Definitions

  • the present invention relates to material processing belts, in particular to Grinding and / or polishing belts for detachable fastening on the outer surface of a grinding roller.
  • a generic material processing belt in particular a grinding or polishing belt, has a work surface, a first and a second end and an end connection device to form an endless belt.
  • Such grinding or polishing belts are used in the form of closed belts to grind or polish round tubes, logs or the like.
  • the sanding belt is placed with the working surface facing inwards, on the one hand around the workpiece to be machined and, on the other hand, placed directly around an sanding belt drive roller of a belt sanding device.
  • the grinding belt ring is tensioned by the operator pulling the drive unit with the drive roller away from the workpiece.
  • the grinding belt must be cut open, placed around the object to be processed and then closed again to form a ring.
  • a two-ply tape which consists of one to one Ring firmly closed on the inside of the carrier belt and an externally detachable grinding belt consists.
  • the belt is placed on two spaced rollers of a grinding device, where the grinding surface comes to rest.
  • the two ends of the sanding belt are Complementally shaped to form a positive connection with a flush, flat connection point to build.
  • System-related grinding is on the inside and therefore the grinding of not possible in closed workpieces.
  • JP 08 126962 A which shows a material processing belt according to the preamble of claim 1, for a positive connection of an endless belt a transverse slot at one end and a head-like one at the other end Training counterpart. Since the length of the slot is smaller than the maximum diameter of the counterpart, is in the area of the slot and the counterpart for closing or Loosening the connection requires a pliable material, but this affects resilience and can adversely affect the security of the connection.
  • the invention has for its object a material processing belt, in particular a Sanding or polishing belt, to indicate that easily separable and again to an annular endless belt is lockable and overall has a longer service life.
  • This task is performed by a material processing belt with the characteristics of the independent Claim 1 solved.
  • the connecting device is a releasable positive-locking connecting device is formed with at least one recess with a closed edge at the first end and at least one counterpart at the second end. This reliably prevents the connection from being loosened during the transmission of the rotational movement from the grinding roller during the grinding process, even with high tensile forces.
  • a key idea of the invention can be seen in the fact that the two ends are closed a material processing belt by means of a positive connection, in which the Closed edge of the opening prevents the opening from widening when in operation the material processing belt is exercised.
  • Tests have surprisingly shown that material processing belts, the ends of which are connected according to the invention by a positive connection have extremely good running properties. Compared to an adhesive bond the connection transition softer, so that in operation the presence of the transition point hardly noticed.
  • a major advantage of the solution according to the invention is, moreover, that the positive connection can be released and reclosed as often as desired.
  • no further materials and / or tools are necessary for the production and separation of the connection.
  • this also means that there is no waste.
  • the opening and closing of the positive connection can be carried out very quickly, which is also of considerable use in practice.
  • the material processing belts are not pre-closed need, but can be shipped and stored in a space-saving manner when open.
  • the invention can be developed in an advantageous manner in that at the first end at least two recesses and at the second end a corresponding number of counterparts are provided. This reduces the tensile forces on the connection during operation distributed over several positive connections. This can be particularly the case with comparatively broad ones Grinding or polishing belts can be an advantage.
  • the at least one Recess as a perforation with a closed edge and the at least one counterpart like a head educated. This makes it particularly easy and quick to release and reclose as well as a high resilience in operation.
  • a shape can be understood, which consists of an end extension, the "head”, and there is a neck-like narrowing.
  • Such a material processing belt can advantageously be developed by that the recess is designed as an elongated hole in the longitudinal direction of the tape and that the length of the Perforation corresponds approximately to the width of the "head". It can then close the connection the second end with the counterpart is simply inserted into the perforation at the first end become.
  • the material processing belt so that the perforation has a first and a second area, the extent of the first area in Transverse direction of the material processing belt is larger than that of the second area. It is also advantageous in this context if the perforation is made in such a way that the first area faces the first end and the second area faces the first end is. Finally, it is expedient that the counterpart is formed in that second end on the two long sides at opposite locations, material recesses are incorporated.
  • the carrier material of the material processing belt has mechanical properties has no sufficient stability of an existing of recess and counterpart Allow positive connection, it can be advantageous if a surrounding area of at least a recess and / or the at least one counterpart is stiffened.
  • the recesses 11 in the manner of a Eyelets are each designed as perforations with different shapes and closed edges. They each have the shape of an elongated hole, with the longitudinal axis 25 of the perforation is parallel to the long sides 27 of the material processing belt 1 and the length 21 the perforation corresponds approximately to the width 23 of the material processing belt 1.
  • the perforations each have a first region 29 and a second region 31 on.
  • the extension 37 of the first region 29 in the transverse direction of the material processing belt 1 is larger than the extent 35 of the second region 31.
  • the first region 29, which the has greater extension 37, faces the first end 5 and the second is corresponding Area 31 facing away from the first end 5.
  • the first area the shape of a round hole
  • the second area the shape of an elongated hole.
  • the perforation has a T-shape.
  • Fig. 1c an example is one Perforation shown, which is essentially trapezoidal in shape. The extent of the perforation in the The transverse direction of the material processing belt 1 becomes with increasing distance from the first End 5 smaller.
  • Fig. 2 are three examples of possible head-like counterparts 13 to the in a, b and c Recesses 11 shown in FIG. 1. Equivalent parts are in Figures 1 and 2, respectively provided with the same reference numerals. Each of the counterparts shown in Fig. 2 is with each of the recesses 11 shown in Fig. 1 connectable.
  • the counterparts 13 at the second end 7 of a material processing belt are each formed by material recesses 39, which are incorporated at opposite locations on the long sides 27 of the material processing belt 1 are.
  • a neck-like constriction is formed by the material recesses 39.
  • the variants shown differ in the shape of the material recesses 39, which is semicircular in 2a, rectangular in 2b and trapezoidal in 2c.
  • FIG. 3 an example of a material processing belt 1 is shown, in which a positive connection by means of two recesses 11 at the first end 5 and accordingly with two head-like Counterparts 13 at the second end 7 can be produced.
  • FIG. 4 illustrates a material processing belt 1 in the operating state. That to a solvable Ring closed material processing belt 1 is on the one hand on a drive roller 2 Grinding device (not shown) placed and on the other hand around a workpiece 4 with a round cross section. The effective working surface 53 of the grinding belt 1 is turned inwards.
  • the positive connection of the two free ends 5, 7 of the grinding belt 1 is established that through the recess 11 at the first end 5 the inside and outside of the head-like counterpart 13 is inserted at the second end 7. Since the two free ends of the grinding belt 1 are directed outwards, the transition on the inner working side is flush and smooth. The connection point therefore does not produce any shocks when circulating around the workpiece 4.
  • the drive roller 2 or the grinder is pulled away from the workpiece in the direction of arrow 6 by the operator.
