Abstract

The method involves sending a traffic message request from a radio device and a service provider providing at least one message via a base station that is transmitted to the radio device. The traffic message is transmitted as a TMC message by radio, esp. as a short message. The request contains information about the intended use of the toll roads and/or the type of vehicle and/or the length of the position code and only corresp. return traffic messages are transmitted.

Description

Stand der TechnikState of the art

The invention is based on a request method and for processing traffic reports by type of the main claim.

A method and arrangement is already known from WO 98/26396 for the information of mobile participants. in this connection data on request and / or automatically between one Central unit or a mobile subscriber unit transfer. This data should serve in particular to: mobile subscribers to transmit traffic information. Basically, two ways are possible. On the one hand the mobile subscriber receives all the information from the head office given to traffic management, so that the Road users completely on the information of the Central is instructed. The other option is there too see that the road user is on board his vehicle carries a navigation device with which it is possible is, from the given current position to one Target position to receive traffic management. In this In this case, the control center is only used to withdraw from the traffic center transmits such traffic information that could lead to a hindrance to the journey, especially traffic jams, Road closures, diversions or weather-related disruptions. This information can either be transmitted in plain text or in a reduced format Form, whereby only codes are transmitted, and these codes then in the receiver complete messages. One such measure is described for example in DE-OS 35 36 820. To send and to To receive the information, there must be a radio for each participant, both the sending of messages and the receipt of messages allows. Such a radio device can, for example, be a usual mobile radio device, but it can also be transmitters that are on a send certain frequency information to a control center and for example Broadcast receivers capable of receiving customized messages. In In this case, the central office can then process the information about broadcast a radio station and take care of it based on the individual identifier carry that the message can only be evaluated by the recipient who is customized accordingly.

Es ist jedoch nicht angegeben, ob und ggf. welche Informationen von der Zentrale in Folge der Abfrage übertragen werden.DE-A-196 51 143 sees the possibility of a traffic information request to a Head office in front of, at which the start or alternatively stand and the destination point to the headquarters be transmitted. However, it is not specified whether and, if so, which information from are transmitted to the control center as a result of the query.

Vorteile der ErfindungAdvantages of the invention

The measure according to the invention has the advantage that due to the Central transmitted information only such traffic messages are transmitted which the driver also wishes to hear. Therefore, not all of him Traffic news but only the traffic news on his route announced, but this is also limited by the fact that different Traffic information is not relevant to the driver because he is paying Does not want to use roads and / or a certain route with trucks can drive or his recipient is only able to enter certain information evaluate a location code and not others. By the measure according to the invention it is thus achieved that the message to be transmitted is kept much shorter and thus transmission capacity is saved. This in turn means that the Query at the head office because of the lower demands on the Transmission channel can be represented more cost-effectively than if all messages, whether these are required or not, must be transferred.

According to the invention, not all traffic reports that meet the query criteria correspond to broadcast, but only those traffic reports in one predetermined corridor between the current point and the target point. This ensures that the number of traffic reports continues is restricted, taking care that the corridor is chosen so that possible and sensible bypasses are also recorded.

The subclaims result in advantageous further developments and Improvements to the method outlined in the main claim. So it is beneficial that Send traffic announcement request only on request. This ensures that the user has in his hand how often and how often he receives traffic news want to query. Especially if he finds that after a query Traffic disabilities are not expected, it is often sufficient that new ones Queries are only required after a longer driving time. The user of the device is therefore able to send the queries according to his wishes.

It is also advantageous to send the traffic report request at predetermined time intervals make. This measure relieves the driver of a vehicle. He doesn't always have to think about whether a new traffic announcement is necessary, rather depending on the route traveled or according to time requirements Query on traffic disruptions made so that the driver without him have to think about it myself, constantly about the current traffic situation, especially about new ones Disabilities on the streets, is informed.

It is also advantageous because of the received Traffic reports a route from an instantaneous To calculate point to a target point. Here, the Traffic jams and disabilities caused by the traffic request were taken into account when determining the route become.

An embodiment of the invention is in the drawing shown and in the following description explained. FIG. 1 shows a mobile vehicle radio and a central radio transceiver, Figures 2 and 3 den Structure of the data word used by the mobile subscriber 4 is sent, the structure of the data word, sent back from the central office to the mobile subscriber is, and Figure 5 with a map section Explanations of the operation of the invention.

Beschreibung des AusführungsbeispielesDescription of the embodiment

Figure 1 shows a in a vehicle, not shown built-in mobile device 4, which is able to Antenna 5 broadcast radio broadcasts and such too receive. Under a mobile device z. B. radios to understand who work according to the GSM or AMPS standard, however also individualized radio receivers, e.g. B. DAB receiver, which have a return channel, or where the Broadcast the broadcast signal to another Cellular channel takes place. The mobile radio device 4 is equipped with a Navigation device 6 connected, the navigation device 6 is able due to the current location a route and a vehicle and an entered destination determine who has to drive the vehicle. This is the Navigation device 6 connected to a mass storage device 7. The Mass storage device 7 contains information in digital form over roads of a certain geographical area. The memory also contains information for evaluation of traffic messages transmitted in coded form, these traffic messages encoded in the radio receiver 4 be received. Details on this are in the DE-OS 35 36 820. Furthermore, the memory 7 Information about the location codes transmitted coded Traffic messages filed and their link with the Location codes of the digital map. Figure 1 also shows one Base station 2, which is able via an antenna 3 To receive radio signals from the mobile device 4 and Send messages back to the mobile device 4. The In addition to a mobile radio base station, a base station can be used Cellular network also a radio transmitter, e.g. B. a DAB station be who send out customized messages can, with a return channel receiver or Cellular receiver. Base station 2 is with a memory 1 connected, wherein in the memory 1 information about Traffic disturbances and traffic obstructions read be coded and available for broadcast be put.

