- the upper edge 22 of the grille 12 and the support keeper 23, as well as keeper 13, are fixed to the cover 11 by screws fixing 32 engaged in the screw passage holes 28.
- the thickness of the edges of the opening 31 is slightly greater than the thickness of the upper recess 25 of the strike support 23 corresponding by example.
- the strikes 13 are adjustable in position relative to the latches 14 corresponding, integral with the cross member 15.
- the strike pins 13b can pivot in the slots 26 as long as the fixing screws 32 are not tight. When the screws are tightened, the strike pins 13b are pressed against the bottom of the housing 29 by the flanges 27 of the strike support 23 and the keepers 13 are locked in position.
- the front wall 20 of the body 19 of the grille 12 has two sleeves connection 33, each disposed at the periphery of an air passage 21. These sleeves 33 are arranged to be engaged in two orifices 34 complementary, formed in a plunging part 11a of the cover 11 forming the nose of it. These sleeves 33 are also arranged for receive from the outside of the cover 11, a decorative trim formed of two rings 35 of metal, for example, such as chromed metal. Each sleeve 33 and its corresponding ring 35 together comprise elements of additional fixing of a quick connection device. Rings 35 include for example hooking lugs 36 formed at their periphery. These pins 36 are arranged to engage in lights corresponding stop 37 provided around the perimeter of the connection 33. The rings 35 are arranged to rest on the face outside 38 of the nose 11a and thus fix the grille 12 on the cover 11.
- the safety hook 16 at the opening of the cover 11 is mounted behind the front wall 20 of the grille 12. It is arranged to pivot around a fixed axis of rotation linked to the body 19 for example.
- the hook 16 also includes an actuating lever arranged to make pivot this hook so as to unhook it from the stop rod 17 secured to the cross member 15, to release the cover 11.
- the compression spring 18 is arranged to bear on the stop of spring 18a formed on the cross member 15 and slightly lift the cover 11 when unlocking the latches 14. It is for example mounted on a stud for holding the body together 19.
- the assembly of the calender block 10 of the present invention which incorporates all the parts, namely the two strikes 13, the hook 16 and the spring 18, is carried out as follows.

- the operator introduces the screws 32 in the holes 28 positioned opposite the threaded holes corresponding in the cover 11. It screws the fixing screws 32 into the cover 11 to fix the calender block 10 while simultaneously blocking the keeper supports 23 and keepers 13.
- the operator can, before tightening fixing screws 32, move the strike supports 23 in their housing 29 by sliding along the x and y axes. Similarly, if the strike wires 13a are not positioned correctly relative to the latches 14, the operator can, before tightening the fixing screws 32, pivot the keepers 13 around their corresponding axis 13b.
- FIG. 5 represents a variant of the embodiment described previously.
- Each keeper support 23 is molded into the rim upper 22 of the grille 12 and is rigidly connected thereto. Plate 24 and the upper recess 25 are thus mounted clamped respectively in the housing 29 and in the upper opening 31, having shapes complementary.
- the screw passage holes 28 then have a section square or rectangular.
- Each hole 28 has longitudinal dimensions and transverse slightly greater than the diameter of the fixing screw 32, defining a mounting clearance x in a longitudinal direction and a clearance mounting y in a transverse direction between the lateral faces of the hole 28 and those of screw 32, these mounting clearances being intended to catch up with dimension dispersions.
- Each screw 32 rests on a washer 32a disposed under the upper recess 25 of the strike support 23 by example.
- FIG. 6 shows another embodiment of the calender block 10 of the present invention which differs from the described embodiment previously by a different hood locking device 11.
- the two strikes 40 are of the so-called "mushroom strike” type. They include each, in known manner, a cylindrical pin 41 provided with a head frustoconical end 42 having an introduction face and a face stop.
- the cylindrical pin 41 is linked, for example screwed, to the strike support 23 fitted or molded into the corresponding housing 29 of the flange upper 22 of the grille 12.
- the keeper 40 is arranged to be adjusted in position relative to its strike support 23 in a direction substantially perpendicular to it, by screwing or unscrewing the pin 41 for example.
- Each keeper 40 also includes a spring compression 43 placed around the pin 41 between the strike support 23 and the frustoconical head 42, the outside diameter of the spring 43 being slightly greater than the maximum diameter of the head 42.
- Each keeper is arranged to cooperate with a lock 44 of the so-called type "guillotine lock" integral with the cross member 15.
- the lock 44 comprises, in known manner, a strike passage 45 arranged to receive the strike 40.
- the transverse dimensions of this passage 45 are less than the diameter outside of the compression spring 43, the edges of this striker passage 45 defining a spring stop 46.
- the latch 44 includes a finger locking 47 retractable, substantially perpendicular to the passage of keeper 45, arranged to engage the stop face of the head frustoconical 42 of the striker 40.
- the mounting of the grille block 10 on the hood 11 of the vehicle is similar to the one described above.
- the calender block 10 of the present invention has many advantages. It is simple and inexpensive to manufacture. It constitutes a pre-equipment module assembled, including in particular the grille 12, the strikes 13 or 40, the safety hook 16, and the spring (s) 18 or 43 for opening the cover 11, which mounts easily and quickly on the hood 11 of the vehicle, with a minimum setting. Therefore, this calender block 10 can be mounted on the hood 11 of the vehicle by a single worker.
- the grille block 10 of this invention provides a particularly economical technical solution, although adapted to the current requirements of car manufacturers.
