Abstract

L'invention concerne un procédé d'utilisation d'un moteur essence à combustion interne à injection directe (1), notamment d'un véhicule, l'essence étant injectée directement dans une chambre de combustion (4) du moteur à combustion interne (1) et une étincelle d'allumage étant allumée dans la chambre de combustion (4). L'invention vise à garantir un allumage sûr et fiable d'un mélange carburant-air contenu dans la chambre de combustion (4) au moyen d'une tension d'allumage relativement faible, malgré un écart d'électrode relativement important d'une bougie d'allumage (10) du moteur à combustion interne (1). A cet effet, l'étincelle d'allumage est allumée avant le début de l'injection (45) et la durée de combustion (44) de l'étincelle est maintenue jusqu'à la fin de l'injection (45).
