Abstract

The binder, comprising a spine (4) and two flat covers (5, 6), has the fold lines (3a, 3b) between the spine and covers made with curved sections (16) which give the spine concave recesses. The binder has an overall width (L) of covers and spine of 400 - 700 mm, and the curved sections of the spine have a radius of 300 - 1200 mm. When the files are stacked in a row on a shelf the recesses in the sides of the spines leave gaps between adjacent files which allow the fingers to be inserted to grip them.

Description

The present invention relates to the field of stationary articles and it concerns, in particular, articles which can be described as binding or binder which, most often, are equipped internally with a mechanism suitable for securing documents, whether bound or not, which should be a specific order and preserve for ease of classification and consultation.

By mechanism, it is of course necessary to take into account all the known proposals of the prior art, whether lever and hoops, to rings or with pliers.

Articles of the above type are generally designed to accept the classification of a large number of documents and are carried out for this purpose so as to have sufficient resistance during handling and storage.

As a general rule, such stationery articles are made of cardboard compact or made of thick plastic material and possess, generally in a substantially median part, folding zones which are intended to delimit, in the sheet or plate of constituent raw material, a back having a longitudinal axis of symmetry and, on both sides of the latter, two dishes that may be of equal or different widths and heights.

Given the filing capacity of documents, the back presents, generally, a large width, so that a binder, whose vocation is to be stored in a standing upright orientation, becomes, when loaded, difficult to grasp and manipulate with one hand, because of its weight.

This is the reason why it is generally planned to lower part, in the back an opening, for example circular, circled or not, which offers the possibility to introduce a finger of the hand to facilitate the grip and the Workbook support

Despite this provision, classifiers of the known type, as recalled above, do not constitute articles that are easy to handle.

Un classeur selon le préambule de la revendication 1 est connu par example de document FR-A-2774631.A binder according to the preamble of the claim 1 is known for example from FR-A-2774631.

It is an object of the invention to provide improvements to articles of the type above, in order precisely to overcome the disadvantages of manipulation they are born, proposing only modifications which provide the user with gripping means improving the handling of such articles.

Pour atteindre l'objectif ci-dessus, le classeur selon l'invention comporte les caractéristiques de la revendication 1.To achieve the above objective, the binder according to the invention comprises the features of claim 1.

Various other features are apparent from the description below with reference to the accompanying drawings which show, by way of examples not restrictive embodiments of the invention.

Fig. 1 shows an article of stationery, of the binding or binder type, designated as a whole by the reference 1 . Conventionally, article 1 is constituted by a suitable sheet or sheet of raw material 2 which may be compact cardboard or, alternatively, a suitable plastics material, such as polypropylene. The sheet or plate 2 has two folding zones 3a and 3b which are made in any appropriate manner to delimit, in the sheet or plate 2, a back 4 having a longitudinal axis of symmetry x-x ' and, on either side of this back, two plates 5 and 6 whose widths, relative to a common transverse axis of symmetry y-y ', may be equal, as shown in FIG. 1, or different.

Fig. 2 shows that, in the case of producing the plate 2 from compact cardboard, the folding zones 3a and 3b may each consist of a creasing 7 marked in the thickness of the constituent raw material of the plate 2.

Fig. 3 shows an alternative embodiment in which the plate 2 is constituted by two films 8 and 9 which enclose, by appropriate welds, webs 10 constituting the back 4 and the plates 5 and 6 . In such a case, the films 8 and 9 are welded together, as designated by reference 11 in the portions corresponding to the boundary areas between the webs 10 , so as to form, as in the previous example, the folding zones, such as 3a and 3b .

Conventionally, Article 1 is provided, preferably on the inner side of the back 4 , a mechanism 12 which is suitable for the establishment, maintenance and removal of documents to be classified and / or consulted. Such a mechanism 12 may be of the type with hoops and lever, with rings, or even with clamps, without the particular structure selected having an impact on the object of the invention.

In a first embodiment of the invention illustrated in FIG. 1, each folding zone comprises a path 15 which is constituted, at least, by a curved portion 16 , for example centered on the axis of transverse symmetry y-y ' and which offers its convexity vis-à-vis that belonging to zone 3b being located relative to the latter at equal distance relative to the longitudinal axis of symmetry x-x ' .

4. According to the invention, each path 15 also comprises two parts 17 , of inverse curvature to that of the part 16 to which they are connected in a continuous extension. According to the invention, the parts 17 , of inverse curvature, are also connected to rectilinear parts 18 , extending, preferably but not exclusively, parallel to the longitudinal axis of symmetry x-x ' to reach the edges of the plate or sheet 2 , respectively 19 and 20 and which are considered low and high by taking into account a standing position of storage position on a bearing surface, such as a shelf 21 , as shown in FIG. 4 .

The particular conformation of the folding zones as said above is chosen to obtain the following results, when the plates 5 and 6 are bent in the same direction relative to the back 4 to be substantially arranged parallel to each other.

Because of this folding, only authorized by the lines described above, each dish 5 or 6 has, from its border zone with the back 4, a recess 22 whose greatest depth corresponds to the maximum curvature of the zone. 16 and which is connected and die in the general plane of the plate 5 or 6 , substantially from the connection between the portion 16 and the parts 17 of inverse curvature.

The folding, as described above, also has another incidence which is more particularly demonstrated by FIG. 5. Indeed, because of the presence of the opposite curved portions 16 vis-à-vis with respect to the two traces 15 , the folding that occurs causes deformation of the back 4 , the substantially median portion forms a bulge or bulge 23 protruding from the outside of the back 4 .

The structural modifications above which occur as a result of the folding of the dishes 5 and 6 allow, as is evidenced by FIGS. 4 to 6 to delimit, in the substantially median zone or in any case that corresponds to the situation vis-à-vis the parts 16, a significant reduction in the maximum width 1 of the back 4 . Such a reduction in width makes it possible to delimit, in a way, an easily accessible and gripping grip handle for handling the backrest.

