Definitions
- the present invention relates to an applicator for applying a product to keratin fibers, in particular the eyelashes or the eyebrows.
- the invention relates also to an assembly of the type comprising a container for containing a reserve of product and such an applicator mounted at the end of a rod provided with a gripping element.
- a wiping member may possibly be provided in the container for, during the extraction of the application element, distribute the product on the applicator, and / or remove any excess product.
- the application element consists of an applicator of the comb type, having at minus a row of teeth, capable of loading product when the applicator is extracted from the container containing the product.
- the implantation of teeth or hair on a applicator is a determining parameter for the application of the product, in particular on the eyelashes.
- the implantation of teeth or hair on a applicator is a determining parameter for the application of the product, in particular on the eyelashes.
- Comb-type applicators are generally obtained entirely from molding, in particular of a thermoplastic material.
- One of the problems that can landing with such combs is due to the difficulty of multiplying types implantation of teeth, and therefore therefore, to multiply the types of makeup obtainable. Indeed, each new implantation of the teeth, in view obtaining a new make-up requires the use of a new mold. Through elsewhere, some types of implantation cannot be easily obtained from molding. In addition, the production of teeth having a small cross section, or having a complex shape, is not without problems.
- brushes type for makeup eyelashes, we also know brushes type "brushes twisted "comprising a core made up of two branches of a metallic wire twisted, so as to form helical turns. Before the stage of twist the wire, we introduce between its two branches, a layer of hair. After complete twisting, the bristles are tightened radially between the two branches twisted wire. The final shape of the brush is then obtained by clipping the brush to the desired profile according to the desired makeup.
- an applicator for the application of a product to keratin fibers, in particular the eyelashes or the eyebrows comprising an arrangement of hairs added to a non-support twisted, and suitable for applying said product, characterized in that said arrangement is formed by at least a first group of hairs arranged according to a first layer, and at least a second group of hairs, arranged in a second layer, said arrangement being such that the bristles of the first layer are cross with the hairs of the second layer when the applicator is observed transversely to its longitudinal axis.
- the hairs can physically touch each other at the place where they are cross, or cross at a distance from each other, the main thing is that when a fiber is engaged with the applicator, transversely to its axis, it can be supported between two bristles, separated according to a direction transverse to the X axis, from a distance which may be substantially zero, and in any event, less than the length of the fiber, and crossing each other by compared to each other.
- the term "reported” translates the fact that the hairs are manufactured separately, upstream of the manufacturing process the applicator, then implanted on the applicator, during the manufacture of the support, or after manufacture of the latter.
- the bristles can be obtained in a conventional manner by extrusion in a die, then by cutting to the required length.
- the hairs can also subject to various treatments, including chemical, thermal or mechanical. Then, they are installed on the support, especially during the molding of the latter, by overmolding or over-injecting the support on the bristles one end is arranged in the mold.
- the support consists of a more or less rigid thermoplastic material.
- the hairs can be added after molding the support, in particular by gluing, hot or cold stamping, stamping, rolling, welding or stapling.
- the bristles can be made of a material identical or different from the material forming the support.
- the bristles can be made of polyamide 6, 6-6, 6-10, 6-11, or 6-12.
- the support it can be in particular polyethylene, polypropylene, or elastomer.
- the product targeted by the invention is in particular a composition of mascara, more or less viscous consistency.
- a composition when it is applied to the eyelashes, aims in particular to color the latter and / or to lengthen them, and / or bending them. It can also have a treating effect.
- the bristles are arranged, at least in part, at the interior of said first and second plies in the form of tufts.
- a tuft can consist of 2 to 200 hairs, preferably 4 to 100 hairs, and more particularly from 5 to 50 hairs.
- the hairs of said first and second layers cross at a distance from their free end (s).
- the portions of hair located between the crossing point and the free end hairs define, due to the crossed orientation of the hairs, notches in “V” shape able to grip the eyelashes and to promote the spreading of the product on the eyelashes, when the applicator, in charge of product, is engaged with these last.
- such a "grip” allows the spreading of the product until the extreme tip of the eyelashes, and thereby gives the illusion of longer eyelashes.
- the eyelashes thus gripped will adopt a movement of bending corresponding to the rotational movement of the applicator.
- the hairs of the first layer cross with the hairs of the second layer, when the applicator is observed along its longitudinal axis.
- the layers themselves cross one by compared to each other.
- said first and second plies are parallel to each other.
