Abstract

The process for winding a paper or cardboard web (12) comprises feeding it over a carrier roller and forming a nip between this and a drum. When the drum is full, the web is cut by cutters (26) which begin cutting near the edges of the web and move towards the middle where the cuts meet. The web is then transferred to a new, empty drum. An Independent claim is included for a winding machine for carrying out the process.
