the setpoint threshold temperature, the value of which may depend on the type of organ 41 to 44 monitored.
- the memory 60 further comprises two memory blocks 70 and 71 to store commands for activating the respective fire extinguishers 20 and 21 emitted by the central unit 11 through ports 16 and 17.
- blocks of memory 81, 82, 83, 84 are used to memorize the commands of referrals issued to switches 22, 23.
- Each block 81 to 84 therefore represents the activated state of one of the four extinguishing agent lines, i.e. solenoid valves controlling them.
- Two associated blocks, like 81 and 82 for example, may further indicate activation common of the two distribution pipes or arteries, as mentioned above.
- the memory 60 includes a memory block 65 comprising a correspondence table or shuffling, logical position links between each sensor 31 to 34 and at least one of the extinguishing elements 20 to 23.
- Table 65 therefore associates each sensor 31 to 34 with the one or those of the extinguishers 20 and 21 which is there physically associated, i.e. able, in cooperation with the switch 22, 23 associated, to return the measurement of sensor 31 to 34 below the threshold, by cooling the organ monitored 41 to 44 or even extinguishing a fire in the sensor area 31 to 34 considered.
- the central unit 11 reads the correspondence table 65 and deduces therefrom that it is necessary to activate extinguisher 20 and controlling the switch of the signalman 22 on the duct leading to the overheated axle 41.
- Table 65 thus allows the referral back, or loopback, between the alarm input link 31A and the output control link 16A, 16B allowing deliver the extinguishing agent to the sensor area 31 in alarm.
- the corresponding commands are then issued.
- the memory blocks 61, 70 and 81 then receive a bit of data representing the states activated above as input (12) and outlet (16).
- the activated state of block 61 is displayed by the light 51 which lights up.
- the console 50 may include LEDs representing the status blocks of memory 60.
- the central unit 11 can detect a return of the temperature below the threshold, or at minus a tendency to fall back towards the upper threshold, if necessary by additional sensors or by using scalable measurement sensors, not all or nothing like described. If there is no indication of a fallout significant temperature, the CPU 11 can then, after expiration of timer 19, armed when issuing fire-fighting commands, take additional control measures, for example watering of the tank, emergency activation of the extinguisher at rest 21, 20 if the active extinguisher 20, 21 is considered or detected as being emptied.
- Table 65 has for this purpose an additional table, second plan, constituting an extension of the logical links combination of sensors 31 to 34 / extinguishers 20, 21 with switches 22, 23, extension which is consulted by the central processing unit 11 after the timer expires 19.
- the timer 19 then commands the reading of the additional links from table 65.
- the timer 19 commands a reading, in the table 65, of the history, containing states of the sensors 31 to 34 after activation of some of the means extinction (20 to 23). This reading controls activation back up the extinguisher 21, 20 at rest, that is to say that it is only activated if the history does not reveal a extinction of the fire.
- the central 10 could be carried by trailer 2, as long as console 50 remains accessible to the driver.
- Control unit 10 could also be split, i.e. that each element 1, 2 of the road assembly would have its own control device the fire.
- the two central processing units 11 would preferably be linked to exchange data in order to offer the global management possibilities described above.
- Radio transmission circuits may be provided alarms (state of memory 60) to an extension monitoring, for example circuits of a handset wireless telephone to access a network of radiotelephony, like the GSM network. It can also be provided that the radio circuits control the central unit 11 in the manner of the console 50, thus functionally deported, In addition, circuits can also be provided. determining the position of the device, for example GPS, and position data transmission corresponding to radio circuits. These radio circuits and the associated GPS receiver are conventional and therefore do not have been drawn.
- FIG. 4 schematically represents a detector of shocks 101, or inertial unit, connected at the output to the control unit 10 for spraying fire extinguisher 21 liquid.
- the engine temperature alarm device or sensor 34 by detection of exceeding a threshold of temperature setpoint, also controls the control unit 10.
- button 56 allows manual control of activation of the control unit 10. Pressing the button 56 is protected by an anti-command device 57 nuisance, such as a removable cover or rotary push-button, "turn-push".
- an anti-command device 57 nuisance such as a removable cover or rotary push-button, "turn-push”.
- the shock detector 101, the alarm device temperature 34, and button 56 are like this functionally in parallel at the output to control the central unit 10. An associated button for manual control of the switcher 23, has not been drawn.
- the shock detector 101 comprises, in this example, a metal ball 111 plated by one end of a metal spring 112 here in a helix, against a cup 110 connected to the electrical ground.
- the opposite end of the spring 112 is connected to a supply voltage, here +12 volts, through a resistor 113.
- a circuit amplifier 114 is connected at the input to the downstream end of resistance 113.
- the shock detector 101 is provided for, between others, allow mounting on the rear left of the vehicle, which is the most likely place of shock for a slow moving vehicle, such as a tank truck or trailer vehicle.
- the principle of the internal assembly of the shock detector is preferably of safety type intrinsic, i.e. it provides an alarm by disappearance of an alarm blocking signal.
- the device 101 consists of a wire loop comprising, in series, the cup 110 and the ball 111, the control unit 10 detecting any cut in the loop.
- the control unit 10 includes an amplifier 121 of control of a pyrotechnic device 211 for triggering a charge for activating a bottle of the extinguisher 21, releasing a pressurized liquid.
- the bottle 21 is connected at the outlet, through the switch 23, to a liquid diffusion ramp 153, comprising a longitudinal tube provided with a row of four nozzles diffusion 154, 155, 156, 157 evenly distributed.
- the ramp of diffusion 153 is intended to be placed near a organ of the vehicle to be protected, here the engine 44.
- the central unit 10 has an output 122 for controlling deactivation, inhibiting electrical circuits of the vehicle.
- Output 122 is controlled by the central inertial 101, to cut the power supply to vehicle power components.
- the device temperature alarm 34 does not control output 122, in order to avoid, in case of detection of excessive heating, unexpected loss of the engine brake, which may cause an accident.
- the button 56 however allows then activate output 122.
- the temperature alarm device 34 includes a cable 130 having a pair of adjacent wires electrical conductors 131 and 132 (not drawn in detail) between which a layer of a insulating material 133, with a melting point corresponding to a set point, here 138 ° C, to establish, in case of exceeding the threshold, a conduction between the two wires 131, 132, controlling the activation of the diffusion nozzles 154 to 157, through an amplifier 134 connected at output to the control unit 10.
- a cable 130 having a pair of adjacent wires electrical conductors 131 and 132 (not drawn in detail) between which a layer of a insulating material 133, with a melting point corresponding to a set point, here 138 ° C, to establish, in case of exceeding the threshold, a conduction between the two wires 131, 132, controlling the activation of the diffusion nozzles 154 to 157, through an amplifier 134 connected at output to the control unit 10.