- the hairs or tufts of hairs of a tablecloth are implanted on the support along an implantation line parallel to the line implantation of hairs or tufts of hairs from the other layer.
- the first and second layers can be arranged at a distance from one of the other. However, according to a preferred embodiment, said first and second layers are in contact with each other. Such a configuration facilitates the taking charge of the fibers to be treated by the V-shaped notches of which it was made state previously.
- said first and second plies are not parallel to each other.
- the hairs or tufts of hairs of a tablecloth are implanted on the support along an implantation line not parallel to the line implantation of hairs or tufts of hairs from the other layer.
- first and second layers can be arranged respectively in a plane perpendicular to a plane of implantation of the hairs on the support.
- said first and second plies can be arranged respectively in an oblique plane with respect to the implantation plane of the bristles on the support.
- one of the layers can be arranged in a plane perpendicular to the plane of implantation of the hairs, while the other is arranged in an oblique plane with respect to the implantation plane of the bristles.
- the first and second layers can diverge from each other.
- the two layers form an angle between them which preferably is less than 60 °.
- said first and second plies converge one compared to each other.
- said first and second tablecloths can cross.
- the first tablecloth then forms with the second tablecloths an angle of intersection, which can vary between approximately 15 ° and approximately 165 °.
- the first and second layers cross, they cross away from the free end of the hairs they contain. Of this way, are formed "V", at the bottom of which the eyelashes are supported.
- the applicator may further comprise a third group of hairs arranged in a third layer.
- a third layer may be further comprised in a third layer.
- two plies are parallel to each other, at least one additional tablecloth being arranged so that it intersects with one and / or the other of the two sheets parallel to each other.
- the hairs are parallel to each other.
- some hairs from the tablecloth can be in a first orientation inside the tablecloth, while other hairs of the same layer are of a different orientation.
- the hairs can be of constant density on the entire length of the tablecloth or of variable density. So it is possible in particular to provide in the vicinity of the free end of the applicator a zone greater density of hairs so as to promote makeup of the eyelashes from the bottom or from the eyelashes in the corner of the eye.
- said first and second plies can have heights over at least part of their axial length different. In this way, the hairs of the highest layer are given a more pronounced function of combing and separating the eyelashes.
- At least one of said plies can be of variable height, in particular gradually, over at least one part of its axial length. We can thus adapt the free edge of (said) said layer (s) at the implantation radius of the eyelashes on the eyelids.
- the support consists of at least two parts, in particular connected by a film hinge, and assembled together, in particular by snap-fastening, welding or gluing, so as to form said arrangement of hairs.
- a film hinge can be oriented perpendicular or parallel to the longitudinal axis of the applicator.
- the parts advantageously have a conformation such that said final arrangement hair is only formed after assembly of these parts. So, and in a fashion advantageous embodiment, a first part carries a first layer of hairs, while the second part carries a second layer of hairs. It's not that by joining these two parts we form the desired final arrangement, that is to say an arrangement with two layers whose hairs cross.
- At least one of said plies crosses the support and extends on either side of the latter.
- the support is traversed by a multitude of holes, not perpendicular to the plane implantation of the hairs on (or in) the support.
- the hairs are fixed in drilling, in particular by gluing, hot or cold stamping, stamping, snapping, welding or stapling, etc.
- two application portions identical or different, of so as to be able to confer different application characteristics in function of the application portion which is engaged with the fibers to be treat.
- the hairs can have asperities, at least on the part intended to be installed in the support. This is advantageous, especially when the support and the bristles are made of different materials, not compatible with each other, that is to say, unsuitable for create physicochemical bonds between them, in particular by thermofusion, during over-injection or over-molding of the support around the bristles.
- the hairs are inclined relative to the support plane at an angle which can vary between about 30 ° and about 150 °.
- the angle formed by the hairs of a tablecloth is different from the angle formed by the hairs on the other side so that, when the applicator is viewed from the side, the hairs of one layer cross with respect to the hairs of the other layer.
- the hairs of a tablecloth are oriented at an angle of less than 90 ° by relative to the support, while the hairs of the other ply are oriented in a angle of more than 90 ° in relation to the support installation plan.
- the hairs of a tablecloth are inclined symmetrically with respect to to the hairs of the other tablecloth.
- the hairs of a tablecloth can be oriented at 90 ° - ⁇ , while the bristles of the other layer will preferably be oriented at an angle of 90 ° + ⁇ , ⁇ being preferably at most equal to 60 °. This last characteristic is however in no case compulsory.