The ergonomics of the handle, designated as a whole by the reference 25 , is also provided by the bulge or bulge 23 which is intended to marry the palm shape of the hand in its gripping position.

The structural modification that occurs has a second incidence which is more particularly highlighted by FIGS. 4 and 6 showing the side-by-side classification of several items 1 in folded condition and placed in a standing orientation.

Indeed, the recesses 22 which, for two binders side by side, are in opposition, delimit between them a clearance 26 which allows the easy insertion of the fingers of the hand during gripping and promotes adaptation to the handle 25 when it is particularly appropriate to extract an item from a storage of a plurality of these arranged side by side.

The handling advantages resulting from the handle 25 and the presence of the clearances 26 are all the more significant that the width of the back 4 is important, which is related to the storage capacity offered by Article 1 .

These constructive arrangements described above may be the subject of a number of dimensional characteristics without departing from the scope of the invention.

The experiments have made it possible to consider that, for an overall transverse width of the sheet or plate 2 , taken parallel to the transverse axis of symmetry y-y ' and, for example, defined by the width L which can be between 400 and 700 mm. and, for a width 1 of the back 4 between 25 and 100 mm, the curved portions 16 could be defined by a radius of curvature of between 300 and 1200 mm.

In the example according to FIG. 1 and for the same dimensional conditions as those above, it can be retained to give the parts 17 of inverse curvature a radius of between 80 and 500 mm.

An alternative embodiment is illustrated in FIG. 7 according to which each trace 15 is only constituted by a curved portion 16 1 which leads directly to the edges 19 and 20 .

Fig. 8 shows another variant embodiment according to which each trace 15 comprises a convex curved portion 16 2 which is connected, without the presence of the portions of inverse curvature 17 , directly to the rectilinear portions 18 .

Fig. 9 shows a secondary provision of the invention which is intended to take account of the bulge 23 imposed on the back 4 in the folding position of the plates 5 and 6 .

Given this bulge, which disappears when the article is fully open, it is expected to fasten the mechanism 12 on the inner face of the back 4 by fastening means 30 admitting a relative play in the direction of the axis of longitudinal symmetry x-x ' . The means 30 may consist of rivets 31 which pass through buttonholes or oblong holes 32 made in the parts of the back from which the bulge 23 originates in the closed state of the file.

If in the previous embodiments, it has been mentioned the existence, for the constitution of the traces 15 , of parts 16 , 17 and 18 which are expressed in symmetrical relation with the axes x-x ' and y-y' , it must be considered a variant that would not go beyond the scope of the invention and that would consist of moving, of the same measurement, for example the parts 16 , to bring them closer to either the edge 19 or the edge 20 .

It can be envisaged also, as illustrated in FIG. 10, to make parts 16a which are not defined by a single radius of curvature but which, on the contrary, comprise either a succession of rays or a single one, such that R 1 which is connected to a corresponding rectilinear part 18a by a fold line 31 oblique.

Such an embodiment leads to delimiting, in the folded position of the article, a gripping handle 25 which is located in the lower part of the back 4 with respect to the axis y-y ' and which can offer a clearance 22 more accentuated in part lower than the upper part of the handle.

Fig. 11 shows another possible embodiment in which the parts 16a , of the type described above, are inversely realized.

Claims (13)

  1. An ergonomic file with a back, of the type comprising a back (4) extended on each side of a longitudinal axis of symmetry (x-x') and beyond two folding areas (3a, 3b) by two flats (5 and 6) whose widths, considered parallel to a transverse axes of symmetry (y-y') orthogonal to the longitudinal axis of symmetry, may be equal or different,
characterised in that the two folding areas adopt two lines (15), at least partly curved, so as to define, in the folded position of the flats, a recess (22) between two files when they are positioned side by side in the part of each flat arising from the back and a curving (23) of the latter.
  2. A file according to claim 1, characterised in that the two curved lines (15) have two facing convexities (16).
  3. A file according to claim 1 or 2, characterised in that the curved lines (15) are symmetrical with respect to the transverse axes of symmetry (y-y').
  4. A file according to one of claims 1 to 3, characterised in that the curved lines (15) end at the edges (19 and 20) of the flats and of the back, bottom and top considering an orientation in the upright storage position.
  5. A file according to one of claims 1 to 3, characterised in that the curved lines (15) are connected to two rectilinear folding lines (18) ending at the bottom and top edges.
  6. A file according to one of claims 1 to 5, characterised in that the curved lines (15) are connected to two folding lines with opposite curvatures (17).
  7. A file according to claim 6, characterised in that the opposite curvature lines (17) are connected to the rectilinear folding lines (18).
  8. A file according to claim 6, characterised in that the opposite curvature lines (17) end at the bottom and top edges considering an orientation in the upright storage position.
  9. A file according to one of claims 1 to 8, characterised in that, for a total width of file (L) taken on the axis of transverse symmetry (y-y') and lying between 400 and 700 mm and including a width (1) of the back (4) of between 25 and 100 mm, the curved parts (16) are each defined by a radius of between 300 and 1200 mm.
  10. A file according to one of claims 1 to 9, characterised in that the curved lines (15) comprise rectilinear folding parts (18) having, parallel to the longitudinal axis of symmetry, a length of between 5 and 100 mm.
  11. A file according to one of claims 1 to 10, characterised in that the curved lines are connected to opposite curvature lines (17) each defined by a radius of between 80 and 500 mm.
  12. A file according to one of claims 1 to 11, characterised in that the curved lines connected to the back, whose face, referred to as the internal face, considering the direction of use of the file, supports a document fastening mechanism (12).
