Claims (23)

  1. A closing device for casement windows or doors with a flexible toothed belt (1) arranged circumferentially around the casement frame and actuatable in particular by a handle, and having a tensioning device for the toothed belt (1) and locking elements (3) moved by the toothed belt (1), characterized in that the toothed belt (1) can be tensioned by means of a tensioning device (2) arranged at a fixed position on the casement frame (8) and forming a unit consisting of two mounting plates between which are arranged two deflector elements and a drive sprocket positioned between the deflector elements by means of a disengageable arrestor, the toothed belt being guided between the deflector elements around the drive sprocket.

  3. A closing device according to any of the preceding claims, characterized in that at least one deflector element (4,5) is rotatable and in particular a roller or a wheel.

  18. A closing device according to Claim 17, characterized in that the locking hardware part (14) comprises a longitudinal hole (15) in which the locking element (3) lies displaceably.
  19. A closing device according to Claim 17 or 18, characterized in that at the outer sides of the arms (32a) of a U-profile-shaped connector (32) a projection (34) is provided which can be engaged in an undercut in the groove of the casement frame.
  20. A closing device according to any of Claims 17 to 19, characterized in that the locking hardware part (14) comprises cutouts/recesses (33) at the spanning positions of the connector (32).
  21. A closing device according to any of Claims 17 to 20, characterized in that the locking element (3) comprises a closing element (16), in particular a pin, and a drive part (17) engaging with the toothed belt (1) which are connected to each other by means of a member (18) lying in the longitudinal hole (15).
  22. A closing device according to Claim 21, characterized in that the drive part (17) has a toothing (19) corresponding to the toothed belt (1).
  23. A closing device according to Claim 22, characterized in that the locking element (3) of the locking hardware part (14) is connected on one side with the toothed belt (1).
