Definitions

  • the invention relates to the field of snow sliding sports, and more especially in downhill skiing. It relates more specifically to alpine skis whose upper face at the level of the skate zone is not totally flat, but on the contrary has lateral recesses, at the level of the upper edges.
  • an alpine ski in its skating zone has at least one lower sliding surface composed of a sole edged with edges metal. It also has an upper face substantially parallel to the lower sliding surface on either side of the median longitudinal plane of the ski.
  • the structure includes a shell of trapezoidal general section that connects a square to another by styling the elements constituent parts of the structure.
  • the structure in a second family, includes elements of side reinforcements that form at least a portion of the side faces of the ski. These reinforcing elements are usually apparent and form the songs skiing on all or part of its thickness.
  • reinforcing elements are located squarely on the edges, and more precisely the thickest part of the edges that adjoins the gliding sole, also called “cord”. Thanks to these reinforcing elements, the supports exerted on the upper face of the ski are more effectively transmitted on the edges and therefore allow a better grip.
  • Document FR 2 703 916 describes a gliding board presenting such reinforcing elements, and which also has recesses made at the lateral faces extending between the upper part of the elements of strengthening and the upper face of the ski.
  • the ski described in this document presents a step of height between the central part of its upper face and the lateral zones. This recess forms a recess made above the reinforcing element.
  • This reinforcing element has a height that is substantially constant over the entire length of the ski so that the recesses made at level of the pad area have a bottom substantially parallel to the sole of slips.
  • the object of the invention is to provide a ski which has a geometry derived from that described above, and whose dynamic behavioral qualities be superior, especially as regards the sequence of different phases of a turn.
  • this plate is characterized in that the recesses form a hollow zone connecting to the reinforcing elements, and in that the lower part of these recesses has a slope inclined longitudinally with respect to the lower gliding surface. and on the upper side.
  • the characteristic recesses form a recessed area at the inside of the lateral reinforcing elements which therefore have a height reduced and variable at these recesses.
  • the board therefore presents level of these songs a continuous decrease in its thickness. This induces a partial stiffness variation and localized in the area of the recess.
  • the behavior of the board is changed according to the location of the point of application of the forces exerted by the skier, this depending particularly strongly on the position adopted by the skier during the different phases of a turn.
  • the characteristic recesses can take different forms.
  • the lower part of the recesses that is to say their bottom, can be inclined either towards the front and the bottom of the ski, or towards the back and the bottom of the ski.
  • the inclination of the longitudinal section in the reinforcing element Laterally, the support pressure is applied towards the front of the ski during the turn, since the partial stiffness of the ski is more prominent at the front than at the rear of the recess. This improves the steering of the turn because the edge Turn initiation is more effective.
  • the inclined slope of the bottom of the recesses may also have various geometries.
  • the lower part of the recesses may have a slope which is either substantially constant over most of its length, or variable over the length of the recess.
  • the inclined bottom of the recess can be either plane or curve.
  • the lateral zones of the board may include different materials, both in front and behind the recess feature.
  • the choice of different materials makes it possible to confer properties different mechanics to the zones directly in front of and behind the recess feature.
  • one of the materials present in one of the lateral zones may be of a viscoelastic nature, so as to confer damping properties at the lateral area in question.
  • one of the materials present in the lateral zones may be of elastic nature, so as to impart dynamisation properties to the zone lateral in question.
  • the slots can have a profile in V or Y, or a profile rectangular, or even a combination of these different geometries.
  • one wishes to obtain one locates the zone having damping properties either at the front or at the rear of the recess, and the side area having energizing properties either at the back or at the front of the recess.
  • the characteristic recesses may have a width, measured transversely to the board, which is variable over the length of the recess. We can thus optimize the variation of partial stiffness of the board.
  • the gliding board may comprise several recesses made on the same side of the board. These recesses, 2 in number or 3, may have inclinations oriented in the same direction, or in a preferred form in opposite directions.
  • the board has two recesses on each side.
  • the recess at the front shows a tilt down and forward.
  • the recess located at the rear presents for its part, an inclination directed upwards and forwards (or so equivalent downward and backward).
  • Such a board can in particular be equipped with a platform of raising the attachment, which has side portions whose edge lower contact with or against the bottom of the recess, with a slope inclined complementary to that of the bottom of the recess.
  • the invention relates to a ski which has a particularity of structure in its skate zone. More precisely, as illustrated in FIG. (1) comprises a shoe area (2), a heel area (3), and a spatula area (4).
  • the ski has an upper face (5) which is intended to receive the stop and the heel of the fixation, possibly by via an elevation platform.
  • This upper face (5) is substantially flat on both sides of the median longitudinal plane of the ski.
  • the ski (1) comprises a reinforcing element (6) forming the song of the ski.
  • This lateral reinforcing element (6) extends over the major part of the length of the board, from the heel area (3) to the spatula area (4).
  • This lateral reinforcing element (6) is located vertically above the edges (7) present on the lower edges of the ski.
  • This lateral reinforcing element (6) allows the transmission of supports from the upper face (5) of the ski towards the edges (7), and more precisely the cord (8) of these edges, which constitutes the portion of edges (7) coming directly into contact with the snow and present on the lower edge of the board.
  • the board comprises lateral faces (10) which extend between the upper part of the reinforcing elements (6) and the face upper (5) of the board.
  • these lateral faces (10) comprise recesses (12) opening on the upper face (5).
  • these recesses (12) form a recessed area (13) inside the reinforcement elements (6), as shown in FIG. 2.
