Definitions
- the invention relates to an adhesive tape with a multilayer composite carrier based on coextruded, stretched polypropylene, one side with adhesive coated, for use in proving the unauthorized opening of a package.
- security labels are particularly large Importance.
- US 4,184,701 describes security labels which are made up of several layers of paint or separating layers and thereby have low adhesion of the product layers to one another. In combination with a strongly adhesive adhesive, such layers separate irreversibly from one another, which indicates the opening of the package.
- the security label has a lower one, which can be removed from a carrier, and on the packaging first adhesive layer to be applied on the underside of a first label material on the top of which a second label material is applied using a second layer of adhesive is applied.
- the strength of the adhesive strength of the first adhesive layer between the packaging and the first label material is different from the thickness the adhesive strength of the second adhesive layer between the first label material and the second label material.
- Packaging tapes to prove the unauthorized opening of packaging boxes and other packaging are also known.
- EP 0 404 402 A2 and US 4,876,123 multilayer cardboard sealing tapes a letter transfer to the packaging surface when trying to open it guarantee and thus represent an opening security.
- this is one relatively large and at the same time flat bonding surface necessary.
- security labels are used to secure the opening, use is a suitable release paper is necessary in order to machine security labels to be able to apply. Due to the use of the necessary release paper results in an unfavorably high level of complexity when handling security labels Large quantities of release paper as waste product after the application of the labels and very little flexibility in adapting the safety lock to the respective packaging system or to the respective opening system of the Packaging.
- a certain type of security label can be set based on the Size and structure of the label applied only to a specific packaging become.
- shrink films that can also be used as proof of unauthorized opening (Sleeves) show disadvantages in the sometimes lack of individualization and through very high material consumption.
- Extrusion is the economically most important process in plastics processing.
- Multi-layer foils based on thermoplastics can be coextruded produce, taking into account the chemical and structural composition of each Layers whose cohesion or interconnection are controlled can.
- Two- and three-layer films are important in the packaging industry. It is known, for example, that films consisting of non-heat-sealable coextruded, highly crystalline polypropylene layers a weak bond of the film layers with each other. By using polypropylene layers with different Degree of crystallinity or existing through the use of film layers from copolymers such as polypropylene-ethylene, the bond between the film layers can be varied. In this way, the gap strength of the Composite film based on polypropylene and adjusted to the adhesive strength of the adhesive be adjusted.
- Multi-layer composite films can be produced using flat film extrusion.
- An overview of the process of flat film extrusion and production of composite films (coextrusion), for example, contains the article "Manufacture of composite films by extrusion coating and extrusion lamination "(J. W. Hoff in "Extruded fine films and composite films", VDI Verlag, Düsseldorf.
- the type of film used Longitudinal cutting process important for the tensile strength and elongation at break of the product.
- the cut edge quality resulting from the choice of the longitudinal cutting method used can have a sharp-edged cutting edge and a rough one Generate cutting edge that clearly shows the tensile strength and elongation at break of the slit Foils affected.
- the object of the present invention is to provide an adhesive tape which is used during removal is destroyed by the surface of the packaging and irreversibly divides itself or tears, which makes it impossible to re-attach to the original state makes, so that evidence of manipulations of a quantitative or qualitative nature on packaged product is recognizable.
- the invention relates to an adhesive tape with a composite carrier based stretched, coextruded, at least two-layer polypropylene film, one of which Side is provided with an adhesive and the film layers one below the other have low separation force.
- the total thicknesses are particularly between 15 to 120 microns, preferably between 20 to 50 microns.
- the thicknesses of the outer film layers are particularly between 2 and 10 ⁇ m, preferably between 3 and 5 ⁇ m.
- the carrier of the adhesive tapes according to the invention based on biaxially stretched coextruded Polypropylene consists of several layers. Particularly preferred for production
- the adhesive tapes according to the invention are three-layer films based on biaxially stretched, coextruded polypropylene, which differ in crystallinity or in the composition (polypropylene-ethylene copolymers) distinguishing film layers be combined in such a way that there is little bonding between the layers results.
