Definitions
- the present invention relates to packaging of objects or group of objects by means of an element packaging with printed marking, the wall of which is made made of plastic.
- packaging element used here should be understood in its most acceptation wide, including in particular rigid or semi-rigid containers (bottles, shells, boxes) and flexible films especially heat shrinkable films.
- Traceability is used to identify the product individually at several points in a unique way, and facilitates considerably data management.
- fraudulent manipulation of the products means that provide markings, in particular codings, which should be as discreet as possible, in order to preserve product traceability, and thus avoid any modification or destruction of packaging.
- different reading modes for example by interlaced or other barcodes ("two of five") codes, or by microchips, which can be read by a suitable reading machine owned by the manufacturer or the distributor.
- these codes are generally easily spotted by counterfeiters, and therefore can be removed or torn off.
- containers or packaging films, or sleeves heat shrinkable made from such films we make usually so that the coding is printed on the side internal of the packaging element, i.e. the side which is facing the object.
- a knowledgeable counterfeiter can easily cut the packaging element from material plastic, and thus access the inner side of it to distort or erase the printed coding.
- the technical problem that the invention proposes to solve is to create a concept of tagging on the plastic packaging element allowing avoid the identification of the code or codes used, in order to preserve from destruction, while ensuring identification and the traceability of packaged products.
- document US-A-4 227 719 thus describes a copy protection technique, whereby uses an alert pattern printed directly on the document and covered with camouflage printed with a ink whose density is chosen below the threshold review of the photocopier, so any photocopy of the protected must automatically show the pattern alert on the copy.
- the object of the invention is therefore to produce a packaging element with printed marking, the wall of which is plastic, either essentially transparent or tinted in the mass, and whose marking is not locatable, while being easily read by authorized persons with reading facilities adapted, which guarantees the identification and product traceability.
- the primary dispersing frame allows avoid marking spotting, even under light grazing, and if the examination is done from the other side of the film, then the superimposed dispersing screen ensures the same anti-tracking function.
- the packaging element according to the invention has on one side of said wall a printed marking with a sympathetic ink, said marking being taken into account sandwich between said face on which said marking is printed, and an overprinting weft covering this marking and at least the area of said face which surrounds said marking, to make the latter undetectable.
- the opacity of the tinted wall in the mass is sufficient to hide the marking, and if we examine said marking on the other side, the dispersing frame in overprinting avoids the marking of the marking, even by examination under grazing light.
- the or each dispersing frame has a speckled structure that takes up the structure used to print the marking.
- the structure then allows flood the marking area, strengthening the invisibility.
- the or each dispersing frame will be chosen random, so as to avoid identification by fine analysis from the surface.
- the marking printed with a sympathetic ink at least partially overlaps identification elements printed on the same side. This allows to detect more easily any intervention in the marking area, which would alter identification elements, making then the unsaleable product when it is for example of legal notices indicating the origin, name or product composition.
- the packaging element has an additional marking readable under UV light, unmarked printed in sympathetic ink.
- the additional marking is printed on the opposite side to the one with the nice ink marking.
- the side with the sympathetic ink marking and the or the dispersing wefts is the internal face, that is to say the face which is turned towards the object or the group objects to be wrapped. Indeed, this obliges the counterfeiter to cut the wall surrounding the object or group of objects packed to intervene in an attempt to destroy the marking present on the internal face of said wall.
- the sympathetic ink marking is a coding used to guarantee the identification and traceability of the object or of the packaged object group.
- coding must be taken here in its broadest sense, in accordance with the most modern possibilities for data encryption.
- the wall of the plastic packaging element may be rigid or semi-rigid, and form a container, in particular a bottle, a shell (blister), or a box.
- a container in particular a bottle, a shell (blister), or a box.
- provision may be made for the wall of the plastic packaging element to be flexible and to form a packaging film, in particular a heat-shrinkable and mono-oriented film. This is particularly advantageous when using such a film to form heat-shrinkable packaging sleeves.
