Abstract

The dispenser for use with a reel (2) of joint sealing tape comprises a box (8), in which the reel fits, lying on its side. One edge has a triangular slot (25) in it, through which the folded end (11) of the tape can be pulled. The tape has a longitudinal score (11a) to assist folding.

Description

There are many flat and narrow, long-length products presented spirally wound to form a reel which they can be unwound for use.

Among these products, there are some that must be put in place in a form other than flat, including joints for the construction that must be placed in salient or re-entrant angles.

This setting up is inconvenient because it is necessary on the one hand to unroll a certain length of the element and on the other hand to conform this one along all this length, either in one time before setting up, or as and when as a certain length of element has been positioned.

The handling of the reels is in itself impractical because of their own instability which causes them either to roll on the ground when they are no longer held by the unrolled element, or to twist the element on itself when released. a reel while maintaining a certain length of unwound element. The element itself is difficult to handle as soon as it is cut into segments because it tends to spiral back.

These coils are sometimes packaged in containers generally cardboard but it does not simplify their handling or especially the establishment of the element in small successive lengths in locations often difficult access.

• Sur la figure 1, on observe qu'il y a une seule épaisseur de carton traversée par une ouverture « profilée » pour contraindre l'élément de grande longueur à se déformer, ce qui montre que la solution proposée par ce brevet ne tient pas compte de la nécessité de créer une filière robuste sur au moins deux épaisseurs de carton, ce qui est précisément la solution de l'invention étudiée, laquelle néglige complètement le fait que l'extrémité libre de l'élément de grande longueur puisse dépasser le contour de la boîte, cette disposition étant considérée comme mineure.
• FR 2 565 945 (appartenant au Déposant) qui n'explicite pas comment la filière est conçue et se borne à décrire une ouverture devant donner à l'élément de grande longueur une forme différente de celle qu'il a quand il est enroulé en spirale. Nulle part ce document de décrit une filière continue sur au moins deux épaisseurs.
• DE G 88 03 277.9 qui décrit un ensemble du même type que celui de FR2 787 094, c'est-à-dire ayant une boîte dont une paroi présente une ouverture intérieure de formage sur une seule épaisseur et une ouverture extérieure de plus grande étendue.

• FR 2 565 945 (belonging to the Depositor) which does not explain how the die is designed and is limited to describing an opening to give the element of great length a shape different from that which it has when it is wound in a spiral . Nowhere does this document describe a continuous die on at least two thicknesses.
• DE G 88 03 277.9 which describes an assembly of the same type as that of FR2 787 094, that is to say having a box whose wall has an inner opening forming a single thickness and an outer opening of greater extent .

There is no reference here to the constitution of a die on at least two thicknesses.

The present invention proposes a different solution from those which are the subject of these documents, which overcomes all the drawbacks mentioned above and which makes it possible to achieve a very practical and inexpensive set.

To this end, the subject of the invention is an assembly comprising on the one hand a cardboard container set in volume by folding of panels and, on the other hand, a coil formed by an element of length that is large relative to its width and wound on itself in independent turns leaving free an end of said element, this container having on the one hand a cover and on the other hand a body formed of a bottom and side walls, an opening being made in at least one of body wall, opening which has a section different from that of the wound element and through which said element must be extracted from the closed body by the cover, characterized in that the wall which has an opening is formed by at least two thicknesses of panels juxtaposed by folding, one of which constitutes the inner face of the body of the container and the other the outer face of said body, this opening having a section of the same shape in all the juxtaposed panels, afi n to form a die in which the free end of the element is introduced from the inside and protrudes outside the container, so that one can extract said element by traction by forcing its original section to take the form of the section of the opening by longitudinal folding, as and when extraction of said element.

The invention will be better understood from the detailed description given below with reference to the accompanying drawing. Of course, the description and the drawing are given only by way of indicative and nonlimiting example.

Figure 1 is a plan view of a blank of cardboard cut and grooved according to the invention.

FIG. 2 is a diagrammatic perspective view of an assembly according to the invention, the lid of which is open to enable the inside of the container to be observed, and obtained by folding the blank of FIG.

Figure 3 is a plan view of a blank of cardboard cut and grooved according to a particular embodiment of the invention.

