Definitions

  • the invention relates to a self-service machine, in particular a cash dispenser, comprising a housing, with a control panel containing controls for data input and information reproduction, with a housing opening for input and / or output of material, and with a cover for the housing opening, at least between a first, the housing opening releasing position and a second, the housing opening concealing position is movable.
  • Self-service machines of the kind mentioned above are used in the banking sector e.g. used as ATMs or for making transfers and other banking transactions.
  • a housing opening serves e.g. for the issue of banknotes, remittance documents or account statements.
  • self-service machines are also used to deposit money; In this case, the input of the banknotes takes place via the housing opening.
  • self-service machines can be e.g. use for ticket sales.
  • An ATM of the type mentioned is described in DE 196 34 024 A1.
  • This contains a shutter for output ports and panels, which is movable by means of a motor drive means between an open position and a closed position.
  • Three diaphragm segments are each pivotable on a pivot bearing in its common plane.
  • the shutter is disposed behind a cover, behind which the shutter segments are pivoted in the open position.
  • the shutter is used in the closed position of the overlap of a dispensing opening and a control panel.
  • No. 4,567,358 describes an automatic teller machine with an arcuate shutter located in a two-part control panel, which is arranged in the vertical part of the control panel and is pivotable between a first position covering at least parts of the control panel and a second position not covering at least parts of the control panel. In the closed position, the shutter protects input / output openings and controls against thieves, rain and dust.
  • the object of the invention is therefore to provide a self-service machine of the type mentioned above, which is characterized by improved protection of the housing opening and a reduced footprint in the field of control panel.
  • the invention is based on the idea not only to close the housing opening, but to hide completely by a part of the control panel is designed as a cover.
  • About the housing opening is the input and / or output of objects, such as cards and keys, as well as receipts, banknotes, etc.
  • a personal identification number PIN
  • data input elements such as keyboards, readers for smart cards in question.
  • the housing opening disappears entirely behind a part of the control panel, manipulations, e.g. in the form of attached to the housing opening devices, difficult.
  • the housing opening is arranged from the user's point of view behind the part of the control panel designed as a cover. This arrangement of the controls and the housing opening the space required in the area of the control panel is reduced.
  • the devices can also be installed in places where there is not enough space available for conventional self-service devices. Self-service machines according to the invention can thus be set up "closer to the customer".
  • the user's attention can be directed to the housing opening as soon as he needs it. This improves the operator guidance for self-service machines and facilitates the operation.
  • lifting, turning or pivoting devices can be used for the movement of the control panel part designed as a cover between the first and the second position.
  • the designed as a cover part of the control panel can be moved horizontally and / or vertically between the first and second position. It is particularly advantageous to move the part designed as a cover vertically between two approximately parallel planes. This results in a short travel by which the cover is moved, which corresponds substantially to the height of the housing opening.
  • the part of the control panel designed as a cover can be pivoted from the first to the second position, whereby a short travel also results.
  • the storage will be mounted on the side facing away from the user of the housing in order not to be recognized and therefore particularly well protected.
  • the pivot axis is located on one of the housing opening remote edge of the cover formed as part of the control panel. This avoids that when pivoting in the second position, a part of the cover rises above the control panel and hinders the user in accessing the housing opening.
  • control panel can be designed as a cover. It is conceivable, especially in this context, to arrange a single, excellent control element on the control panel, which can be used both for data input and for information display.
  • the excellent control element may be, for example, a screen with touch input ("touch screen”).
  • touch screen a screen with touch input
  • liquid crystal display screens Liquid Crystal Display, LCD
  • One such screen can be particularly easy to move from the first to the second position due to its low weight and also has a flat screen surface, which can be used as a storage area, for example.
  • the self-service device could also have speakers, with the help of the user example, acoustic operating instructions can be given.
  • the self-service device can equip the self-service device with a recording device for image and / or sound signals.
  • the recorded image and / or sound signals can be e.g. for monitoring the self-service device.
  • At least the trained as a cover part of the panel should be arranged like a desk.
  • Such a control panel is ergonomically favorable and is particularly suitable for devices in which the user performs business transactions with complex data entries.
  • FIG. 1 shows an ATM 10 according to the invention, which is in a first operating state, in which a housing opening 12 is covered by a control panel 14.
  • the control panel 14 is bordered by a frame 16 which is pivotally mounted in a housing 18 of the ATM 10 in a bearing 20.
  • the pivot axis is perpendicular to the plane of the drawing and lies in the plane of the user facing side of the housing 18.
  • the housing opening 12 is disposed on the bearing remote, upper edge of the frame 16.
  • a non-pivotable housing portion 21 surrounds the frame 16.
  • a two-part housing box 22 On the side facing away from the user of the control panel 14 is a two-part housing box 22 with a Upper box part 24 and a lower box part 26. An upper and a side housing wall 28 and 30 close the frame 16 and the housing portion 21 upwards and to the side.
