      b) reverse said second drive means (26, 27) for a long enough period of time for the envelope (12) and its flap (14) to be turned back toward and into the pressing member (2, 3),
      c) activate and then release the pressing member (2, 3), to stick the flap (14) to the envelope,
      d) resume the movement of the second drive means (26, 27) forward to drive the envelope (12) out of the pressing member (2, 3) and out of the closing station, and
      e) retract the pressing member (2, 3) again.
    2. The device as claimed in claim 1, characterized in that the closing station comprises envelope-flap moistening means (15, 16, 17).
    3. The device as claimed in either of claims 1 and 2, characterized in that the first and/or the second drive means consist of pairs of drive rollers (21, 22 ; 26, 27).
    4. The device as claimed in any of claims 1 to 3, characterized in that the pressing member consists of a pivoting table (2) associated with a pressing shoe (3), the table and the shoe being connected to control mechanisms (32, 35).
    5. The device as claimed in claim 4, characterized in that the pressing shoe (3) consists of a sheet with a rolled edge.