FIG. 4 is a partial schematic perspective view showing the container obtained from the blank of FIG. 3.

Referring to the drawing, we see an assembly that comprises two essential components, namely a container 1 and a coil 2.

Here, the container 1 is formed from a single blank to present after mounting a body 3 and a lid 4. The body 3 comprises a bottom 5 secured to three peripheral walls, a front 6 and two side 7 and 8, and a fourth peripheral wall 9 integral with the cover 4, which is provided with a closing tab 10.

The coil 2 is formed by the spiral winding of an element of great length 11 to form a joint between two plates (not shown), as is known per se.

With the example shown, the container 1 is a corrugated cardboard box obtained in one piece in a blank cut and grooved and optionally printed, whose peripheral walls 6, 7 and 8 are double thickness, that is to say each of them has an outer portion 12, 13 and 14 and an inner portion respectively 15, 16 and 17 folded against each other along a double crease line 18 which simultaneously forms the upper edge of the body 3.

The bottom 5 is traversed by openings 19 intended to receive tabs 20 that each of the three inner parts 15, 16 and 17 of the peripheral walls 6, 7 and 8 present. Thus, after having straightened the outer parts 12, 13 and 14, and folded the inner portions 15, 16 and 17, the tabs 20 each enter an opening 19 where it is blocked.

The outer portions 13 and 14 have extensions 21 and 22 folded towards each other and intersecting to form a rear peripheral wall 23 independent of the cover 4. As is known per se, the two extensions 21 and 22 gathered here to each other by interlocking notches 21a and 22a, as is known per se, but they could also be attached to one another by glue, staple or similar .

The front wall 6 is traversed by a slot 24 located on the double creasing line 18 and allowing the closing tab 10 to penetrate between the outer part 12 and the part 15 inside the wall 6 after folding the cover 4 over the body 3, to maintain it in the closed position.

This same front wall 6 has two openings 25 which respectively pass through the outer part 12 and the inner part 15, and which has an isosceles triangle shape whose apex is close to the vertical edge 26 with respect to which the front wall 6 and the side wall 7 are adjacent.

The outer portions 13 and the inner portion 16 of the side wall 7 are extended by tabs 27 and 28 which also have openings 25 of the same isosceles triangle shape as those of the transverse wall 6 and whose top is in the vicinity a fold line 29 which, after folding and straightening of the walls of the body 3 constitutes the vertical edge 26.

The side wall 8 is symmetrical with the side wall 7 but here only the outer part 14 has a tab 30 which it is secured by a fold line 31.

To mount the box that has just been described, the inner part 16 is first lifted and folded on the outer part 13, so that the tab 27 is flat against the tab 28, thus putting from one another the two openings 25.

Then, at the same time, the tabs 27 and 28 are straightened along the fold line 29.

Similarly, the inner part 17 is raised and folded on the outer part 14, then the tab 30 is raised along the fold line 31. Then the side walls 7 and 8 are straightened, and the tabs 20 each of these inner parts in a slot 19 of the bottom 5.

Then, the transverse wall 6 is straightened out and the inner part 15 which is locked by means of its lug 20 which is engaged in the corresponding slot 19 is folded towards the center. We end the body 3 of the case by engaging one into the other notches 21a and 22a, which gives the body 3 throughout its stability.

The three main walls 6, 7 and 8 have a height H which is coordinated at the height of the coil 2 and which is designed so that the closed container 1 can be easily taken by one hand.

In this situation, all the triangular openings 25 are located facing each other, since at this point there are four thicknesses juxtaposed, the vertex of the isosceles triangle being close to the side wall 7.

Place the new coil 2 in the body 3, flat on the bottom 5, and the dimensions of this bottom 5, limited by the four walls 6, 7, 8 and 9 are chosen to wrap the coil 2 which, thus, is inscribed in the volume of the body 3, the bottom 5 being square since the coil is circular.

Then the free end of the element 11 is disengaged from the inside to the outside of the body 3 through the openings 25 along the arrow F1, which forces the element 11 to be longitudinally folded along a line median 11a giving it a V-shaped profile corresponding to the cross section of the four aligned apertures 25.

