Definitions
- the invention relates to a method for loading in a Fiber suspension containing fibers with an auxiliary.
- the pulp used for paper production which may consist in particular of recovered pulp, must first be prepared accordingly, whereby it is usually subjected, for example, to flotation, dispersion and bleaching in order to eliminate or comminute undesirable constituents such as printing inks and stickies, so that these are no longer visually perceptible and correspondingly better optical values are achieved.
- a bleaching process must be interposed in order to prevent the yellowing of the mechanically digested fibers or to bring the mechanically digested fibers to a higher degree of whiteness.
- fillers or fillers in particular calcium carbonate (CaCO 3 ), enables higher optical values to be achieved in the end product paper.
- the corresponding treatment has recently been carried out by a so-called "Fiber Loading TM" process, as described, for example, in US Pat. No. 5,223,090.
- a "Fiber Loading TM” process at least one additive, in particular filler, is attached to the wetted fiber surfaces of the fiber material.
- the fibers can be loaded with calcium carbonate, for example.
- calcium oxide and / or calcium hydroxide is added to the moist, disintegrated fiber material in such a way that at least a part thereof is associated with the water present in the fiber material.
- the fiber material treated in this way is then subjected to carbon dioxide (CO 2 ).
- the aim of the invention is to provide an improved method of the type mentioned specify with which in particular a yellowing of the mechanical Disrupted fibers prevented as a result of the "Fiber Loading TM" process or the hitherto usual bleaching process is at least partially unnecessary.
- This object is achieved according to the invention by a method for loading of fibers contained in a fiber suspension with an auxiliary a chemical precipitation reaction in which the fiber suspension before Triggering the precipitation reaction calcium hydroxide and / or calcium oxide and at least one bleach is added. It can be the Bleach act in particular peroxide.
- the calcium hydroxide and / or calcium oxide are preferably after the Dryness of the pulp suspension increasing press or after a Thicken the fiber suspension added.
- the advantage achieved here is especially in that losses in the upstream thickening process avoided and the filtrates are not contaminated with glue when thickening, which means that the filtrate of the thickening process has a low pH is ensured.
- This auxiliary can be in powder form or in Liquid form can be added.
- the process control and regulation simplified.
- the addition of quicklime and / or slaked lime to one Fiber suspension can raise the pH to a value of 12, which is what Filtrate is undesirable. In particular, this also results in a simpler one Process water management.
- the specified process is particularly also for fresh fibers and Fiber mixtures made from 100% mechanically digested fibers (ground wood pulp) applicable.
- the process is the calcium hydroxide and / or calcium oxide in powder form or in Liquid form with a solid mass concentration of 5% to 30% of the Fiber suspension added, the solid mass concentration of Fiber suspension is in the range of 20% to 35%.
- the calcium hydroxide and / or calcium oxide with the Fiber suspension mixed before the precipitation reaction is triggered.
- the peroxide is also preferably used before the precipitation reaction is triggered added.
- the pulp suspension can thus before the precipitation reaction is triggered especially calcium oxide (CaO, quicklime) can also be added.
- CaO calcium oxide
- quicklime quicklime
- carbon dioxide (CO 2 ) or a medium containing carbon dioxide is introduced into the fiber suspension to initiate the precipitation reaction, thereby ensuring that the starting materials calcium hydroxide or calcium oxide are converted into the reaction products calcium carbonate (CaCO 3 ) and water to load the fibers with the filler calcium carbonate in particular.
- calcium carbonate is thus deposited on the wetted fiber surfaces by adding calcium oxide and / or calcium hydroxide to the moist fiber material, at least some of which can be associated with the water in the amount of fiber.
- the fiber material treated in this way is then exposed to carbon dioxide.
- the calcium carbonate (CaCO 3 ) formed can form a suspension around and between the fibers.
- the term “wetted fiber surfaces” can include all wetted surfaces of the individual fibers. This also includes in particular the case in which the fibers are loaded with calcium carbonate both on their outer surface and in their interior (lumen).
