Claims (14)

  1. Terminal block, with:
    a) a housing (4) made from an insulating material,
    b) at least one connection device (10, 12) arranged in the insulating housing (4) for the connection of at least one electric conductor which comprises at least one conducting core and insulation surrounding the said conducting core, such that the connecting device (10, 12) comprises a contact spring (18) with a contact blade (20) for cutting through the insulation of the electric conductor and a contact area (24) for contacting the conducting core,
    c) such that the contact spring (18) is formed as one end of a current rail portion that forms a cutting rail (40),
    d) such that the end of the cutting rail (40) remote from the contact spring is formed integrally with a plug contact element (42) designed as the cutting rail with a plug tab (44) and a socket contact (46) joined integrally thereto,
    characterised in that
    e) the plug tab (44) and the socket contact (46) are orientated perpendicularly to the main extension plane of the terminal block and parallel to the supporting rail device, and
    f) the plug tab (44) is designed to engage in the socket contact (46) of the next terminal block to be added in line on the supporting rail (T) so that in the direction along the supporting rail a transverse connection extending over a plurality of terminal blocks is formed.
  2. Terminal block according to Claim 1, characterised in that in the area of its front and rear sides the insulating housing is provided with respective cut-outs (54, 56), such that the plug tab (44) projects out of the insulating housing (44) through one cut-out (54), and such that the cut-out (56) on the opposite side of the insulating housing (4) is designed to enable the plug tab (42) to be inserted into the socket contact (44).
  3. Terminal block according to either of the preceding claims, characterised in that on the insulating housing a plug protector (58) for the plug tab (44) is formed in the supporting rail direction or perpendicular to the main extension plane of the terminal block.
  4. Terminal block according to any of the preceding claims, characterised in that two spring contact arms (48, 50) opposite one another and connected to one another by a connecting strip (52) form the socket contact (46) at their free ends.
  5. Terminal block according to any of the preceding claims, characterised in that the plug tab (44) at the free end of one of the spring contact arms (48) of the cutting rail (40) is arranged as an extension of the said arm (48) parallel to its end edge.
  6. Terminal block according to any of the preceding claims, characterised in that in the direction of the opposite spring contact arm (48) the plug tab (42) is bent in such manner that its central plane coincides with the central plane located half-way between the two spring contact arms (48, 50).