The cover 4 can then be folded down and the tab 10 introduced into the slot where it locks because of its particular shape. These provisions are well known in themselves and the skilled person knows very accurately determine the shapes and relative dimensions of the tab 10 and the slot 24.

However, the particular use of this box, according to the invention, allows to never again have to open the box by lifting the lid 4 as the element 11 is not completely out of the box, so that it may be advantageous to reinforce the fastening of the body 3 and the cover 4, either by means of adhesive tape, or with glue or other known means.

So that the end of the element 11 which protrudes out of the box is not a gene, it is possible to draw outside a sufficient length to fold and fold it either under the bottom 5 or against the wall transverse 6 by holding it there by tape, for example.

It has thus been achieved the object of the invention, ready for distribution and sale.

The outside of the box can be printed to present marks, diagrams, mentions and identification marks of the content, namely the technical specification of the element 11 and the instructions for use of the set.

To use the object of the invention just described, it releases if necessary the end of the element 11 which protrudes out of the box by being pre-folded in V and extracted from the a certain length depending on the work to be done.

The user cuts the element 11 to good length; the end protruding from the box 1 is either pushed partially inside the box, or brought under the bottom 5 or against the wall 6, or left free for later use.

By exerting traction on the element 11, the user simultaneously causes its shaping, which requires a certain effort which must be cashed by the box 1, at the point where this effort is maximum, namely to the passage in force of the openings 25, where precisely four layers have been stacked in order to reinforce the wall 6 which thus perfectly resists this effort.

In addition, these four thicknesses form a kind of tunnel which behaves like a forming die facilitating the easy extraction of the element 11 by traction.

The four openings 25 may be identical but according to a particular embodiment of the invention, they are different, that is to say that the "inlet" opening on the inside of the box has the widest passage while the "outlet" opening 25 on the outer face of the box has the narrowest passage section, the two intermediate openings themselves being unequal and ensuring the continuity of the tunnel, so that the forming of the element 11 is done gradually, which ensures easy removal of the element 11, even if the latter is relatively rigid and folding requires some effort.

This arrangement is visible in FIG.

It is also possible to strengthen the edges of the openings by means of a rigid flange, for example of stamped metal, reported by crimping in the manner of an eyelet.

This arrangement also allows to fit in the carton of the box openings of any shape, the desired passage section being given by the form of the reported rigid rim. It is therefore possible to constitute the entire tunnel by an insert and having an inner face and an outer face to the box, the length between these two faces being that of the tunnel that we want to give it depending on the rigidity of the element 11.

It is to ensure this localized robustness where the maximum force is manifested that the tab 27 is provided to double the tab 28, which requires the presence of the inner portion 16 whose tab 27 is secured.

On the other hand, the opposite side wall 8 not participating in the forming structure of the element 11, does not need to be doubled and to save the board surface, the inner part 17 could be eliminated and, therefore, , the legs 20 and the openings 19 of the corresponding bottom 5.

The wall 6, on the contrary, participating in the creation of the forming tunnel justifies its structure in double thickness 12 - 15.

If, however, the element 11 is light, flexible and not very adherent to its own successive turns on the coil 2, it exerts on the die a low effort, in which case it would be enough to juxtapose three thicknesses or even two only by removing the inner portion 16 (and thus the tab 27) and / or the inner portion 15.

To facilitate the forming of the element 11, it can be marked during its manufacture, so that it has a central pre-folding line 11 a central, which is located at the top of the triangle constituting the passage section of the forming die.

With the embodiment just described, the spool 2 is placed freely on the bottom 5 and as it decreases in diameter by successive windings of its turns, the free strand is presented to the spinneret. forming at a variable angle and this can create more or less favorable conditions, in particular by causing significant friction or blockages of the element 11 when pulling on it from the outside.

To avoid these drawbacks, it is possible to provide guiding and orientation means internal to the box so that the element 11 is always exactly in front of the forming die.

Referring to Figures 3 and 4, we see an example of such means, the same elements as the previous with the same references.

The inner part 16 is cut along two parallel lines 41 and 42 to determine a tab 43 articulated at its upper part as is the inner part 16, and provided with a tongue 44 to which corresponds an opening 45 of the bottom 5.

