Definitions
- the present invention relates to a bracelet with articulated links comprising a first row of side links marking the first edge of the bracelet, a second row of side links marking the second edge of the bracelet, the links of this second row being aligned with the links of the first, two aligned links defining a step in the longitudinal development of the bracelet, and at least a third row of central links inserted between the links of the first and second rows and offset by half a step from the links of said first and second rows, each link of the first and second rows comprising on the one hand and first and second respectively holes arranged in alignment with a third through hole drilled in a first link of the third row and on the other hand and respectively of the fourth and fifth hole arranged in alignment with a sixth through hole drilled in a second link in the third row, this second link adjoining the first, a first bar being engaged in the first, second and third holes and a second bar being engaged in the fourth, fifth and sixth holes.
- a through hole of a first central row link is aligned with two through holes drilled respectively in a link in the upper row and in a link in the lower row, from which there result three aligned holes in which is engaged a first bar retained in the link of the central row by a sleeve constriction.
- a through hole of a second link in the row center is aligned with two blind holes drilled respectively in the link of the upper row and in the link of the lower row, from which it results three aligned holes in which is engaged a second bar retained by hunting in each of the links of the upper and lower rows.
- the assembly described above however has several drawbacks. It will first be noted that the restriction by throttling of the first bar in the first link in the central row exerts a mechanical stress not negligible on this link, which can cause it to burst if it is made of brittle material and brittle, for example ceramic. It will also be noted that the hunting of the second bar in each of the second links of the upper rows and lower exerts on the latter an even more accentuated stress so that they can also be shattered during this operation if, as we already have said, these links are made of a brittle and brittle material. Finally, note that the hunting is not considered to be a sufficiently secure restraint since at the following movements exerted on the bracelet, the bar can be released from its seats.
- the present invention is remarkable in that the second bar is threaded at least at its ends to be screwed into threads made in the fourth and fifth holes drilled respectively in the links in the first and second rows.
- the present invention is also remarkable for the method of assembling the various elements constituting the bracelet, a process which will be described in detail in the description which follows.
- the bracelet 1 with articulated links 3, 5, 17, 18, 7, 16 comprises a first row 2 of lateral links 3, 17 which mark the first edge of bracelet 1.
- Bracelet 1 still has a second row 4 of side links 5, 18 which mark the second edge of the bracelet 1.
- the Figures 1 and 2 show that the links of the first and second rows are aligned with respect to each other, two aligned links, for example links 3 and 5, defining a step of the longitudinal development of the bracelet.
- Bracelet 1 finally comprises at least a third row 6 of central links 7, 16 which are inserted between the links of the first and second rows and which are offset half a step with respect to the links of said first and second rows.
- central links there only one row of central links is shown. Without it being necessary to show it, we will understand that we could have other rows of central links, for example three rows instead of one or another five rows instead of one.
- three rows of links central we would have in order a first side link, a second link central offset from the first, a third central link in phase with the first, a fourth central link offset from the first and a fifth lateral link in phase with the first, the essential to take into account being a odd number of rows of central links offset from each other other.
- each aligned link of the first and second rows comprises on the one hand and respectively first and second holes 8 and 9 arranged in alignment with a third hole crossing 10 drilled in a first link 7 of the third row 6.
- first bar 14 is engaged in the first, second and third holes 8, 9 and 10 and a second bar 15 is engaged in the fourth, fifth and sixth holes 11, 12 and 13.
- the invention is remarkable and original by the fact that the second bar 15 is threaded at least at its ends to be screwed into tapped holes in the fourth and fifth holes 11 and 12 which are drilled respectively in links 3 and 5 of the first and second rows 2 and 4.
- the connection between two side links 3 and 5, between which is inserted a central link 16, is thus produced by means of a simple bar 15 threaded at least in its ends and screwed into threads made in the holes 11 and 12 drilled in the side links 3 and 5. This gave a first section or first step of the bracelet.
- Figure 2 shows a second section of the bracelet, of the same invoice, which includes the assembly of the two side links 17 and 18 between which takes places the central link 7.
- the assembly means here include the bar screwed 19.
- the two sections of the bracelet just described are assembled at the by means of a strip 14 as shown in FIG. 2.
- a strip can be used spring as shown in the figure.
- This bar has in its central part a spring (not shown) which acts on two movable heads 20 and 21. When the bar 14 is in place, the heads 20 and 21 are projected into the holes 8 and 9 of the links 3 and 5. The two sections were thus made integral while allowing the articulation of one over the other.
- Figure 2 shows that the first and second holes 8 and 9 are through which allows, by pushing the heads 20 and 21 of the bar 14 by means of a small tool, to disassemble the first and second sections to lengthen or shorten to will the length of the bracelet.
- links for example three or four links located on the side of the bracelet clasp
- the following links will be provided with blind holes, this being implemented for an aesthetic purpose of hiding these next holes to look at.
- the sections equipped with blind hole links will no longer be removable.
- Screw a threaded bar 15 into the threaded holes 11 and 12 of the links lateral 3 and 5 does not exert any mechanical stress on the latter which could pop if they are made of ceramic.
- Use of injected ceramic also makes it possible to produce links produced according to the invention without resorting to any mechanical machining which is expensive when uses such material.
- this second section also being composed of two links lateral 17 and 18, of a second central link 7, these three links being connected together by a screwed bar 19. Then introduced into a through hole 10 of the second central link 7 a spring bar 14.
- FIG. 2 shows a link 25 extended over the entire length of the bracelet and pierced with a hole 26 intended to receive a final bar (not shown) also passing through a portion of the clasp (not represented).
- This link 25 is articulated on a central link 22 by means of a spring bar 23.
- the central link 22 is in turn articulated on the links lateral 17 and 18 by means of a spring bar 24.
