Definitions
- the invention relates to a non-stretchable bracelet comprising a plurality of elements articulated one after the other, each of said elements comprising on one side a central knuckle and on the opposite side two end knuckles, the middle knuckle of a element which is nested between the two extreme hinges of the neighboring element to form, by means of a connection, an apparent hinge, the middle and extreme hinges having come in one piece with the element of which they are part .
- the bracelet consists of a series of elements 1 articulated one after the other. To produce these articulations, each element 1 comprises on one side a median knuckle 2 and on the opposite side two end knuckles 3. On the left of FIG. 1, we see two elements 1 before mounting and on the right two mounted elements forming an apparent hinge 4. The middle knuckle 2 is dimensioned in such a way that it comes to overlap between the two end knuckles 3. Once these knuckles are aligned, we introduce the connecting means 5 shown here partially in the form of a pin. Incidentally, the appearance of the bracelet can be further improved by using nails 6 which close the visible end of the end knuckles 3.
- the knuckles 2 and 3 are added after the fact to the elements 1 to which they are fixed. This is generally achieved by welding or brazing.
- the welding does not pose any problem and resists well the stresses which can be exerted on it.
- the materials are different in order to give the bracelet a particular aesthetic appearance (bracelet sometimes called two-tone)
- the welding between elements 1 and knuckles 2 and 3 can no longer be guaranteed absolutely and there are high risks. of rupture of said weld. It has been found particularly that when it comes to welding gold knuckles on steel elements, the reliability of these welds leaves something to be desired. It should also be mentioned that after welding the knuckles, it is necessary to take up the elements to polish and satin them, which is expensive.
- the present invention provides a solution to the problem posed and is characterized by the fact that the central and extreme knuckles are each wrapped by a tube forming a decoration.
- Part of the bracelet according to the invention is shown in perspective and in exploded view in FIG. 2.
- the element 12 has a central core (not visible in the drawing) surrounded by an envelope, for example a tube, which is machine-pressed around the core so as to form on either side of the element of continuous knuckles. These knuckles are then cut to length as is apparent in Figure 2.
- an envelope for example a tube
- a solid profile is used which has on either side of its longitudinal direction horns which come folded afterwards to form the knuckles. These knuckles are then cut to length.
- the knuckles are cut so that the space left between two end knuckles 11 is substantially the same as the length of the middle knuckle 10.
- the cap 10 is then capped with a tube forming a decoration.
- a tube forming a decoration.
- a preferred solution consists in using a tube 13 provided with a longitudinal slot 14 and which is then slid in the direction of arrow 15 on the knuckle joint 10. It will be understood that the tube 13 is cut to the length of the knuckle joint 10.
- the hinge 10 is fitted with its tube 13 between two end hinges 11 in the direction of the arrow 16 and then the hinge is formed between two elements 12 using a connecting means which is in the form of 'a pin 17 which is threaded in the direction of the arrow 18.
- the pin 17 is held in place by suitable means known from the prior art.
- each of the end knuckles 11 With a tube forming a decoration to complete the joint.
- these tubes are in the form of split caps 19 and slid on the knuckles 11 in the direction of the arrows 20. To be held in place, these caps 19 can be chased-glued or chased - crushed on the extreme knuckles 11. Another original solution will be explained below.
- the elements 12 and the knuckles 10 and 11 which form an integral part of it are made of the same material, for example steel.
- the tubes 13 and caps 19 can be made of gold, in which case the bracelet alternately has a steel element and a gold joint.
- Other variants are possible where the tube 13 is made of steel and the caps 19 are made of gold or vice versa.
- the invention also makes it possible to save gold weight since this precious metal is only used for tubes and caps. and no longer for whole hinges as was the case of the construction described in FIG. 1 and which represents the prior art.
- FIG. 2 also shows a construction variant which, although not essential, facilitates to a large extent the fixing of the pin 17 and of the caps 19.
- each of the end knuckles 11 is provided, substantially in its middle, with a groove diametral 21, groove which extends to the element 12. This groove will allow both the fixing of the pin 17 and the caps 19.
- the cap 19 comprises, in addition to the slot 22 through which it can be slid on the knuckle 11, a protrusion 23 forming part of this slot.
- This protuberance 23 is arranged to lock into the groove 21 when the cap 19 is mounted on the knuckle-joint 11.
- the shape of the protrusion is such that the cap, once introduced on the knuckle-joint , can no longer stand out.
- the bottom of the cap can be pierced with a hole 24, which makes it possible to extract the pin 17 for lengthening the bracelet.
- the pin 17 is provided with a slot 25 formed partially in the direction of its length and carries a bead 26. It is understood that the slot 25 gives the pin a certain elasticity, which allows the bead to be housed in the groove 21 when the pin is in place.

Description
- la figure 1 est une représentation d'un bracelet réalisé selon l'art antérieur;