- the invention also intends to protect a heat-shrinkable packaging sleeve, which is made at from a stretch of heat-shrinkable and mono-oriented film having at least one of the characteristics above, film with two end edges sealed according to a generator of the sleeve.
- the invention also relates to a method of production of a packaging film with the characteristics above.
- FIGs 1 and 2 there is a strip of plastic packaging film 10 whose wall is here transparent.
- the upper face of this wall is denoted 11 and its underside is denoted 12.
- the material constituting this film could for example be chosen from the materials usually used in the field of packaging, such as polyethylene, polystyrene, polyvinyl chloride, etc. It will be a way general of any rigid or semi-rigid plastic allowing to make a box, a shell (blister), or flexible film.
- the film 10 relates to its side 11 of the printed identification elements 13, here shown schematically by the letters A and B.
- the packaging film 10 is transparent in this case, so that the elements printed identification 13 are perfectly visible by the opposite face 12 which is for example the front of the film.
- a dispersing frame is deposited.
- primary 14 which has a speckled structure, and random.
- This primary frame 14 is for example printed by means of a screened coating cylinder, for example according to rotogravure technique or any other technique raster printing not necessarily using cylinders.
- the peripheral surface of the cylinder is then engraved according to the desired pattern of random speckled structure.
- this primary dispersing frame 14 a structure which takes up the structure then used to print a marking in sympathetic ink, for example using dots, crosses, lines, etc.
- a primary dispersing frame 14 made in the form of a cloud of small dots.
- a marking 15 is printed with an ink friendly.
- This marking is, for example, schematic here by a sequence of numbers 1,2,3,4.
- These elements identification could be the brand of the product, or visual elements such as those that are commonly used for example for the legal notices giving the origin or the composition of the product. So in the case of products pharmaceutical for example, deleting mentions notices or notices indicating the composition of the product would make the product totally unsellable.
- dispersing weft primary 14 is present throughout the area marked 17 of the side 11 of the film which surrounds the marking 15.
- a dispersing frame is deposited 16 superimposed over the marking 15 and at minus the aforementioned zone 17 which surrounds said marking, for make it undetectable.
- the marking 15 is thus sandwiched between the two dispersing frames 14.16.
- step c the product obtained in step c), although exploitable in theory, does not allow to fight really effectively against smart tracking made in grazing light by a counterfeiter. It is therefore the deposition of the dispersing frame 16, superimposed, which makes the presence truly invisible or undetectable of the printed marking 15.
- the overlaying dispersing frame 16 has also a speckled structure which takes up the structure used to print the marking 15.
- the film is transparent in zone 17 of its face which surrounds the marking 15, and it comprises on said face a primary dispersing frame 14 on which the marking 15 is printed, the assembly being covered by the dispersing screen overlay 16.
- the marking 15 is therefore in this case taken into account sandwich between the primary dispersing frame 14 and the frame dispersant overlay 16.
- the packaging film comprises an overprinting dispersing frame 16 which is unique, without primary dispersing weft.
- the marking 15 is therefore in this case taken into account sandwich between the face on which said marking is printed and the overlay dispersing screen 16.
- the packaging film denoted 10' receives the identification elements printed 13, then in c ') there this is the printing of the marking 15 in sympathetic ink, and finally in d ') it is the deposit of the dispersing weft superimposed 16, which is then the only screen used.
- this superimposed frame 16 makes it impossible the location of the printed marking 15 by examining the side of the print side, even when examined performed in grazing light.
- the marking 15 printed in sympathetic ink at least partially overlaps identification elements prints 13. This is of course not a obligation, but further complicates the task of the infringer by making it practically impossible to preserve elements of identification during destruction work made in the area of the printed marking.
- the protection conferred is further improved if the sympathetic ink used for the marking 15 only appears under the action of a reagent particular chemical, which is chosen to have an action irreversible destructive film. It could be solvent-type developers, for example ketones or esters. As is easy to understand, if a counterfeiter seeks to decipher the marking printed in using the right chemical developer, the film wall then automatically shows signs of destruction which are irreversible, and therefore immediately identifiable later even by an attentive consumer average. This security can be further refined by providing that the chemical reagent is chosen to have a destructive action delayed on film. Indeed, the counterfeiter cannot predict that the solvent will continue its action in the material of the film, and cause irreversible traces of destruction that will not appear that well after the intervention carried out on the marking.
