Definitions
- the present invention relates to an assembly, advantageously but not exclusively, for a board game, comprising a support plate having at least one group of boxes of similar shapes and dimensions, each box of the group carrying at least a first series of symbols, possibly complex, belonging to a family of symbols, and at least one batch of cards, each card in the batch having substantially the same shape and the same dimensions as the boxes of said group which is associated with this batch of cards.
- Board games are known which associate a game board carrying boxes which are crossed by a pawn, the player drawing a card corresponding to the type of the box on which his pawn is placed.
- the number of possibilities associated with this category of game is limited to the number of cards of the type considered that includes the game so that it quickly results for the players a great repetition of the situations likely to appear.
- the object of the present invention is to overcome the aforementioned drawback by providing an assembly consisting of a support plate provided with boxes, and cards, which makes it possible, during successive games played by players, to obtain a number of situations far greater than the number of cards in the game.
- each card in the batch is provided with at least one window at a location corresponding to one of the symbols of the first series of symbols of the group of boxes and in that each card in said batch carries a second series of symbols belonging to said family and which, when the card covers one of the boxes in the group, masks and, if necessary, completes the first series of symbols with exception of at least one symbol from the first sequence that appears through the window, in order to form a new symbol sequence likely to constitute a winning combination.
- - Figure 1 is an overall view of the support plate illustrating the game and the course of the player; and, - Figures 2 to 6 show a view of the playing face of a card each belonging to a batch of cards associated with a group of boxes on the board in order to simulate one of the aforementioned casino games.
- the support plate 10 carries boxes placed side by side so as to form a loop path.
- the boxes could be arranged in another way constituting a route from a starting point to a point of arrival without forming a loop.
- a single group of boxes is associated with the different batches of cards of FIGS. 2 to 6 in the form of boxes 12 having an outline in the shape of a slot machine or an inverted U.
- boxes 12 carry three series of symbols, respectively from the edge of the plate 10 towards the center of the plate, consisting of:
- first series of symbol 12a comprising two complex symbols of a playing card each associating a figure (king, queen, valet or ace) or a number (from 1 to 10) and a color, that is to say one of the elements among the clover, the square, the heart and the spade
- a second series of symbols 12b comprising three figurative elements placed side by side simulating the three dials of a slot machine, these figurative elements corresponding to the association of a color and a figure from the group comprising a fruit, a number, a diamond or a word such as the word "BAR”, and
- All the boxes 12 can be associated with one of the cards illustrated in FIGS. 2 to 6 according to the rules of the game providing modalities which substantially reproduce the real conditions of these simulated casino games.
- FIG. 2 illustrates a roulette card 14 provided, in the upper part, with a hole 14 ′ at the corresponding location of one of the symbols of the third series of symbols 12c in each of the boxes 12.
- the poker cards 15, such as that illustrated in FIG. 3, have two holes 16, at the location corresponding to the two playing card symbols of the first series of symbols 12a in each box, and three playing card symbols 15a placed on either side of the holes 16.
- the player draws a poker card 15 which he can place on a square 12 of the support board, it then appears a combination of five playing card symbols, (three being drawn on the card 15 and two being drawn in the form of the two symbols of the first series of symbols 12a in box 12, these two symbols appearing in the windows 16).
- this combination of five playing cards is then likely to form a winning combination, for example if this combination comprises at least two pairs or if this combination corresponds to the winning combination 17 of the five cards carried by another zone of this poker card 15.
- the present invention is not limited to cards having one or more holes, these holes being able to be replaced by any type of element capable of constituting a window in which it is possible to visualize one of the symbols of the board. when the card is placed on squares 12 of the game board.
- the edge of said hole may belong to the contour of the card, thus forming a notch or the window may consist of a transparent area of the card.
- the card is made of a transparent material, such as a rigid plastic sheet, made opaque with the exception of the location of said window or windows.
- Cards 14, 15, 18, 19 and 20 can be supplemented by a removable cover which cooperates with the window of each card (hole 14 ', 16 or 21), this removable cover being able to hide the window, in a position of closing, and to let the window appear, in a closed position.
- This removable cover can be produced in the form of a flap forming a flap or in the form of a sliding panel on one of the two faces of the card or through the thickness of the latter.
- the cards 14, 15, 18, 19 and 20 have the same shape as the slots 12, namely the shape of a slot machine.
- the assembly according to the present invention is not limited to its application to a board game but can also be used, for example, for educational purposes as an educational game.
