Abstract

The seal consists of a housing (4) in two preferably symmetrical sections. A cable (1) has segments (2) on one end which are locked inside the housing by teeth (12). The cable has blocks (3) on the other end which are fixed in recesses (7) in the housing when its two sections are welded together. The blocks are made from a heat-conducting material with a sufficiently high calorific capacity to prevent the blocks, or at least the last one, from being damaged by heating the cable. The recesses containing the blocks are separated by partitions (8) which contribute to the rigidity of the housing. The housing sections are made from a transparent material which allows the cable, segments and blocks to be visually examined.