- Figure 4 schematically illustrates the effect visual of the structures used to print the marking 15 and the dispersing frame (s) 14.16.
- the printed marking 15, here symbolized by the number 1 is printed by successions of small points. If the film 10 used is transparent, then the face concerned will have been previously coated with the frame primary dispersant 14, also produced with a speckled structure in small dots. This structure being preferably random, visual identification, even by sophisticated means of analysis, will be further complicated. In the primary frame 14 has not been represented for ability to distinguish number from marking 15. After filing of the overlaying dispersing frame 16, the cloud of small dots makes it totally impossible to locate the number 1 previously printed in sympathetic ink, and this even with a grazing light exam.
- the packaging film has an additional marking readable under ultraviolet (UV) light, which is separate from the marking 15 printed in sympathetic ink.
- This additional marking preferably be printed on the opposite side to that which bears the marking 15 in sympathetic ink.
- Use such additional marking further complicates the task the counterfeiter, who must also intervene with a ad hoc reading to alter this marking. In any condition cause, even if it succeeds, by depositing a varnish or other adequate chemical, to drown the UV marking in a enlarged area making recognition and reading of this marking, there is still the printed marking in sympathetic ink which cannot be detected through the use of one or two dispersing frames.
- FIG. 5 a manufacturing method has been illustrated.
- a packaging film according to the invention he this is of course a schematic illustration, aimed only to make the successive interventions understood made on film.
- the film 10, possibly previously printed, for example with its printing elements previously mentioned, is here of transparent type.
- the film 10 arrives first of all at the level of a post 20 corresponding to printing of the primary dispersing screen 14. For this, it passes between two rollers 21,22 of which the roller 21 is a screened cylinder, the screening of which is preferably chosen in accordance with the structure used for printing subsequent marking. Although any color can be used, we will preferably choose a gray color or black already used for printing printing elements.
- the film 10 then arrives at a station 30 printing of the marking in sympathetic ink.
- the device used is shown schematically in 31. It should be noted that the printing of the marking in sympathetic ink occurs here on side 11 or back (V) of the film which is the one already previously coated with the primary dispersing frame 14.
- a device 32 has been provided for print a UV marking (long or short as appropriate), here on side 12 opposite to that bearing the printed marking in sympathetic ink, that is to say on the front (R) of the movie.
- the film 10 finally passes to the level of a station 40 printing of the overprinting dispersing screen 16.
- the film 10 thus passes between two rollers 41 and 42, of which the roller 41 is a screened cylinder analogous to the cylinder 21 used at the level of station 20.
- This deposit of the frame dispersant 16 superimposed is fundamental because it's which allows you to sandwich the marking produced in sympathetic ink, and thus make the said undetectable marking.
- the film packaging may be a heat-shrinkable film and mono-oriented. This is particularly interesting when we use such a film to conform sleeves heat shrinkable packaging. We illustrated in the figure 6 such a heat shrinkable packaging sleeve which will now be described in more detail.
- FIG 6 there is thus a sleeve heat shrinkable 50, made from a section of film 10 or 10 ', coated with the aforementioned prints and screens, two end edges of which are sealed according to a generator sleeve, at a noted sealing line 51.
- a generator sleeve On the outer face 12 of the sleeve, note the presence of UV 18 marking, here schematized by 1,2,3,4 digits.
- On the internal face 11 of the sleeve we note the presence of printed identification elements 13, here again schematized by the letters A, B, and the presence a nice ink marking, also shown diagrammatically by the figures 1,2,3,4.
- the film constituting the sleeve 50 bearing the marking in sympathetic ink 15 and the screens dispersant 14,16 is completely transparent. It goes from you can predict that the face 11 of said sleeve marked with sympathetic ink 15 and the weft single dispersant overlay 16 is tinted in the mass, in which case only one dispersing frame is used (superimposed on the marking in sympathetic ink).
