Abstract

The vehicle comprises a main towing vehicle (1) and a semi-trailer (3), the latter replacing a misson module on the main vehicle. Description

The invention relates to an armored transport vehicle according to the features indicated in the preamble of claim 1.

Such an armored vehicle is composed of the usual parts such as drive motor, gearboxes, wheelsets or chain drive, a crew room and a housing that houses all inputs and attachments together. In particular, in a rifle fighting vehicle several soldiers are transported by the vehicle, which can quickly get out or sit on a tailgate. In another type of vehicle, the armored transport vehicle, abbreviated GTK, the vehicle is divided into modules and housed a so-called mission module replaceable on the chassis or drive module. Various armaments and equipment can then be carried alternately as a module interchangeably on the vehicle. In a vehicle variant, a rolling command post is displayed as a command vehicle, in which several soldiers in the vehicle to act on maps or data devices.

Since the base vehicle is designed as a family vehicle in which geometric size and heavy weight mean a general negative criterion for plausible reasons, the representation of the command vehicle based on the family vehicle is a particular interior and space problem in the design of the specific vehicle.

The known solutions have, for example, the disadvantage that the working space of the crew due to a given vehicle size, which is kept as small as possible due to other criteria, is very limited and the performance is reduced because of the tight space conditions.

In "The Ultimate Off-Roader", published June 2001 in Automotive Engineer, a vehicle consisting of two modules is described. One module is referred to as a driving module and the other module as a mission module. The mission module is equipped differently, depending on its function, but always the same in the signature.

From the GB 1 247 024 as well as FR 2 504 669 Semi-trailers are known in the military context, which once serve for the accommodation of soldiers or as a mobile shooting range.

The object of the invention is to provide a command post with sufficient working space for several soldiers and for the required equipment and fixtures on a known vehicle.

This object is achieved by the characterizing features of claim 1. Further features emerge from the subclaims.

According to the invention, instead of the mission module (2), a semi-trailer coupling (5) and further parts (4) required for operation of the command vehicle are installed on a known vehicle (1). A semi-trailer (3) is pulled by the vehicle (1). In this semi-trailer, all internals that are specific to the command post vehicle are installed, unless they can be accommodated in the base vehicle (1).

The advantages of the invention are that the work area and the work space for the operator in the trailer is increased as a command post at full standing height and on the other hand, the vehicle is little changed in its structure and silhouette while driving compared to the other vehicle variants of the vehicle family, namely only in the Fährzeuglänge, if the trailer is included. In addition, all operators can constantly work under armored protection in the vehicle interior, which may be necessary at times, and at least partial operation while driving is in addition to the stand operation possible. The semi-trailer can also be operated separately as a command post with appropriate external energy supply and equipment. For this purpose, the trailer coupling can be designed so that without additional equipment and tools, the towing vehicle and the semi-trailer can be separated and connected. Claims (10)

1. Armoured transport vehicle (1, 2) having a wheel or chain drive and having a drive for forward movement and a vehicle structure for accommodation and installation of all the components for operation of the vehicle, including a vehicle crew and a rear hatch at the rear of the vehicle, and equipment as a fighting vehicle, characterized in that

   • the entire vehicle is formed from a basic vehicle (1) as the prime mover and an attached semitrailer (3),

   • required fittings and equipment for the fighting vehicle are distributed on a structure and parts (4) of the basic vehicle and on the semitrailer (3),

   • the semitrailer (3) replaces a mission module (2), which is otherwise located on the basic vehicle (1) can be removed, is interchangeable and is mounted on the top and bottom on the basic vehicle (1) as a payload,

   • with a front part (6) of the semitrailer (3) and a semitrailer coupling (5) which is fitted to the basic vehicle (1) being arranged in place of the mission module (2).
2. Armoured transport vehicle according to Claim 1, characterized in that a working area in the semitrailer (3) is of sufficient height to stand completely upright.
3. Armoured transport vehicle according to Claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the semitrailer can be operated separately in its own right as a fighting vehicle, with an appropriate external power supply and installation.
4. Armoured transport vehicle according to one of Claims 1 to 3, characterized in that operators work behind armour protection in the vehicle interior all the time.
5. Armoured transport vehicle according to one of Claims 1 to 4, characterized in that operation is also possible, at least at times, while driving, in addition to operation when stationary.
6. Armoured transport vehicle according to one of Claims 1 to 5, characterized in that the trailer coupling can be designed such that the prime mover and the trailer can be connected and disconnected without any additional equipment and tools.
7. Apparatus according to one of Claims 1 to 6, characterized in that a rear hatch (8) is fitted to the semitrailer (3), in addition to other hatches and doors, via which the crew can enter and exit.
8. Apparatus according to one of Claims 1 to 7, characterized in that a closable rear hatch 7 for entry and exit is installed at the rear of the vehicle (1).
9. Apparatus according to Claim 8, characterized in that a further hatch or door is fitted to the trailer (3) as an emergency exit or entry, opposite the rear hatch (7), at the rear of the vehicle (1).
10. Apparatus according to one of Claims 1 to 9, characterized in that the structure (4) on the vehicle (1) closes the interior of the vehicle off from the outside and, if appropriate, contains an aperture or a closable door from the interior to the outside.