- the adhesive tapes according to the invention are biaxially stretched, multilayer, coextruded films based on polypropylene with a stretch ratio in the longitudinal direction between 1: 4 and 1: 9, preferably between 1: 4.8 and 1: 6 and a stretch ratio in the transverse direction between 1: 4 and 1: 9, preferably between 1: 4.8 and 1: 8.5.
- the elasticity modules achieved in the longitudinal direction measured at 10% elongation according to ASTM D882, are usually between 1000 and 4000 N / mm 2 , preferably between 1500 and 3000 N / mm.
- the elasticity modules achieved in the transverse direction are also between 1000 and 4000 N / mm 2 , preferably between 1500 and 3000 N / mm 2 .
- the adhesion of the adhesive on the thermoplastic film based on stretched, coextruded polypropylene improved by corona treatment or flame pretreatment because just that Surfaces of the film based on polyolefins can be known by these Procedures such as corona and flame pretreatment are treated.
- a The article provides an overview of the methods of surface treatment, for example "Surface pretreatment of plastics for adhesive bonding" (A. Kruse; G. Krüger, A. Baalmann and O.D. Hennemann; J. Adhesion Sci. Technol., Vol 9, No 12, pp 1611-1621 (1995)).
- the adhesive tape is between the polypropylene film and a layer of a primer is applied to the adhesive layer.
- the polypropylene film carries on the side opposite the adhesive, a paint, in particular a release coating.
- Release coatings based on silicone systems are particularly suitable as release coatings of the adhesive tapes according to the invention. are preferred as a release coating UV-curing silicone systems based on 100%, but also solvent-based silicone systems can be used as a release coating for the adhesive tapes of the invention become.
- the application amount of the release coating on the carrier material is preferably 0.1 to 3 g / sqm.
- the layer application is the Release paint set from 0.2 to 1.5 g / sqm.
- the adhesive of the adhesive tape according to the invention can consist of an adhesive based on solvent-containing natural rubber and acrylate adhesives. Adhesives based on acrylate dispersions are preferred, adhesives based on styrene-isoprene-styrene block copolymers are particularly preferred. These adhesive technologies are known and are used in the adhesive tape industry.
- the amount of adhesive applied to the backing material is preferably 15 to 60 g / sqm. In a further preferred embodiment, the layer application is from 20 to 30 g / qm set.
- the adhesive tapes can be produced by known processes. An overview of conventional manufacturing processes can be found, for example, in "Coating Equipment”, Donatas Satas in the Handbook of Pressure Sensitive Adhesive Technology, second edition, edited by Donatas Satas, Van Nostrand Reinhold New York pp. 767-808. The known methods for drying and cutting the adhesive tapes can also be found in the Handbook of Pressure Sensitive Adhesive Technology, pages 809-874.
- the adhesive tapes of the invention can also be printed using conventional methods.
- the longitudinal cutting process used in the adhesive tapes according to the invention is the squeeze cutting process, which separates the adhesive tape in between in the running direction of the adhesive tape web by means of a rotating circular knife under a pressing force and a counter-pressure cylinder.
- the rotating circular knife can be designed by different geometries of the cutting edge and by different surface roughness on the cutting flanks so that the cut adhesive tape is influenced in its cutting edge roughness.
- the cut edge roughness directly influences the tear strength of the cut adhesive tape, ie the rougher the cut edge, the lower the tear strength of the adhesive tape.
- the reduction in tear strength can be used to apply an adhesive tape after the Not being able to remove the application from the bonded surface without destroying it.
- edges of the polypropylene film therefore preferably have a serrated cut.
- inventive concept also includes the use of an inventive one Adhesive tape on packaging to prove unauthorized opening, by making the tape irreversible when removed from the surface of a package is destroyed and clearly indicates an attempted opening by tearing or Splitting in the thickness direction due to the low tear resistance.
- the adhesive tape according to the invention is for use as a security seal for the clear detection of an unauthorized attempt to open or one Opening suitable for a large number of valuable or sensitive goods.
