Definitions
- the present invention relates to a closure cap with pleated skirt and gasket for soda bottle. She has some applications in the field of sealing bottles carbonated drink and more particularly in the champagne and sparkling wines.
- the shutter device is impermeable to liquids as well as gases and this to all stages of "foaming" and maturing of the drink.
- the pressure rise is due to the carbon dioxide which is produced by a fermentation process initiated by the introduction into a white wine called “still wine”, sugar, yeast and bentonite. This process which ends when the yeasts have consumed the sugar, leave a residue in the form of a deposit or lees.
- the closure device must therefore be watertight both start of fermentation to prevent oxygen or other environmental substances cannot get into the bottle, only after the pressure build-up, in order to prevent the gas carbon dioxide and / or the liquid cannot escape or only oxygen cannot penetrate the permeability device.
- This sealing must also be able to be ensured over periods of times which can be very long, the bottles can be stored for ten years or more.
- the present invention therefore proposes to improve the characteristics of the known devices with a capsule of joint sealing for closing a neck opening of a soft drink bottle, the neck having a surface external with a circular edge surrounding the opening, a ring and a counter-ring, the capsule having a bottom and, at the periphery said bottom, a pleated crimp skirt extending in a crown between said bottom and a free edge, said bottom having a surface internal intended to come opposite the opening and the edge circular of the neck and said skirt having an internal surface intended to come opposite the external surface of the neck after crimping of the capsule on the neck, the seal being disposed between the capsule and the neck.
- the skirt to a length such that it extends to the level of the counter-ring covering the ring, and the seal is elastomeric material, the arrangement of the elastomeric material at the bottom and the skirt being such that the joint is applied over the entire external surface of the neck up to at least the level of the free edge of the skirt.
- the present invention therefore makes it possible to improve the resistance and sealing the shutter thanks to the increase in surface of contact between the seal and the external surface of the neck and thanks to the use of an elastomeric material which has qualities particularly interesting mechanical and chemical inertia.
- the use of metal to make the capsule is particularly interesting in the case of a bottom capsule convex and for the application of cryogenic techniques of solidification and elimination of deposits or lees because the metal is a good thermal conductor.
- the volume of drink that is eliminated with the lees is reduced and the losses thus reduced.
- Figures 1A and 1B show a sealing device known from the state of the art.
- This device is a capsule 6 to pleated skirt intended to be set on a neck 1 of a bottle in order to close the opening 5 of said bottle.
- Bottleneck 1 is conventionally formed of an external surface comprising several contiguous parts which are, from the opening 5 of the neck, an edge circular 2 surrounding the opening 5, continuing with a ring 3 then by a counter-ring 4.
- the capsule 6 is formed of a shell 7 made of metal comprising two main parts: a bottom 11 and a pleated skirt 12.
- the bottom 11 is intended to come opposite the opening 5 and the circular edge 2.
- the bottom 11 continues peripherally by a pleated skirt 12 which is intended to come opposite the ring 3.
- the capsule 6 has internally at bottom level 11 a joint 8 of agglomerated cork covered with layer 9 of material or "spot".
- a plastic cover called “contraption” 10 is also put in action.
- the “bidule” 10 is intended to receive deposits or lees when the bottle is turned over and stored, neck towards the low.
- Figure 1B shows the capsule and the “widget” in Figure 1A positioned on the neck of a bottle to ensure its Shutter.
- a skirt of the state of the art has a height of about 7 mm while the skirt according to the invention may, for example, have a height included between 12 and 13 mm.
- FIG. 2 a capsule 13 according to a first mode of implementation with a flat bottom 16 and which is set on a bottle neck 1.
- This capsule 13 which is produced from of a metal shell 17, has a pleated skirt 14 whose end free device descends to the level of the counter ring 4.
- a seal 15 of elastomeric material disposed on the internal surface of the capsule 13 ensures the sealing by contact on the surface outside of the neck to the level of the free edge, or even overflow, pleated skirt 14.
- the contact area between the neck and the joint is particularly extensive and concerns the circular edge 2 as the ring 3 and the counter-ring 4.
- the seal 15 in elastomeric material is therefore compressed by the capsule 13 against the external surface of the neck 1 and more particularly against the circular edge 2, ring 3 and counter ring 4.
- the elastomeric material covers also the internal surface area of the bottom next to opening 5 to avoid direct contact between the metal of the capsule and drink.
- the thickness of elastomeric material is smaller in the area of internal surface of the bottom in. look of opening 5 and that is not compressed against the external surface of the neck.
- the seal doesn't need to have a particular shape, it has to essentially be bulky for power, after crimping the capsule, compressing on the external surface of the neck and sealing.
- a shape joint is envisaged particular and, for example, a rough imprint shape ring and counter ring.
- Such a capsule can also be used with the "Contraption" known from the state of the art.
- the capsule 13 'crimped on a neck is shaped so as to include a lees tank.
- the capsule 13 ′ has a bottom 16 ′ curved outwards by compared to the bottleneck.
- the 13 'capsule is made from a 17 'metal shell.
- the bottom 16 'delimiting the lees tank continues at the periphery with a 14 'pleated skirt of a height such that its free peripheral end reaches the counter-ring 4 of the neck 1.
- a seal 15 'made of elastomeric material is arranged on the inner surface of the capsule 13 'so sealing the assembly.
- the joint 15 ' is compressed by the capsule 13' against the external surface of the neck and more particularly against the circular edge 2, the ring 3 and the counter ring 4.
- the elimination of lees does not require the use of a "contraption”.
- the use of such a capsule with the method freezing the lees is particularly interesting because cold is much more effectively transmitted by the metallic shell with lees and liquids at the bottom 16 'forming a lees reservoir with respect to the known devices of the state of the art where the cold must also pass through the neck 1 and the “contraption” which is made of plastic and therefore not very conductive heat.
- the reservoir capsule of Figure 3 which is shown in section, allows to visualize a tank which has faces substantially flat which can facilitate the holding of the bottle, upside down, vertically or inclined according to the plane of the face of the tank implemented.
- other forms are being considered including a cylindrical tank shape with cap hemispherical.
- the size of the tank allows its introduction into the base of a another bottle in order to be able to “thread” bottles inside each other.
- Figure 4 shows an uncrimped capsule 13 and corresponding to the crimped capsule shown in Figure 2.
- the seal 15 has a thickness of material upper opposite the areas of contact with the neck and in particular at the level of the circular edge 2 of the ring 3 and the counter-ring 4 of the neck 1, with respect to the zone of the facing bottom of the opening.
- the folds of the pleated skirt 14 are filled with elastomeric material.
- a seal which is manufactured in situ in the capsule.
- the seal although continuous and in continuous contact with the external surface of the neck, does not fill all the space between the internal surface of the capsule and the neck, that is to say that the folds do not are not necessarily filled with elastomeric material.
- Such a case can arise for an attached seal which is introduced into the metal shell.
- this joint surface can have the general shape of the neck and / or present areas where the material is more or less thick according to the constraints which will be created there after crimping.
- the skirt having a general shape substantially in truncated cone after crimping and the external surface of the neck being bypassed, the distribution of stresses in the material elastomeric may be irregular.
- the dimensions indicated in this document are to relate to the dimensions of a standard neck as defined in the document from the National Institute of Bottling dated 31 March 1986 page 4 in the fact sheet concerning the ring crown 29 of Champagne. They are therefore indicative and depend on the dimensions of the neck which receives the capsule.
