Abstract

The method for winding paper or cardboard webs comprises a reel change process in which the nip (22) between the old reel (16) and a support roller (18) is maintained while the nip (22') between the support roller and a new core (14') is adjusted. The linear force in the new nip is then adjusted by moving the support roller. An Independent claim is included for a winding machine for carrying out the process.