- the marking in sympathetic ink 15 will be a coding serving to guarantee the identification and the traceability of the packaged object or group of objects.
- the recipient has ad hoc developer, and knows the location of the coding printed in sympathetic ink: it can then easily read the coding.
- the packaging element in plastic is not a flexible film, but present a rigid or semi-rigid wall, forming a container, in particular a bottle, a shell (especially a blister) or a box.
- a container in particular a bottle, a shell (especially a blister) or a box.

Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to packaging of objects or group of objects by means of an element packaging with printed marking, the wall of which is made made of plastic. The term "packaging element" used here should be understood in its most acceptation wide, including in particular rigid or semi-rigid containers (bottles, shells, boxes) and flexible films especially heat shrinkable films.
Extensive development of distribution channels poses more and more problems for professionals of packaging which must fight against diversion products, whether pharmaceuticals, perfumes, or food products in particular. The large manufacturers indeed often have distributors exclusive, and it appeared that some distributors resold part of their stock at low prices, which allows fraudulent reintroduction of products at low price. This problem is further complicated by traffic goods with border problems, legal and tax regulations are often different depending on the country. These movements have of course the effect of destabilizing distributors and manufacturers. To combat this so-called "gray" market practice or "parallels", which takes on worrying proportions in recent years, it has become essential to develop product traceability concepts.
Traceability is used to identify the product individually at several points in a unique way, and facilitates considerably data management. However, fraudulent manipulation of the products means that provide markings, in particular codings, which should be as discreet as possible, in order to preserve product traceability, and thus avoid any modification or destruction of packaging. So we have developed different reading modes, for example by interlaced or other barcodes ("two of five") codes, or by microchips, which can be read by a suitable reading machine owned by the manufacturer or the distributor. Unfortunately, these codes are generally easily spotted by counterfeiters, and therefore can be removed or torn off. When using containers or packaging films, or sleeves heat shrinkable made from such films, we make usually so that the coding is printed on the side internal of the packaging element, i.e. the side which is facing the object. However, a knowledgeable counterfeiter can easily cut the packaging element from material plastic, and thus access the inner side of it to distort or erase the printed coding.
The technical problem that the invention proposes to solve is to create a concept of tagging on the plastic packaging element allowing avoid the identification of the code or codes used, in order to preserve from destruction, while ensuring identification and the traceability of packaged products.
One might be tempted to use techniques already used on paper or cardboard packaging, for example by printing a coding with a sympathetic ink, that is to say a colorless liquid used to write a secret text or encrypted encoding appearing only under the action of heat or a reagent. Such an ink is also used in the field of authentication of documents: document US-A-4 227 719 thus describes a copy protection technique, whereby uses an alert pattern printed directly on the document and covered with camouflage printed with a ink whose density is chosen below the threshold review of the photocopier, so any photocopy of the protected must automatically show the pattern alert on the copy.
There is however a little difficulty easy to overcome, which is inherent in the fact that filing a nice ink on the face of a material wall plastic, whether rigid, semi-rigid or flexible, remains visible to the naked eye, especially when seen in grazing (or incident) light. As a result, even if the encrypted encoding cannot be read immediately by the counterfeiter, he can easily identify his location, and consequently perform destruction work on the zone concerned by the printing of the coding in sympathetic ink. This difficulty was not encountered with paper or cardboard products, because the fibers cellulosic allowed good absorption of sympathetic ink pigments, which made invisible printing.
The object of the invention is therefore to produce a packaging element with printed marking, the wall of which is plastic, either essentially transparent or tinted in the mass, and whose marking is not locatable, while being easily read by authorized persons with reading facilities adapted, which guarantees the identification and product traceability.
This problem is solved in accordance with the invention, in the case of a wall of the packaging element which is made of essentially transparent plastic, thanks to an element comprising on one face of said wall marking printed with sympathetic ink, said marking being sandwiched between a dispersing frame primary deposited on said face and on which said marking is printed, and a dispersing screen overprinted covering this marking and at least the area of said face which surrounds said marking, to make this last undetectable.
