Definitions
- the present invention relates to a hook for fixing mechanical tiles mounted overlap on roof battens.
- the known device to date consists of an extended hook of a tab that attaches, by a nailing operation, to a batten.
- this hook is not universal. It requires to have two models, one for fixing on tiles overlapping to the right, the other for fixing on tiles overlapping to the left.
- the need for fixing hooks of two types increases the inventory at the roofers.
- the operation of laying such a hook is tedious because it requires, at each laying step, a nailing operation. This results in excessive wearer fatigue and risk in the nailing operation.
- He is also known by GB-A-2101172 a hook consisting of two diverging branches connected at one of their ends by a spiral loop forming a spring.
- the opposite ends of the branches are in turn shaped to extend one in the plane passing through divergent branches, the other to form an angle of 90 ° with this plane.
- the end of the branch extending in the plane is terminated by a point used exclusively for fixing the hook to the batten while the other end is intended to come to marry a rim of the tile.
- An object of the present invention is to provide a new fastening hook whose design allows this hook to be universal and to position themselves indifferently on the longitudinal banks right or left tiles and in a very short time.
- Another object of the present invention is to provide a fixing hook adapted to be located at the bottom of the tile and whose design allows, for a surface of one square meter, to fix all the tiles without significantly increasing the number of hooks use.
- Another object of the present invention is to provide a fastening hook whose fastener design allows to put the hook without additional member and in an extremely short time.
- Another object of the present invention is to provide a fastening hook whose design of the ends of the branches allows adaptation to all types of tiles existing on the market.
- the object of the invention is a hook for fastening overlapping mechanical tiles on roof battens, the hook being specially shaped to maintain the lower transverse edge of a tile, covering the upper transverse edge of the roof.
- a tile next in the direction of the roof, to a batt support of the overlap area of said tiles, this hook being constituted by two divergent branches connected at one of their ends by at least one loop of spiral shape spring-forming device for tensioning the branches when they are under tension, characterized in that the free ends of the branches are on the one hand bent towards the inter-branch space, on the other hand oriented to extend from the same side of the plane passing through the diverging branches and the mouth.
- the hook 1, which is the subject of the invention, is more particularly intended for fixing mechanical tiles 2 mounted to overlap on roof battens 3.
- the mechanical tiles 2 can affect a large number of shapes. There are thus flat-faced tiles, low-curved tiles and high-curved tiles.
- the tiles are shaped to allow overlap mounting at the level of Longitudinal banks and overlapping interlocking at the transverse banks. The detail of realization of these tiles will not be provided in the present patent application because it is well known to those skilled in the art.
- the hook 1 which is the subject of the invention, is in turn specially shaped to hold together the lower transverse edge of a tile 2, covering the upper transverse edge of a next tile 2 in the direction of the roof, to a batt. 3 support of the zone 2C covering tiles 2.
- Such an assembly is more particularly shown in Figures 3 to 6.
- This hook 1 consists of two divergent branches 4 connected at one of their ends by at least one spiral-shaped loop 5 forming spring to bring the branches 4 closer together in their plane when they are under tension.
- the free ends 4A of the branches 4 are on the one hand bent towards the inter-branch space, on the other hand oriented to extend on one side or the other of the plane passing through the divergent branches 4, it being understood that these ends 4A extend from the same side of the plane independently of the selected side.
- the free ends 4A of the branches can extend respectively above or below the plane passing through the divergent branches 4 when the hook is positioned with its divergent branches 4 extending in a plane horizontal or extend respectively to the right or left of the plane passing through the divergent branches 4 when the divergent branches 4 are positioned in a vertical plane.
- This hook thus forms a reversible universal hook that can be positioned indifferently by simply turning, as shown in Figures 3 and 6, on the right longitudinal banks 2A or 2B left of the tiles 2 in the vicinity of the zone 2C of overlapping the lower and upper transverse edges of the tiles 2.
- the hook 1 may, depending on the number of turns of the spiral wound loop 5 connecting the branches 4 at divergent pace between them, affect a large number of shapes.
- the loop 5 comprises a turn.
- the loop 5 of spiral shape has two turns which can be superposed or spaced apart from each other.
