Claims (7)

  1. Method for marking documents of value (1) or suchlike contained in a protective or safe-transport case (6) that comprises at least one system (7) for spraying a product contained in a reservoir (8), for example in the event of an attack,
    characterised in that
    at least the following stages are involved:
    during the printing or production of the documents of value (1), at least one translucent ink sensitive to an appropriate developer is respectively deposited on or introduced into at least one predetermined marking zone (2, 3, 4, 5) of the said documents of value (1), and then
    when the documents of value have been placed inside the protective case (6), at least one product which develops the initially translucent ink is sprayed onto the documents of value (1) to make visible a marking respectively on or in the said predetermined marking zone(s) (2, 3, 4, 5) and thereby to render the said documents of value (1) unusable or legally identifiable.
  2. Method according to Claim 1,
    characterised in that
    the marking zone(s) (2, 3, 4, 5) is/are located along at least one of the edges of the documents of value (1) and on at least one of their faces.
  3. Method according to either of the preceding Claims,
    characterised in that
    on or in the predetermined marking zone(s) (2, 3, 4, 5) at least one word and/or a symbol and/or a geometrical shape are formed.
  4. Method according to any of the preceding Claims,
    characterised in that
    a liquid or gaseous product is used as the developer for the initially translucent ink.
  5. Method according to any of Claims 1 to 3,
    characterised in that
    a chemical, thermal, luminous, acoustic, electromagnetic, or nuclear product is used as the developer.
  6. Method according to any of the preceding Claims,
    characterised in that
    the appearance of the marking in the predetermined marking zones (2, 3, 4, 5) is time-differentiated after the developer product has been sprayed onto the documents of value (1).
  7. Method according to any of the preceding claims,
    characterised in that
    the appearance of the marking in the predetermined zones (2, 3, 4, 5) is temporary and can be reversed.
