Die Aktivierung der Bremsung kann aufgrund eines Nothaltes oder eines fehlerhaften Ansprechens eines Sicherheitselementes erfolgen. Die Geschwindigkeit v der Personenfördereinrichtung wird also mit einer definierten Verzögerung auf den Wert 0 m/s gebracht. Zum Zeitpunkt t0 wird die Bremsrampe 1 des Frequenzumrichters 2 aktiviert und im wesentlichen gleichmässig verzögert gebremst. Zum Zeitpunkt t1, kurz vor dem Stehenbleiben der Personenfördereinrichtung, fällt die Haltebremse 3 ein.