In this case, if we look at the film from the side opposite the marking, the primary dispersing frame allows avoid marking spotting, even under light grazing, and if the examination is done from the other side of the film, then the superimposed dispersing screen ensures the same anti-tracking function.
As a variant, in the case of a wall of the element packaging which is made of tinted plastic in the mass, the packaging element according to the invention has on one side of said wall a printed marking with a sympathetic ink, said marking being taken into account sandwich between said face on which said marking is printed, and an overprinting weft covering this marking and at least the area of said face which surrounds said marking, to make the latter undetectable.
So if we look at the film on the opposite side marking, the opacity of the tinted wall in the mass is sufficient to hide the marking, and if we examine said marking on the other side, the dispersing frame in overprinting avoids the marking of the marking, even by examination under grazing light.
Preferably, the or each dispersing frame has a speckled structure that takes up the structure used to print the marking. The structure then allows flood the marking area, strengthening the invisibility. In particular, the or each dispersing frame will be chosen random, so as to avoid identification by fine analysis from the surface.
It is also interesting to plan that the marking printed with a sympathetic ink at least partially overlaps identification elements printed on the same side. This allows to detect more easily any intervention in the marking area, which would alter identification elements, making then the unsaleable product when it is for example of legal notices indicating the origin, name or product composition.
The previous result is further improved if we provides that the sympathetic ink used for marking only appears under the action of a chosen chemical reagent to have an irreversible destructive action on the element wall. Indeed, any attempted intervention in the marking area has the effect of destroying the affected area of the wall irreversibly, which is immediately identifiable even by a consumer of average attention. Protection can still be refined by providing that the chemical reagent is chosen to have a delayed destructive action on the wall of item. Indeed, the destructive action will only appear very after the intervention carried out by the infringer.
According to another advantageous characteristic, the packaging element has an additional marking readable under UV light, unmarked printed in sympathetic ink. Preferably then, the additional marking is printed on the opposite side to the one with the nice ink marking.
It will generally be advantageous to provide that the side with the sympathetic ink marking and the or the dispersing wefts is the internal face, that is to say the face which is turned towards the object or the group objects to be wrapped. Indeed, this obliges the counterfeiter to cut the wall surrounding the object or group of objects packed to intervene in an attempt to destroy the marking present on the internal face of said wall.
It will generally be interesting to predict that the sympathetic ink marking is a coding used to guarantee the identification and traceability of the object or of the packaged object group. The term "coding" must be taken here in its broadest sense, in accordance with the most modern possibilities for data encryption.
The wall of the plastic packaging element may be rigid or semi-rigid, and form a container, in particular a bottle, a shell (blister), or a box.
Alternatively, provision may be made for the wall of the plastic packaging element to be flexible and to form a packaging film, in particular a heat-shrinkable and mono-oriented film. This is particularly advantageous when using such a film to form heat-shrinkable packaging sleeves.
The invention also intends to protect a heat-shrinkable packaging sleeve, which is made at from a stretch of heat-shrinkable and mono-oriented film having at least one of the characteristics above, film with two end edges sealed according to a generator of the sleeve.
The invention also relates to a method of production of a packaging film with the characteristics above.
- impression sur une face du film d'une trame dispersante primaire ;
- impression, sur cette trame primaire, d'un marquage en encre sympathique ;
- printing on one side of the film of a primary dispersing screen;
- printing, on this primary screen, of a marking in sympathetic ink;
- printing of a dispersing screen superimposed on the aforementioned marking.
- impression sur une face du film d'un marquage en encre sympathique ;
- printing on one side of the film of a marking in sympathetic ink;
- printing of a dispersing screen superimposed on the aforementioned marking.
