Abstract

A cleaning device in the form of a self-wringing mop with a sleeve is disclosed. The worm (56) has a generally helical surface which cooperates with a drive (58) fixed with respect to the shaft, the worm (56) and the drive (58) in the manner of a cam and of a cam follower cooperate with each other. A user can push the wringer (51) forward by grasping the handle and axially sliding the handle (53) relative to the shaft (41). The cam interaction between the worm (56) and the drive (58) causes the wring sleeve (54) to rotate relative to the shaft (41) to force liquid out of the mop (48).