- the fibers can be loaded with the filler calcium carbonate, the attachment to the wetted fiber surfaces by a so-called “Fiber Loading TM” process takes place, as it in US-A-5 223 090. This reacts in this "Fiber Loading TM” process Carbon dioxide with the calcium hydroxide to water and calcium carbonate.
- the method according to the invention is particularly useful for Fresh fibers and fiber mixtures made up of 100% mechanical open fibers can exist, applicable.
- the single figure of the drawing shows a simplified process diagram for an exemplary pretreatment of a fiber suspension, in particular for paper and / or cardboard manufacture, for loading the fibers with an auxiliary by a chemical precipitation reaction, the fiber suspension before the precipitation reaction triggers calcium hydroxide (Ca (OH) 2 , hydrated lime) and / or calcium oxide and after the addition of calcium hydroxide and / or calcium oxide (quicklime) at least one peroxide is added.
- Ca (OH) 2 calcium hydroxide
- hydrated lime hydrated lime
- calcium oxide calcium oxide
- the fibrous suspension is, for example, by dissolving pulp or Waste paper with aggregates generated in a pulper 10 and / or not dried pulp, also known as "never dried pulp", the Loading process, e.g. directly from a connected pulp mill Coming.
- the pulp suspension can e.g. in area 12 by dewatering using a Press can be thickened because a higher for the "Fiber Loading TM" process
- the pulp mass concentration is advantageous e.g. (20% to 35%).
- the pulp suspension 14 calcium hydroxide in a mixing container and optionally added calcium oxide in which the mixture in question then mixed.
- the Fibrous suspension After adding calcium hydroxide or calcium oxide, the Fibrous suspension at least one before triggering the precipitation reaction Peroxide added.
- the calcium hydroxide and / or calcium oxide can be the fiber suspension especially with a mass concentration of about 5% to about 30% be added, i.e. the mass fraction of calcium hydroxide and / or Calcium oxide on the total mass of the added suspension is 5 to 30 %.
- 16 carbon dioxide or a medium containing carbon dioxide is introduced into the pulp suspension in order to for a conversion of the starting materials calcium hydroxide or calcium oxide into the Reaction products to ensure calcium carbonate and water and thereby the Load fibers with the filler calcium carbonate.
- Calcium oxide and / or calcium hydroxide (slaked lime) is added to the fiber material in such a way that at least part of it can associate with the water present in the fiber material, ie between the fibers, in the hollow fibers and in their walls, the following chemical Response sets:
- the fiber material is then exposed to carbon dioxide (CO 2 ) or a medium containing carbon dioxide such that calcium carbonate (CaCO 3 ) is largely deposited on the wetted fiber surfaces.
- CO 2 carbon dioxide
- CaCO 3 calcium carbonate
- optical output values of the raw material are checked a "Fiber Loading TM" process using at least one peroxide increases, with yellowing of the mechanically disrupted fibers prevented or the previous upstream bleaching process partially or becomes superfluous.
- Glue or the so-called calcium hydroxide and / or calcium oxide is added after the press in powder or liquid form at a concentration of about 5% to about 30% of the fiber suspension at 20% to 35% concentration and mixed before the "Fiber Loading TM "Process is carried out.
- this has the advantage that losses in the upstream thickening process are avoided and filtrates are not contaminated with glue during thickening, which means that a low pH is ensured.
- the process control and regulation is simplified.
- there is also a simpler process water supply. This process can also be used with fresh fibers and fiber mixtures which consist of 100% mechanically disintegrated fibers.
- At least one peroxide is added, as a result of which higher optical values are achieved, ie the upstream bleaching process which has hitherto been customary and which prevents yellowing of the fibers can be partially or completely dispensed with.
- the yellowing of the fibers is avoided by the addition of peroxide, with bleaching also being carried out in one process step.
- the addition of the quick lime or calcium hydroxide enables this technologically combined process.

Abstract