- la figure 1 illustre schématiquement le mode d'obtention d'un élément d'emballage, ici sous forme d'un film, dont la paroi en matière plastique est transparente et porte un marquage invisible en encre sympathique, conformément à l'invention ;

In Figures 1 and 2, there is a strip of
At step a), the

In c), a marking 15 is printed with an ink

The applicant has carried out numerous tests

trame dispersante en surimpression 16.Thus in d), we arrive at a packaging film of which

Although the case of a transparent film is in
the most frequent practice, we can also plan
opaque or opaque packaging films in the
area of their face which surrounds the marking or more generally

packaging on the side of the film wall does not allow
nature to distinguish anything, especially the
marking printed in sympathetic ink. The problem remains
of course for an examination of the opposite side of the film,
especially in grazing light. In this case, the packaging film
comprises an

This is illustrated in Figure 3, where the steps a), b), c), d), mentioned above, which concerned a packaging film transparent are replaced by steps a '), c'), d ') analogous to steps a), c), d).
In a '), the packaging film denoted 10' receives the
identification elements printed 13, then in c ') there
this is the printing of the marking 15 in sympathetic ink,
and finally in d ') it is the deposit of the dispersing weft
superimposed 16, which is then the only screen used.
In this case, this superimposed
As was said above, it is interesting that the marking 15 printed in sympathetic ink at least partially overlaps identification elements prints 13. This is of course not a obligation, but further complicates the task of the infringer by making it practically impossible to preserve elements of identification during destruction work made in the area of the printed marking.
The protection conferred is further improved if the sympathetic ink used for the marking 15 only appears under the action of a reagent particular chemical, which is chosen to have an action irreversible destructive film.
Of course, we can provide different friendly inks, each with a developer which is dedicated for each application. Only the recipient knows the location of the marking and the correct developer to use, and can therefore decrypt the marking printed in sympathetic ink.
La figure 4 illustre schématiquement l'effet visuel des structures utilisées pour imprimer le marquage 15 et la ou les trames dispersantes 14,16.Figure 4 schematically illustrates the effect visual of the structures used to print the marking 15 and the dispersing frame (s) 14.16.

the
In 2) and in 3), we illustrated the same phenomenon with respectively a structure using sequences of crosses, and sequences of lines. It is naturally as examples, and we can use any other sort of possible structure with printing means current.
Provision may also be made for the packaging film has an additional marking readable under ultraviolet (UV) light, which is separate from the marking 15 printed in sympathetic ink. This additional marking preferably be printed on the opposite side to that which bears the marking 15 in sympathetic ink. Use such additional marking further complicates the task the counterfeiter, who must also intervene with a ad hoc reading to alter this marking. In any condition cause, even if it succeeds, by depositing a varnish or other adequate chemical, to drown the UV marking in a enlarged area making recognition and reading of this marking, there is still the printed marking in sympathetic ink which cannot be detected through the use of one or two dispersing frames.
In FIG. 5, a manufacturing method has been illustrated. a packaging film according to the invention. he this is of course a schematic illustration, aimed only to make the successive interventions understood made on film.
marquage.The
As mentioned above, the film packaging may be a heat-shrinkable film and mono-oriented. This is particularly interesting when we use such a film to conform sleeves heat shrinkable packaging. We illustrated in the figure 6 such a heat shrinkable packaging sleeve which will now be described in more detail.
encre sympathique. In Figure 6, there is thus a
In this case, the film constituting the
Preferably, the marking in
We thus managed to achieve a structure of shrink wrap or packaging sleeve film carrying a nice ink coding which is not only invisible due to the nature of the ink, but undetectable by using at least one frame dispersing. The security obtained here reaches a very high degree high, especially if you only use ink that appears under the action of a chemical reagent chosen to have a irreversible destructive action on the film.
The above description naturally applies similarly to cases where the packaging element in plastic is not a flexible film, but present a rigid or semi-rigid wall, forming a container, in particular a bottle, a shell (especially a blister) or a box. Again, we will use the same basic concept of sandwiching the marking in sympathetic ink, i.e. between two dispersing screens if the wall is transparent, either between the printed side and a dispersing screen in overprint if the wall is tinted in the mass.
The invention is not limited to the embodiment which has just been described, but on the contrary includes any variant using, with equivalent means, the essential characteristics stated above.
We could for example plan to also take sandwich UV marking, like ink marking nice, because its readability is not affected.
