Die Unterteilung der beiden Kanäle durch je einen Steg in zwei Halbkanäle, die komplett mit einem steiferen Schaumstoffkern ausgefüllt sind, hat den Vorteil einer härteren Abstützung im Hüft- oder Kreuzbereich als dies mit den bisherigen, die Kanäle nicht voll ausfüllenden Kernen der Fall war. Alles in allem gewährleistet die erfindungsgemäße Matratze, daß sich bei einem Menschen in Rückenlage der natürliche Schwung seines Rückgrates einstellt, wogegen bei Seitenlage jegliche seitliche Verkrümmung der Wirbelsäule hintangehalten wird.