At the time of assembly of the body 3 of the box 1, the tab 43 is left free and the coil 2 is placed on the bottom 5, as before.

A small length is drawn from the free end 11b of the element 11, it is placed against the internal face of the side wall 7, the tab 43 is folded over this strand 11b along the arrow F3, and the block the tab 43 by introducing the tongue 44 into the opening 45.

Thus, the free strand 11b , as one unwinds turns, is presented at an angle variable not to the forming die but to the entrance of the guide formed by the tab 43. Beyond of this guide, the strand 11b is linear and always presents itself to the forming die in the optimum conditions, for all the values of the diameter of the coil.

The guide can be made in a different way, including by means of an insert, especially if the element 11 is relatively rigid and its progress requires effort because it is carried on the guide.

The invention is particularly applicable to the use of jointing strips used in the building, especially for grouting plaster boards, but also for setting up metal and plastic complex strips to be engaged in angles. re-entrant or salient, or in relatively narrow slots.

In particular, the opening 25 may be given a section other than triangular, depending on the shape to be assumed by the element 11. If, for example, the element 11 must have two lateral wings integral with a central core to have a U-shape, the opening 25 may be square or rectangular, L, W.

In this case, the element 11 may be marked with several longitudinal crease lines arranged in a manner coordinated with the shape of the die.

The invention makes it possible to form flat strips of any material: paper, synthetic material, woven or non-woven textiles, metal strip, plastic or composite, including coated with adhesive on one or both of their faces and receiving a protective tape ( especially silicone paper).

According to the rigidity of the element 11 and according to the importance of the forming, it is possible to arrange a preforming ring in the box, preparing the element 11 just before it enters the die of the openings 25.

Claims (8)

1. Assembly comprising on the one hand a cardboard container assembled by folding panels and on the other hand a spool formed by an element which is of great length with respect to its width and is wound on itself in independent turns leaving one end of the said element free, this container having on the one hand a lid and on the other hand a body formed by a base and lateral walls, an opening being produced in at least one of the walls of the body, this opening having a cross-section which is different from that of the wound element and via which the said element must be extracted from the body closed by the lid, characterised in that the wall (6) which has an opening (25) is formed by at least two thicknesses of panels (12-15, 27-28) juxtaposed by folding, one (27) of which constitutes the inner face of the body (3) of the container and the other (12) the outer face of the said body (3), this opening (25) having a cross-section of the same shape in all the juxtaposed panels (12-15, 27-28) in order to form an aperture into which the free end of the element (11) is introduced from the inside and protrudes to the outside of the container in order that the said element (11) can be extracted by pulling while its original cross-section is forced to adopt the shape of the cross-section of the opening (25) by folding longitudinally as the said element (11) is extracted.
2. Assembly as claimed in claim 1, characterised in that the element (11) has at least one longitudinal pre-folding line (11a).
3. Assembly as claimed in claim 1, characterised in that since the element (11) has to be folded longitudinally in order to present two spaced-apart wings in a V shape, the opening (25) is triangular.
4. Assembly as claimed in claim 3, characterised in that the triangle is an isosceles triangle, its height is perpendicular to the width of the wound element (11) and its apex is located in the proximity of an edge (26) of the wall (6) containing the opening (25).
5. Assembly as claimed in claim 1, characterised in that the opening (25) has a cross-section tapering from the inside of the container towards the outside.
6. Assembly as claimed in claim 1, characterised in that the opening (25) is provided with at least one attached rigid edge.
7. Assembly as claimed in claim 1, characterised in that the body (3) of the container (1) has a guide (43) located close to the inner face of a lateral wall (7) and with which the element (11) must cooperate in order to be held in a straight line close to this wall (7) between the said guide (43) and the opening (25) located essentially in alignment with the guide (43) in the wall (6) adjacent to the previous wall (7).

Assembly as claimed in claim 1, characterised in that the base (5) of the container (1) is square and the spool (2) is disposed flat against it, the diameter of the spool (2) before extraction of the element (11) being circumscribed by four walls (6, 7, 8 and 9) fixedly attached to the base (5) and standing perpendicular thereto over a height (H) permitting the said container (1) to be easily grasped by a human hand.