- this hook may comprise at least one turn depending on the spacing between the batten and the lower transverse edge of the roofing tile.
- One of the free ends 4A of the branches 4 of the hook 1 is therefore positioned on a longitudinal right bank 2A or left 2B of the tile 2 while the other free end 4A of the branch 4 of the hook 1 is positioned under the as shown in FIG. 4, simply by snapping into the latter or extending beyond the lower edge of the latter and being retained in the manner of a hook.
- the ends 4A of the divergent branches 4 are, in the fixed state of the hook 1 to the tiles 2 and to the batt 3, oriented so that the loop 5 is positioned, with respect to the direction of the slope, upstream of the attachment points from the hook to the batten 3 and to the longitudinal edge 2A, 2B of tile 2, so as to avoid the formation of a water flow path between the roof and the batten 3.
- This hook 1 may be constituted by deformation of a continuous wire, preferably metal, preferably stainless steel. This results in an extremely simple and economical manufacturing process of the hook.
- the universality of the hook is obtained by the shape of the ends 4A of the branches which on the one hand are bent towards the inter-branch space, on the other hand are oriented to extend to convergent course on the same side of the plane passing through the divergent branches 4 and form respectively with this plane an angle ⁇ less than 90 °.
- These branches 4 and their ends 4A are thus shaped so that if they were extended beyond their free ends, they would have a point of convergence.
- the branches 4 and their ends 4A extend symmetrically on either side of a plane perpendicular to the plane of the branches, this plane passing through the point 5A of convergence of the branches 4 in the vicinity of the In other words, the hook is a hook symmetrical with respect to a bisecting plane of the branches.
- the ends 4A extend vertically above the inter-branch space.
- the curved end 4A of at least one of the branches, preferably of each branch forms, with the plane passing through the branches 4, an angle ⁇ lying in the range [30 ° -60 °], preferably close 45 °.
- the curved ends of the branches may be identical or not from one branch to another.
- the curved end 4A of at least one of the branches 4, preferably of each branch, has, in the vicinity of its free end, at least one curved portion 4A1 whose radius R1 of curvature is in the range [2.5 mm - 7.5 mm], preferably close to 5 mm.
- the curved end 4A of at least one of the branches 4, preferably of each branch 4 has, in the direction of its free end, at least two successive curved portions 4A1, 4A2 separated between they by a rectilinear portion 4B2, the radius R2 of curvature of the curved portion 4A2 furthest from the free end, said distal curve portion, being greater than the radius R1 of curvature of the portion 4A1 so-called proximal curve.
- the radius R2 of curvature of the portion 4A2 distal curve is in the range [8 mm - 12 mm], preferably about 10 mm.
- the radius R1 of curvature of the portion 4A1 proximal curve is in the range [2.5 mm - 7.5 mm], preferably close to 5 mm.
- the straight portion 4B2 separating the portions 4A1 and 4A2 proximal and distal curves has a length in the range [6 mm - 10 mm], preferably close to 8 mm.
- the proximal curved portion 4A1 is extended towards the free end by a rectilinear portion 4B1 whose length is in the range [3 mm-7 mm], preferably close to 5 mm.
- the straight portion 4B2 separating the curved proximal and distal portions 4A1, 4A2 and the rectilinear portion 4B1 disposed in the prolongation of the proximal curved portion 4A1 form between them an angle ⁇ lying in the range [50 ° -70 °], preferably close 60 °.
- the same hook allows, because of its positioning, to maintain applied against each other, on the one hand the lower transverse edge of a tile, on the other hand the upper transverse edge of the next tile in the direction of the roof.

Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a hook for fixing mechanical tiles mounted overlap on roof battens.