  • a touch-sensitive surface 32 of a LCD screen On the outward, ie the user-facing side of the control panel 14 are a touch-sensitive surface 32 of a LCD screen, not shown, and a speaker 34.
  • a stop edge 36 points into an interior 38 of the ATM 10th
  • the user touches the surface 32.
  • the user enters, for example, his PIN and the amount of money desired by him.
  • the inputs are evaluated by a central controller, not shown here, which is located in the interior 38 of the ATM 10. In this evaluation, the PIN and the credit rating of the user are checked. If all user inputs are correct, the central controller instructs a controllable drive (also not shown here) to pivot the control panel 14 to the second position.
  • the control panel 14 is recessed into the housing 18 so that the user can better recognize, among other things, the characters displayed on the LCD screen.
  • housing opening 12 is located on the side facing away from the user of the control panel 14 and is not visible to him.
  • FIG 2 shows a front view of the ATM 10 of Figure 1.
  • the speaker 34 a video camera 40 and the touch-sensitive surface 32 of the LCD screen are shown.
  • the housing opening 12 is covered by the control panel 14 and is located approximately in the region of the upper housing wall 28.
  • FIG. 3 shows the ATM 10 in a second operating state, in which the control panel 14 is in the second position releasing the housing opening 12.
  • a first directional arrow 42 indicates the pivoting direction of the control panel 14.
  • a second directional arrow 44 indicates the withdrawal direction of the banknotes.
  • the central control of the ATM 10 has instructed the controllable drive to move the control panel 14 in the direction of the first directional arrow 42 until the frame 16 touches the stop 36.
  • the housing opening 12 is now located on the user-facing side of the control panel 14. Good to see in the first position ( Figure 1) to the control panel 14 subsequent housing portion 21st
  • the banknotes are transported by a transport device not shown here to the housing opening 12 and can be removed by the user.
  • the central control has the controllable Drive to move the panel 14 in the direction opposite to the arrow 42 until the panel 14 contacts the housing portion 21.
  • the control panel 14 is then again in the first position in which the housing opening 12 is covered.
  • FIG. 4 shows a front view of the ATM 10 in the second operating state.
  • the housing opening 12 is now visible, and he can remove the banknotes.
  • the display of the LCD screen is still well visible, so that the user in this phase of the operation further hints and assistance, e.g. can be given in the form of help texts.
  • this phase of operation can be monitored.
  • FIGs 5 and 6 show a second embodiment of the invention, a cash deposit machine 46 with a housing 48.
  • a control panel 50 and an insertion 52 are arranged horizontally to each other.
  • the control panel 50 is pivotally mounted in the housing 48 about a pivot axis 54 and rises from the pivotally mounted side to the insertion opening 52 adjacent side to the horizontal, so that there is a desk-like arrangement of the control panel 50.
  • All other elements of the cash deposit machine 46 correspond to the respective elements of the cash machine 10, which is shown in Figures 1 to 4, and are to be provided with the same reference numerals.
  • the user inserts a chip card, not shown here, in a likewise not shown card reader.
  • the user enters his PIN and the number of an account to which the amount of money to be credited.
  • the central controller evaluates the user inputs and instructs a controllable drive to pivot the control panel 50 to the second position.
  • FIG. 6 shows the cash deposit machine 46 in the second operating state, in which the control panel 50 is in the second position releasing the insertion opening 52.
  • a directional arrow 54 indicates the pivoting direction of the control panel 50.
  • the user can now insert the banknotes in the direction indicated by an arrow 56 in the insertion opening 52.
  • the banknotes may be stacked in the insertion opening 52 in this embodiment.
  • the control panel 50 is pivoted in the direction opposite to the arrow 54 in the first position.
  • the amount of money determined by the meter is displayed on a screen of the control panel 50, not visible here, and the user is prompted to confirm this amount.
  • the desk-like arrangement of the control panel 50 is ergonomically particularly low, so that it can also be used in self-service devices that require more extensive user input. These can be eg devices with which transfers are made.
  • the Insertion opening 52 may also be formed trough-shaped, for example, to accommodate keys, cards or other objects.
  • self-service devices 10 and 46 are made available whose housing openings 12 and 52 are particularly well protected because they are only made accessible to a bank customer who needs them to carry out a banking business. This avoids that only by the optical presence of the housing openings 12 and 52 someone is animated to damage the openings.
  • the control devices 10 and 46 according to the invention are also particularly user-friendly, because on the one hand the user only sees the elements of the devices 10 or 46 required in one operating phase and, on the other hand, points to the housing openings 12 and 52 by the movement of the control panels 14 and 50 becomes.
  • control panel can be reduced, and thus provide the user with larger storage space compared to devices in the prior art. This, in turn, makes sense especially with ATMs that can make transfers and other banking transactions.