Now the driver of a vehicle starts a journey and has entered a destination in his navigation system, so is either set manually if the driver does so has, for example at the push of a button, or automatically from Users of the mobile device 4 connect to the Base station 2 set up.

A radio telegram is sent to the base station 2 in accordance with Figure 2 discontinued. The radio telegram according to FIG. 2 has a header 10, on the basis of which the base station can recognize can request what type of messages from whom. Furthermore, the message according to FIG. 2 has a field for the Data type 11. Data type 11 indicates how the data part 12 of the radio telegram from the mobile station to Base station is set up. Based on this information now the base station is able to on the one hand the identifying the sending station and, on the other hand, the Recognize the request profile. From the corresponding service provider The transmitted radio telegram is in the base station evaluated according to data type 11.

The data part 12 is more detailed in FIG. 3 shown. In the exemplary embodiment, the data part 12 a content field 14 indicating which of the possible data be transmitted at all. Part 15 shows whether the user of a vehicle toll roads want to use or not. In part 16 the vehicle type transfer. This indicates in which vehicle type the mobile device 4 is installed, e.g. B. whether it is a truck, a bus or a passenger vehicle. It can also be used to transmit whether the towing vehicle carries a trailer with him or not. Eventually the size of the desired part 17 Location code transfer requested. With this it is possible also individual requirements regarding the transmission of the location codes. For example, stands that Navigation device 6 only a memory CD of a limited Region available so it can be via the location code information be requested that the location coordinates with only very few bytes have to be transmitted, since only location codes a specific region can be evaluated. Stand in contrast in the memory 7 of the vehicle, for example Data from all over Europe is available, so it is not enough only to transmit a location code, since then not is known whether this location code for France, Great Britain or Germany applies. In this case to transmit extended location codes that range are larger. However, as stated above, not is always mandatory, by specifying that For example, the location code is only 8 bits, 16 bits or 32 bits should be wide, that more can be achieved Transmission capacity is saved. In part 18 of the Further transmissions are possible. It will be like this offer themselves in particular, the current location of the vehicle and the destination. With that Transmitted information can be found on the traffic information a corridor between the current location and Target point can be limited so that not all Traffic news must be transmitted. That too are savings in the to be claimed Transmission time possible.

From the service provider in the base station 2 they are now received data evaluated and in memory 1 after relevant and necessary traffic news checked. The traffic news, the traffic obstructions, their Length and other details included, are now according to figure 4 transmitted to the mobile device. This is the data word 4 preceded by a header 20, the header 20 contains information about the mobile device to which the Data should be made available. Subsequently at number 21 the number of traffic reports specified. At point 22 there is content information transfer. This content information relates especially on information that the following data mark so that they are correct from the navigation device can be interpreted. An essential statement that must be transferred here is the release number so can be recognized for which version of the database the Location codes refer to the following transmitted data. In particular, by occurring over time Name changes and changes in the course of the road and at Otherwise it could be the entrance and exit of highways Difficulty in transferring. At position 23 the traffic reports are now transmitted. Here is the In principle, the number of traffic reports is unlimited. by virtue of however, given the limitations, it is strong reduced.

In diesem Fall erhält der Lastkraftwagenfahrer nur die Staumeldung bezüglich der Straße 34.This will be explained in more detail with reference to FIG. 5. With S is the current status of a vehicle on the Street 30 shown. The destination is point Z on the Street 32 provided. The navigation system now has calculates that the fastest way from the current Location S to destination Z via streets 30, 31 and 32 leads. Is now on street 31 Traffic congestion, this is due to the requirement of the Data telegram according to Figure 2 in the data telegram according to Figure 4 communicated. The navigation system then becomes one Bypass route calculated that the streets 30, 33, 34 and again comprises 32. The dashed line at street 34 should indicate that this is a toll road. Is at the toll road 34 also reported a traffic jam, this message will not be transmitted if the driver of the Has communicated the vehicle in the data telegram according to FIG. 2, that he does not want to drive on toll roads. In in this case it would automatically change the route choose and drive from road 30 to road 33 and Follow this until you reach road 32 and then to To reach target point Z. The transmission of traffic congestion on toll road 34 is then unnecessary because he does not want to use the toll road and this, for example, by entering it into his navigation system has already ruled out. It is also assumed that Road 31 is closed to trucks. Therefore, is on communicated to location 16 of the data telegram according to FIG. 3, that the type of vehicle is a truck, the traffic jam on road 31 will not be communicated because the Trucks are not allowed to drive on road 31 anyway drive and therefore a traffic jam notification on road 31 is not necessary. However, he receives a traffic jam notification with respect to road 34 as the truck driver has indicated that he is also willing to pay fees Streets, so to use the street 34. In this case the truck driver only receives the traffic jam message regarding road 34.

Because of this simply chosen embodiment can be seen that it is through the transfer of additional Information becomes possible, the amount of data to be transmitted from a service provider to the vehicle reduce, which on the one hand reduces the transmission time and on the other hand helps to save costs.
