Applicator according to one of Claims 12 to 15, characterized in that the suction nozzle of at least one suction device on the side (18e) of the web (18) facing away from the deflection direction (R) is aimed at the transition region (18d) between the edge strip (18a) and the remainder of the web (18).
  17. Applicator according to one of Claims 1 to 4, characterized in that the deflection device comprises a web moisture influencing device (28, 32), which deliberately moistens and/or dries the web (18) in predetermined areas of the web.
  18. Applicator according to Claim 17, characterized in that the web moisture influencing device (28, 32) acts on the transition region (18d) between the edge strip (18a) and the remainder of the web (18c).
  19. Applicator according to one of Claims 1 to 18, characterized in that the relative position of the deflection device (20; 22, 24, 26; 28, 32) is adjustable with respect to the web (18).
