  • the slow-return or non-return valve 18, which is arranged advantageously in said lower portion 25 of the delivery duct 13 between the pump 12 and the pressure sensor 17, allows the passage of the washing water from the pump 12, but delays and/or prevents the backflow of the water from the section 14 containing the resistance 15 towards the pump, ensuring a filling level of the section 14 such that the resistance 15 is always immersed in the water during the heating phases and during the delayed cooling phases owing to the thermal inertia of the resistance 15.
  • the pump 12 draws the washing water from the water mains or from the storage basin 10 and conveys it, via the delivery duct 13, to the spraying means 8. If the step in the washing or rinsing programme requires heating of the washing water, the resistance 15 inside the section 14 of the delivery duct 13 is supplied with electric current and, heating up, heats the washing water passing through said section 14.
  • the pressure sensor 17 actuates the microswitch 16, which reduces or interrupts the current supply of the resistance 15, thus preventing overheating of said resistance 15 and the walls of the delivery duct 13.
  • the slow-return or non-return valve 18 delays or prevents backflow of the water from the section 14 containing the resistance 15 towards the pump 12, so as to ensure that the electrical resistance 15, which is now deactivated, but still hot owing to its thermal inertia, is immersed in the water for the period during which it cools.
