Claims (21)

  1. A seat-recliner fitting for motor-driven adjustment of the inclination of a back rest (1) and motor-driven extension and retraction of a two-part leg support (3A, 3B), characterised in that the fitting is completely pre-assembled at the factory between two side plates (4) connected by cross-members (40, 41), a side wall (42) with an arm rest being fixed to each side plate; in that seat-fitting links (24, 34A) are directly or indirectly pivoted to each side plate (4) and are pivoted to an assembly bracket (20) for fixing a seat frame (2) and extending approximately along the length thereof, and the leg support parts (3A, 3B) are directly or indirectly pivoted to scissor support links (34 - 37) to form support fitting links which respectively bear the leg supports (3A, 3B) on angle pieces (30A, 30B) and an assembly plate (10, 10B) for holding a back rest frame (1) is directly or indirectly pivoted to the assembly bracket (20) and a transverse back rest member (12, 12B) is disposed between the assembly plates (10, 10B) on each side and a transverse seat member (22) is disposed between the assembly brackets (20) on each side and a drive element (13) of a back rest adjusting motor (11) extends between the transverse seat member (22) and the transverse back rest member (12, 12B) and a transverse scissor member (32) extends between the two scissor links (34, 35), and a drive element (33) of a leg-support drive motor (31) extends between the member (32) and one of the cross-members (40, 41) or the drive element (33) of the leg-support motor (31) extends between a cross-member (40) and a transverse member (22A) disposed between the assembly brackets (20).
  2. A seat-recliner fitting according claim 1, characterised in that an extension (20B) is integrally formed on each assembly bracket (20) of the seat (2) and projects beyond the back of the seat (2) and to half way up its height and the assembly plate (10) of the back rest (1) is pivoted to its end region.
  3. A seat-recliner fitting according claim 1, characterised in that an extension (20B) is integrally formed on each assembly bracket (20) of the seat (2) and extends downwards on the rear seat region and a scissor back rest link (14 - 17) is pivoted to it and extends backwards and upwards, where it is pivoted to an assembly plate (10B) fixed to the back rest (1).
  4. A seat-recliner fitting according claim 3, characterised in that the transverse member (12B) is bent backwards and extends between the assembly plates (10B).
  5. A seat-recliner fitting according claim 3 or 4, characterised in that the scissor back-rest links (14 - 17) are so disposed and constructed that upholstery on the back rest (1) is in contact with upholstery on the seat (2) at each inclination of the back rest, and the scissor back-rest links (14 - 17) and the assembly plate (10B) are covered by the upholstery.
  6. A seat-recliner fitting according any of the preceding claims, characterised in that the drive elements (13, 33) of the motors (11, 31) are adjustment spindles.
  7. A seat-recliner fitting according any of the preceding claims, characterised in that the scissor support links (34 - 37) when in the retracted state extend from the front seat region approximately to the floor, and the leg supports (3A, 3B) are spaced apart one behind the other so that the front leg support (3B) almost completely closes a front region under the seat (2).
  8.   9. A seat-recliner fitting according any of the preceding claims, characterised in that the seat-side scissor support links (34, 35) are disposed one above the other and the front scissor support links (36, 37) are disposed on each side of the rear links.
  10. A seat-recliner fitting according any of the preceding claims, characterised in that the seat-side scissor support links (34, 35) are so disposed that in all positions they are separated by at least a finger's breadth.
  11. A seat-recliner fitting according any of the preceding claims, characterised in that the outer front scissor support link (37) has a width such that in all positions it overlaps the inner scissor support link (36).
  12. A seat-recliner fitting according any of the preceding claims, characterised in that the top seat-side support link (34), on the other side of its direct or indirect articulation to the side plate (4), extends further than the front seat fitting link (34A) up to the joint to the assembly bracket (20) and is shorter than the rear seat fitting link (24) and is such relative thereto that when the leg supports (3A, 3B) are extended the seat frame (2) is lower at the front and further to the rear than when the leg supports (3A, 3B) are retracted, and the seat frame (2) at the rear is approximately always at the same height when moved backwards and forwards on adjustment of the leg supports.
  13. A seat-recliner fitting according any of the preceding claims, characterised in that the transverse member (22A) between the assembly brackets (20) is disposed on downwardly directed extensions of the assembly brackets (20) or on rocking levers (43) pivotable on the side plates (4).
  14. A seat-recliner fitting according any of the preceding claims, characterised in that the support fitting links (34) are additionally pivotable on the assembly brackets (20).
  15. A seat-recliner fitting according claim 14, characterised in that the support fitting links (34) on the assembly brackets (20) are pivotable at the points of articulation of the seat fitting links (34A).
  16. A seat-recliner fitting according claim 14 or 15, characterised in that the support fitting links (34) are formed with slots (34B) at the points of articulation on the assembly brackets (20).
  17. A seat-recliner fitting according claim 16, characterised in that the slots (34B) on the support fitting rods (34) have a low-friction construction.
  18. A seat-recliner fitting according claim 17, characterised in that the slots (34B) have plastic bushes (34C) and the bolts (34) guided in the bushes (34C) are provided with a suitable plastic bush (34D).
  19. A seat-recliner fitting according any of the preceding claims, characterised in that the scissor back-rest links (14 - 17) are multi-part scissors like a lazy tongs.
  20. A seat-recliner fitting according any of the preceding claims, characterised in that the assembly brackets (20) on the seat-side angle limb and/or the side plates (4) comprise centring bolts (18) and screw holes (19), and the seat frame (2) and side walls (42) are adjusted in position and held and screwed in matching centring boreholes.
  21. A seat-recliner fitting according any of the preceding claims, characterised in that the transverse members (12, 22, 22A, 32) and/or the cross-members (40, 41) are tubes which are held in boreholes and releasably or permanently connected.
