Definitions
- the invention relates to a method for controlling breathability of microorganisms in a fermentation process wastewater treatment, especially in an activated sludge process.
- the activated sludge process is the most common Processes for aerobic wastewater treatment at home and industrial Sewage.
- the wastewater is usually first processed through mechanical purification stages, such as rakes, oil, grease and sand separators, sieves etc. directed to separate substances with larger particle size.
- mechanical purification stages such as rakes, oil, grease and sand separators, sieves etc. directed to separate substances with larger particle size.
- aeration plant which consists of a ventilated, homogeneous mixed aeration tank and a sedimentation tank (Secondary clarifier) exists, treated.
- the "activated sludge” is cleaned of Waste water separated and for the most part in the "aeration tank” returned. Excess quantities of this residue, Microorganism and water mixture are called “surplus sludge” further stages of sludge treatment (biogas plant, Drainage, drying, incineration, etc.).
- the goal of wastewater treatment is removal if possible all ingredients, but especially carbon, Nitrogen and phosphorus compounds.
- the sludge load is particularly important for the operation of aeration plants.
- the sludge load is defined as the ratio of the daily BOD 5 room load to the activated sludge volume in the ventilation pool, i.e.:
- Sludge load kg BOD 5 per day / kg dry matter of the activated sludge.
- Full cleaning can be achieved if the sludge load is less than 0.3 kg BOD 5 / kg dry matter of the activated sludge per day. With a larger load, you only get a partial cleaning.
- WO 93/08922 describes a method for regulation and / or to reduce undesirable viscosity and COD values in paint coagulation waste water used in technical processing of spray paints - for example in metal painting in the automotive industry.
- the paint coagulation waste water becomes an adsorbent added and a paint sludge precipitated.
- the microorganisms contained in the aqueous systems lead thereby increasing the viscosity with increasing population number the aqueous system through microbially produced polysaccharides, the so-called organic slime.
- organic slime When you reach one a certain cell density takes place within a few hours high slime production and then the viscosity remains constant at a high level over a long period of time.
- N-suppliers easily water-soluble inorganic Salts and / or selected water-soluble nitrogen compounds added, especially urea or aminocarboxylic acids, such as glutamic acid when N suppliers with delayed release of the nitrogen.
- the present invention has for its object Activated sludge process in wastewater treatment a process specify with which also depending on the time of day strongly changing or increasing supply volume a rampant population of microorganisms in nutrients prevented and with which a constant dismantling of one suddenly occurring very high supply of nutrients is made possible.
- the invention therefore relates to a method for control the breathability of microorganisms in a fermentation process in wastewater treatment, especially in an activated sludge process, characterized in that depending of the supply amount of nutrients for the microorganisms part of the supply amount is inaccessible to the microorganisms is made, or the degradation by the microorganisms is, by adding ad- and / or absorptive to the nutrients acting substances.
- Finely divided SiO 2 derivatives, hydrophobic and / or hydrophilic activated carbon and metal salts are advantageously selected as substances which act ad- and / or absorptively on the nutrients.
- Enzyme-inhibiting substances selected from organic tertiary and quadronary nitrogen compounds, with Except for choline derivatives, added.
- Known polymers can be used for the process according to the invention use for an ad or absorption reaction.
- polymers examples include all water-soluble commercially available Polymers, especially all homopolymers and / or copolymers of acrylic acid and its derivatives.
- the nitrate formation is reduced by the measures according to the invention, so that denitrification is easily ensured.
- the activity of the microorganisms can be determined by measuring the oxygen requirement as a function of the amount of nutrients (mg O 2 / g dry matter and minute).
- the reduced autolysis also makes an essential one Energy saving in ventilation due to a lower Oxygen demand achieved with simultaneous increased production of methane in the biogas if there is "digestion" for sludge treatment is connected downstream and an associated increased energy production.
- a specific condition for the selection pressure is met by selecting a specific ratio of the quantity of oxygen supplied to the quantity of microorganisms and / or the quantity of nutrients in the range from 50 to 2,000 kg per ton of chemical oxygen demand (COD).
- COD chemical oxygen demand
- the amount of sludge (dry substance) produced per ton of COD in the prior art is significantly reduced, and the activated sludge can be better drained.
- activated sludge formed in this way with low oxygen contents shows higher conversion rates in biogas plants, and the resulting biogas has a lower CO 2 content in the methane and thus leads to advantages in combustion processes in the gas engine or in heaters.
- Another advantageous method is for development a certain biocenosis a certain condition for the Selection pressure by choosing a certain ratio of amount of oxygen supplied to amount of developed carbon dioxide and / or amount of nutrients in the range of 50 to 2,000 kg per ton chemical oxygen demand (COD) complied with.
- COD chemical oxygen demand
- COD chemical oxygen demand
- BOD 5 biological oxygen demand within 5 days
- the wastewater treatment plant was operated according to the generally recognized rules, with the result that unsecured cleaning services, in particular the nitrate nitrogen values (NO 3 -N), could not be observed.
- blowers supply the "activation tank” with 100% output an air volume of 2 500 cbm / h, i.e. 60,000 cbm / day.
- the chemical dosage is directly dependent on the amount of air (Product with the trade name ENTEC 118) coupled. At 100% fan performance, 10 kg / h ENTEC 118 dosed.
- the product contains 8.5% Al +++ in the form of aluminum hydroxide chloride and 0.7% enzyme-active additives.
- the Al derivative is used for PO 4 -P precipitation (precipitation product AlPO 4 ), for binding nutrients and for "growth area for the microorganisms".