Mechanical tiles are nowadays widely used for the realization of roofs. These tiles, whose shapes can be very diverse, particularly depending on the curvature of the tile, always arise in the same way, that is to say, overlap, and have for this purpose, at their longitudinal banks and transverse, many beads capable of delimiting channels and participate in maintaining a fitting interlocking overlap. This covering can be done from the right to the left of the roof or vice versa. To allow the holding of such a recovery assembly, it is necessary to use fasteners of the tiles. However, because of the possibility of overlapping installation to the right or left of the tiles on the battens, the first fastening hooks developed therein at about twenty years were profiled to maintain assembled the upper transverse shoreline of a tile, intended to be covered by the lower transverse shoreline of a next tile in the direction of the roof, to a batt support of the area of recovery of roof tiles. Fixing only in the upper part of the tile makes it possible to disregard the direction of the overlap assembly. However, wind tunnel tests and on-site work have shown that, if the tiles are only fixed in the upper part, their nose may lift, the tile slams and the water can easily penetrate. With each slam, the tile can lose its initial position, or even eventually break. As a result, these fastening hooks have not given full satisfaction to date.
Recently have appeared on the market of fasteners located at the bottom of tile. The known device to date consists of an extended hook of a tab that attaches, by a nailing operation, to a batten. However, this hook is not universal. It requires to have two models, one for fixing on tiles overlapping to the right, the other for fixing on tiles overlapping to the left. The need for fixing hooks of two types increases the inventory at the roofers. Moreover, the operation of laying such a hook is tedious because it requires, at each laying step, a nailing operation. This results in excessive wearer fatigue and risk in the nailing operation.
An object of the present invention is to provide a new fastening hook whose design allows this hook to be universal and to position themselves indifferently on the longitudinal banks right or left tiles and in a very short time.
Another object of the present invention is to provide a fixing hook adapted to be located at the bottom of the tile and whose design allows, for a surface of one square meter, to fix all the tiles without significantly increasing the number of hooks use.
Another object of the present invention is to provide a fastening hook whose fastener design allows to put the hook without additional member and in an extremely short time.
Another object of the present invention is to provide a fastening hook whose design of the ends of the branches allows adaptation to all types of tiles existing on the market.
To this end, the object of the invention is a hook for fastening overlapping mechanical tiles on roof battens, the hook being specially shaped to maintain the lower transverse edge of a tile, covering the upper transverse edge of the roof. a tile, next in the direction of the roof, to a batt support of the overlap area of said tiles, this hook being constituted by two divergent branches connected at one of their ends by at least one loop of spiral shape spring-forming device for tensioning the branches when they are under tension, characterized in that the free ends of the branches are on the one hand bent towards the inter-branch space, on the other hand oriented to extend from the same side of the plane passing through the diverging branches and the mouth.
With this design, the manufacture of such a hook can be done in one pass and is simplified.

The hook 1, which is the subject of the invention, is more particularly intended for fixing
Un tel montage est plus particulièrement représenté aux figures 3 à 6.The hook 1, which is the subject of the invention, is in turn specially shaped to hold together the lower transverse edge of a
This hook 1 consists of two divergent branches 4 connected at one of their ends by at least one spiral-
The hook 1 may, depending on the number of turns of the
One of the
The ends 4A of the divergent branches 4 are, in the fixed state of the hook 1 to the
This hook 1 may be constituted by deformation of a continuous wire, preferably metal, preferably stainless steel. This results in an extremely simple and economical manufacturing process of the hook.
As illustrated by the figures, the universality of the hook is obtained by the shape of the
Although other embodiments of the invention as claimed may be contemplated, the above-mentioned forms are preferred. Thus, the presence of two curved portions makes it possible, on the one hand, to adapt perfectly to the bead next to the longitudinal edge of a tile, and on the other hand to accept a more or less accentuated removal of the bead of a tile relative to at its longitudinal edge.
As mentioned above, the same hook allows, because of its positioning, to maintain applied against each other, on the one hand the lower transverse edge of a tile, on the other hand the upper transverse edge of the next tile in the direction of the roof. As can be seen in FIGS. 3 and 6, the hook 1 fits on overlapping tiles on the right (FIGS. 3 to 5) and on tiles overlapping on the left (FIG. 6) by simply reversing the hook. 1. In fact, in FIG. 3, the hook is positioned such that the free ends 4A of the divergent branches 4 of the hook 1 extend towards the left with respect to the plane formed by the said branches 4. On the contrary, in Figure 6, these free ends extend to the right with respect to the formed plane. This passage from one to the other is obtained by simply turning the hook. Thus, the stock of hooks necessary for producing such roofs consists of a single hook model. This results in a simplification of the management of such a stock.
