Definitions

  • the invention relates to an electrical unit with a control unit, in particular a ballast for a fluorescent lamp, which is mounted on a support device, in particular a trough of an electric lamp, according to the preamble of patent claim 1.
  • Fluorescent lamps require ballasts for ignition and for current limitation during operation.
  • Conventional ballasts (CCGs) and electronic ballasts (ECGs) are used.
  • the latter electronic ballasts have proven themselves in terms of quality and reliability.
  • electronic ballasts have much lower losses than conventional ballasts, the fluorescent lamps having a higher light output with a flicker-free light by operating at high frequency.
  • ballast is accommodated in a housing which is used together with the fluorescent lamp and the sockets for the lamp in a trough of a lamp.
  • this is electrically connected to the housing of the ballast.
  • This earthing can be done for example by a screw connection between the housing and the lamp pan, it being ensured by appropriate design of the screw connection that a reliable contact between the lamp pan and the housing can be produced.
  • the grounding can also be done via a protective conductor cable, which electrically connects the housing to the luminaire trough.
  • the invention has for its object to provide an electrical assembly in which the production of a protective conductor contact is further simplified and improved.
  • the electrical unit has a control unit, which is fastened with its housing to a support device of an electrical device to be controlled, for example a lamp.
  • the mechanical and electrical connection via at least one bending tab, which is formed either on the housing or - in kinematic reversal - on the support means and which is deformable for producing the mechanical and electrical connection such that they form or force fit into a recess of the respective other component, ie the support device or the housing engages. That is, for mounting the electrical control unit, this is placed on the support device and then by bending the bending tab (s) made the mechanical connection and the protective conductor contact.
  • the electrical control device is preferably a ballast for a fluorescent lamp.
  • the invention can also be used in other electrical units in which a control or power supply device is mechanically and electrically connected to a support device.
  • the assembly has a press-fit mandrel which can be inserted into the recess of the carrying device or of the housing, by means of which the bending tab can be brought into its locking position.
  • each bending tab is associated with a press-in mandrel, which is integrally formed on a component of the control unit.
  • the bending tab is formed by a punched-out which surrounds a peripheral edge portion of the recess in the bent state, to produce the mechanical and electrical connection.
  • the strength of the mechanical connection can be increased if the bending tab has a recess portion overlapping the locking portion whose base is slightly smaller than that of the recess, so that when bending the bending tab of the locking portion surrounds a peripheral edge of the recess and forms an undercut.
  • the recess is formed on the support means, for example, the tub of the lamp and the bending tab (s) on the housing of the control unit, for example, the ballast for the fluorescent lamp.
  • This component may be, for example, a sub-base for a terminal or a mounting frame of the ballast. It is particularly preferred if each press-in mandrel is connected via a film hinge on the Untersteckwanne produced in Kunststoffspritzg tell Kunststoffmaschinen or on the mounting frame.
  • the press-in mandrel may have a groove on the circumference by which it can be locked on the lamp pan.
  • the press-in mandrel is shaped so that it has a positioning and alignment with the recess of the lamp pan performs. For an exact alignment of the lower sump and thus the attached to the lower sump terminal or attached to the lower sump mounting frame relative to the recess in the lamp socket is possible.
  • each bending tab is associated with a recess.
  • two pairs of bending tabs are arranged offset by 180 degrees to each other, so that the attachment of the control unit is optimal both perpendicular to the base of the support device and parallel to the base surface of the support device.
  • Figure 1 shows a three-dimensional view of essential components of a lamp 1, in which an electronic ballast 2 mechanically and electrically with a trough 4 of the lamp 1 is fixed, on the further a non-illustrated fluorescent lamp with sockets and a cover (also not shown) are arranged.
  • a mounting state of the lamp 1 is shown, in which the ballast 2 is not mechanically and electrically connected to the lamp pan 4.
  • the electronic ballast 2 has a metallic housing 6 with a housing cover 8, which contains a printed circuit board with the electronic components of the ballast 2, for example, a suppressor, a rectifier, a high-frequency inverter, a current limiter and a Elektrodenvortropicung.
  • the ballast 2 is associated with a terminal block 10, which is inserted into a Untersteckwanne 12. The latter is (not shown) via a latching connection or otherwise secured to the housing 6.
  • the electronic ballast 2 is connected via a connected to the terminal block 10 harness (not shown) with the power supply and the fluorescent lamp or the sockets for the lamp.
  • the terminal block 10 is provided with a protective conductor connection, to which both the housing 6 made of sheet metal of the electronic ballast 2 and also made of sheet metal lamp pan 4 are connected.
  • bender pockets 18 are formed on a bottom plate 16 of the housing, which are bent during assembly from the basic position shown in Figure 1 approximately at right angles down to a bottom 20 of the lamp cover 4. This will be explained in more detail below with reference to Figures 2 to 6.