- phase 1 still shows the effects of excessive Autolysis. Despite a fan performance of 100 to 90% from From July 1 to July 18, the oxygen setpoint could not be Basin 1 can still be reached in basin 4. Simultaneously to 100% fan power was dosed with 240 kg ENTEC 118 daily.
- the factor 0.085 is used to convert the product quantity to the active substance, since the merchandise contains 8.5%.
- the target values for the oxygen values in pool 1 and pool 4 are achieved, the amount of air to be supplied is reduced to 70% of the maximum output (from 60,000 cbm / d 42,000 cbm / d), the amount of chemicals is directly coupled Control reduced to 168 kg / d.
- Adjustment of the active substance to 168 x 0.085: 750 0.019 (kg / kg TS in the aeration).
- the target value for the oxygen concentration is reduced to 0.2 mg / l. This reduces the amount of air required from phase 2 to 65% in phase 3.
- the goal of wastewater treatment is a secured carbon (C) -, Nitrogen (N) and phosphorus (P) removal from the Wastewater that is discharged into water.
- the example has shown that the necessary operational safety is produced and the results are currently available for large wastewater treatment plants required values for COD ⁇ 40 mg / l; Total P ⁇ 1 mg / l; Total N ⁇ 10 mg / l.
- a wastewater treatment plant in a city has approximately 100,000 equivalent inhabitants encumbered, i.e. the CBS cargo into the ventilated Aeration tank is 10 t COD / day.
- the biomass shows one as a measure of the settling properties Sludge index, i.e. a sludge volume of 150 after 30 minutes up to 250 ml / g.
- Sludge index i.e. a sludge volume of 150 after 30 minutes up to 250 ml / g.
- the achievable concentration in the sediment of the Settling tanks fluctuate between 0.5 and 1.0% depending on the hydraulic Load on the system.
- the system can be operated at maximum due to the Settling properties of the biomass contaminated with 1,000 cbm of wastewater / h become. With higher loads, the biomass is in such washed out to a great extent that the legally required Maximum values can no longer be met.
- the amount of oxygen is determined by the oxygen concentration in the ventilated aeration tanks controlled and regulated, the number the required aerator varies between 2 x 10 to 14, i.e. between 20 and 28 aerators.
- the specific amount of dry matter is at 3 t COD / day 733 or 800 kg / t COD at 3.5 t COD / day 629 or 685 kg / t COD.
- the gas generation in the biogas plant in which all the sludge produced in the sewage treatment plant is treated, averaged 3,000 cbm / day with 64 vol% methane and 36 vol% CO 2 .
- the biomass shows after 8 weeks as a measure of the settling properties a sludge index, i.e. a sludge volume after 30 Minutes from 50 to 70 ml / g.
- a sludge index i.e. a sludge volume after 30 Minutes from 50 to 70 ml / g.
- the achievable concentration in Sediment from the sedimentation tank fluctuates between 1.0 and 1.5%, each after hydraulic loading of the system.
- the system can do a maximum due to the maximum wastewater volume of 3,000 cbm Waste water / h can be loaded, even in this extreme case the legally prescribed maximum values are observed.
- the amount of oxygen is determined by the concentration of oxygen and microorganisms controlled in the aerated aeration tank and regulated, the number of required aerators fluctuates between 2 x 6 to 8, i.e. between 12 and 16 aerators.
- the specific amount of dry substance is ... at 8 t COD / day 225 or 250 kg / t COD ... at 10 t COD / day 180 or 200 kg / t COD.
- the gas generation in the biogas plant in which all the sludge produced in the sewage treatment plant is treated, averages 4,000 cbm / day with 68 vol% methane and 32 vol% CO 2 .
- the control and regulation in the method according to claim 5 is carried out by varying the dosing quantity of the ENTEC 118 / S product (Consumption 150 kg / t COD) depending on the supplied Air volume, as well as the variation in the amount of microorganisms in the ventilated aeration tanks by controlling the return sludge ratio (Waste water: return sludge).
- the percentage of oxygen that is converted into carbon dioxide is in relation to the "built-in" oxygen by air volume measurements the supplied and the discharged air as well to determine the oxygen and carbon dioxide contents (on-line measuring devices). (The proportion of oxygen in the biomass is determined after State of the art hardly considered.)
- the selection pressure of a biocenosis is successfully developed to develop a population which converts as few carbon sources (energy carriers) as possible by means of energy (air input) to carbon dioxide by varying the enzyme-inhibiting substances. This significantly reduces the oxygen consumption per tonne of COD, the oxygen content for the development of carbon dioxide and the amount of dry matter per tonne of COD, as will be shown below.
- control Product ENTEC PE100 (PE 100: mixture of cationic polymer and enzyme inhibitor), which contains a high proportion of enzyme inhibitors Contains substances.
- the consumption is 200 kg ENTEC PE100 / t carbon dioxide.
- This measure allows the oxygen consumption per ton Reduce COD to 600 kg / t COD within 48 hours
- the proportion of oxygen for the development of carbon dioxide is reduced to 100 kg / t COD and the amount of dry substance is 700 kg / t COD.

- Figur 1
- die Abhängigkeit der Lüfterleistung von der Zeit beim Betrieb einer Kläranlage für die Phasen 1, 2 und 3;
- Figur 2
- die Abhängigkeit der chemisch oxidierbaren Stoffe CSB und BSB5 von der Zeit während der Phasen 1, 2 und 3 beim Betrieb einer Kläranlage;
- Figur 3
- die Abhängigkeit des Phosphorgehalts (mg/l) von der Zeit während der Phasen 1, 2 und 3 beim Betrieb einer Kläranlage;
- Figur 4
Fuchs/Mayen) installiert.
