Claims (5)

  1. Apparatus for printing and feeding semi-rigid labels (5) to packing and sealing machines such as sausage clip machines or the like, having a forward feed device for drawing a strip (5a) of labels (5) from a supply (7) and conveying the label strip on along a guide path (4) up to an issuing bay, the forward feed device having at least one finger (13) which reciprocates in a translational manner and which cooperates during the working stroke with a shoulder (5b) of the respective label (5') in the forward feed direction, whilst during its reverse stroke it moves over the next label (5"), characterised in that the forward feed device has trolleys (12) movable to-and-fro parallel to the guide path (4), which on the one hand carries the finger (13) and on the other hand a printing or embossing roller (15) of a printing bay, which during the working stroke is liftable and during the reverse stroke is pressable on to the next label (5) in order to inscribe the same.
  2. Apparatus according to claim 1, characterised in that the finger has the shape of a two-pronged fork (13), which engages behind two shoulders (5b) of the respective label which are flush with the forward feed direction.
  3. Apparatus according to claim 1 or 2, characterised by a pin (23) extending perpendicular to the label forward feed plane for biasing the next label in the plane of action of the finger or of the fork (13) during the reverse stroke.
  4. Apparatus according to claim 1, characterised in that the printing or embossing roller (15) presses the label (5) against a stationary printing matrix (18) provided with adjustable character sets.
  5. Apparatus according to one of the preceding claims, characterised by a deflecting section (22) for deflecting the front portion (5d) of the label (5) at the outlet end of the guide path (4).