  • FIG. 2 shows a plan view of the bottom plate 16 of the housing 6 of the ballast 2. Accordingly, this bottom plate 16 has four bending tabs 18a, 18b, 18c and 18d in their corners.
  • FIG. 3 shows a partial view of the bending tab 18a. Accordingly, this bending tab 18a is formed by an approximately omega-shaped cut-out 22, through which the bending tab 18a is cut free. This has a radially inwardly extending from a base 24 radial web 26, which is extended to the center of the punching 22 toward a circular segment-shaped locking portion 28.
  • the bending tabs 18a, 18b, 18c and 18d extend outwardly respectively toward the adjacent side edge 30 and 32 of the bottom panel 16, respectively.
  • the bending tabs 18a, 18b are formed offset from the bending tabs 18c, 18d by 180 degrees in the bottom plate 16.
  • Figure 4 shows a plan view of the bottom 20 of the lamp pan 4, wherein the bottom plate 16 of the housing 6 of the ballast 2 is shown in dashed lines.
  • four round recesses 38a, 38b, 38c and 38d are formed in the bottom 20, which are partially visible also in FIG. Accordingly, these recesses 38 are concentric with the circular segment-shaped locking portions 28, so that the locking portions 28 each cover about half of the underlying recess 38.
  • the diameter of the approximately semicircular locking portion 28 is slightly smaller than the diameter of the associated recess 38a to 38d.
  • the bending tabs 18a to 18d in the illustration according to FIG. 1 are bent downwards, so that the locking sections 28 dip into the respectively assigned recess 38a to 38d and protrude downwards out of the bottom 20.
  • This mounting position is shown in Figures 5 and 6, wherein both figures represent an enlarged longitudinal section along the line AA in Figure 2. Accordingly, the radial web 26 formed by the cutout 22 of the bottom plate 16 of the housing 6 lies on an adjacent base surface 44 of the bottom 20 of the lamp pan 4, while the circular segment-shaped locking portion 28 is bent by 90 ° down and passes through the recess 38 a.
  • an undercut is formed by the radial web 26 away extending round shoulders 46, 48 of the locking portion 28 (see Figure 3), which engages behind the lower peripheral edge of the punched 22, so that the bottom plate 16 is fixed in position perpendicular to the base 44.
  • the position fixation in the transverse direction is ensured by the respective abutment of the locking portion 28 on the adjacent contact surface 52 of the recess 38a to 38d.
  • the electrical connection between the bottom plate 16 of the housing 6 and the bottom 20 of the lamp pan 4 is effected by the abutment of the locking portion 28 at the two peripheral edges 50 of the recess 38 a to 38 d.
  • the bending tabs 18a to 18d and the peripheral edges 50 of the recess 38a to 38d are adjacent to each other along the relatively sharp-edged peripheral edges, so that any existing coatings, such as a paint of the lamp pan 4 and the housing 6 through the bending process and the abutting peripheral edges broken and thus a reliable Contact is made. This contact can be further improved by particularly sharp-edged design of the plant sections.
  • the sheets for the production of the bottom plate 16 and the bottom 20 before punching the bending tabs 18 and the recesses 38 are painted, so that the punching edges are unpainted anyway and thus the Konrete Sammlung prepares no difficulties.
  • the bending of the bending tabs 18a to 18d can be done by a separate tool or - as indicated in Figures 5 and 6 - by integration of a Einpressdorns 56 in the control unit 2, via which the bending tabs 18 can be brought into its illustrated locking position.
  • These press-fit mandrels 56 may be formed, for example, on the submount tub 12 or a mounting frame designed as an injection molding component, the connection being effected via a film hinge 58, as indicated in FIG. 5, so that the press-fit mandrels 56 can be pivoted relative to the submount tub 12 or the mounting frame.
  • the Einpressdorne 56 have such a cross-section that they can be pivoted into the recess 38a to 38d and thereby bring the locking portion 28 of the bending tabs 18a to 18d from its basic position shown in Figure 1 (after punching) in the locking position shown in Figure 5. Depending on the application, the Einpressdorne 56 can then in its lower pivot position by a locking groove 54 can be locked, so that over these Einpressdorne 56 of the locking portion 28 is biased against the peripheral wall of the associated recess 38a to 38d.
  • the Einpressdorne 56 have a molded tip 60 which engage in the locking process first in the punched-out area between punch 22 and Biegelasche 18 and then into the recess 38 before they bend the bending tabs 18.
  • the Einpressdorne 56 have a molded tip 60 which engage in the locking process first in the punched-out area between punch 22 and Biegelasche 18 and then into the recess 38 before they bend the bending tabs 18.
  • the control unit has a housing which is mechanically and electrically connected to a support device, for example a lamp cover of a luminaire.
  • a mechanical and electrical connection via at least one fastening tab which can be brought from a basic position into a locking position, in which this dips into an associated recess of the support means and thereby produces a positive or non-positive locking.