  • This recess (12) is delimited principally by three surfaces, namely a first surface (15) substantially vertical, and whose upper part joins the upper face (5) of the ski.
  • the recess (12) also has a bottom (16) which forms an inclined slope relative to the sliding surface (9) and to the upper face of the ski (5).
  • This background inclined (16) is extended at the rear by a portion (17) which connects to the face upper ski (5) at the rear of the recess (12).
  • the deepest zone (18) of the recess forms the boundary between the slope inclined (16) and the portion (17) of connection to the upper face (5).
  • the limits (19, 20) of the zone in hollow (13) formed in the lateral reinforcing element (6) can be concealed under a non-protective layer represented, with the essential objective of preventing water from interfering with the lateral reinforcing element (6) and the rest of the structure.
  • the slope of the inclined bottom (16) of the recess (12), measured by relative to the sliding surface (9) is between 1 and 20 °, and preferentially between 2 ° and 5 °.
  • the thickness e1 of the board, measured at the level of its edges, substantially at the lowest level (18) of the recess (12) is smaller than the thickness e2 measured further forward of the recess.
  • the thickness e1 corresponds to the thickness of the lateral reinforcing element (6) to which the thickness is added cord (8) edges (7), in which is positioned the sole (25).
  • the element lateral reinforcement (6) is generally narrower than the recess (12), and has for example a width equivalent to that of the edge cord (8).
  • the board comprises not only the lateral reinforcing element (6) taken in its height maximum, but also a portion (24) of the internal structure (23) of the board, which extends above the reinforcing elements (6).
  • the board comprises in its internal structure an upper reinforcement (28) that marries different shapes along of the board and which extends more or less laterally, as shown in comparison of Figures 4 and 5.
  • the invention is not limited to the embodiments alone illustrated, but also covers variants in which the inclined slope of the bottom of the recess is oriented in the opposite direction, that is to say towards the back and to the top.
  • the deepest area of the recess is located rather in front of the latter, while in the illustrated figures, this area most deep (18) is located at the rear of the recess (12).
  • the invention also covers other variants in which the width of the recesses is not constant, but varies over the length of the recess.
  • the invention is not limited to the form illustrated in FIG. which the bottom (16) of the recess (12) is substantially flat, but it embraces on the contrary all variants concerning the geometry of the bottom of the recess, and for example a curved bottom, since the bottom of this recess is not parallel to the sliding surface and to the upper face of the ski.
  • the board also has four bosses (11a, 11b, 11c, 11d) disposed forward and backward of each obviously (12). These optional bosses postpone the support of the skating zone in the direction of spatula and heel areas.
  • the ski according to the invention has, in forward and backward of the recess (12), lateral zones which include different materials.
  • the ski comprises in front of the recess (12) a spindle (30) including a viscoelastic material.
  • this spindle (30) can be inserted above the reinforcing element (6) and below the portion (31) forming the top of the structure of the board.
  • This spindle (30) can rest for example on the lateral reinforcing element (6) or be inserted inside a recessed area made in this element of reinforcement, or else rest on the lateral reinforcing element for forming a recessed area in the structural portion (31).
  • this spindle (30) of viscoelastic material confers damping properties at this localized area of the board. In this way, some vibrations passing through this zone are absorbed by this zone (30).
  • this spindle (30) absorbs part of the energy required to bend the ski in the zone in which it is implanted, which modifies the local stiffness of the ski. In the where this spindle (30) is implanted as in the form illustrated in FIGS. 6 and 7 in front of the recess, this modified partial stiffness facilitates entry into the turn, and improves comfort.
  • the lateral zone (37) of the ski presents rear of the recess, different slots (35) filled with an elastic material (36). These different slots (35) are hollowed out slightly towards the back and the top of the board.
  • these slots have a generally U-shaped shape, having two parallel main walls, but the invention also covers variants in which these slots have a section V or Y. These two geometries or others not shown can be mixed inside a same set of slots.
  • the material used to fill the slots (35) can be an elastic material such as rubber or polyurethane elastomer.
  • the walls of the same slot (35) tend to come closer in compressing the material (36) that they trap. This material (36) therefore tendency to oppose this deformation.
  • the material (36) tends to cause the re-spacing of the walls of the slots (35) and thus a return to a faster position from the board to its initial curvature.
  • initial curvature we mean the curvature of the board when the ski is loaded solely by the weight of the skier, so static.
  • the different slots (35) can be filled with a material which also have viscoelastic properties, such as VIBTENE®.
  • the area including the plurality of slots has properties damping.
  • the board comprises a zone (34) comprising slots parallel disposed forward of the recess (12).
  • This board includes also a spindle (38) disposed at the rear of the recess (12).
  • the ski can also include two different time zones, being located at the front of the recess, the other being located at the rear.
  • the board has two recesses (53, 54) made of each of the sides of the board.
  • Each of these recesses (53, 54) is of similar design to those described above.
  • the bottom (55) of the front recess (53) has a downward and forward inclination.
  • the bottom (56) of the rear recess (54) has an inclination towards the up and forward (or equivalently down and back).
  • the length (l) of the substantially horizontal portion (57) separating the two recesses (53, 54) is variable depending on the slopes and the lengths of the recesses (53, 54). It can even be reduced to zero, so these two recesses are then contiguous.
  • the gliding board according to the invention has many advantages, including a distribution of stiffness in the pad area which allows to concentrate the maximum power at the level of edges, and therefore the maximum grip of the ski underfoot when triggering of the turn.
