Abstract

A motor vehicle light arrangement includes a light having a first plurality of red light-emitting diodes distributed over the entire area of the light and other pluralities of light-emitting diodes of the same color, which may be red or another color, located in different functional regions of the light to indicate different motor vehicle conditions.

Description

The invention relates to a motor vehicle lamp with at least one functional surface, wherein LEDs of a uniform color as light sources of the motor vehicle lamp are provided.

A motor vehicle lamp is known from German Offenlegungsschrift DE 33 15 785 A1 known in which white or transparent 3-phase light-emitting diodes are used as light sources at least two different luminous colors for different luminous and / or Signal functions which differ according to the desired signal color Voltage application can be controlled. A disadvantage of such Motor vehicle light is, however, that a regulation is required by means of which different voltage application different light or signal functions can be realized. In addition, different parts of the Overall lighting field can be controlled separately, so that special fluorescent colors and / or Signal color luminosities can be generated.

From the German laid-open specification DE 39 16 875 A1, a generic signal light is in particular a multi-chamber signal lamp for motor vehicles known. The signal lamp has several Functional fields on which light-emitting diodes of different colors are provided. So in the field that corresponds to the direction indicator, only yellow LEDs are in the field that corresponds to the tail light or brake light only red LEDs and in the area of the reversing light are provided with red, green and blue LEDs. Out the colors red, green and blue are obtained by additive color mixing Reversing lights assigned color white. In its appearance it is Signal light cannot be distinguished from conventional signal lights with incandescent lamps. Furthermore, each functional area is assigned to a single function, so that when actuated the brake or the direction indicator only the LEDs operated, which are assigned to the respective functional field. The LEDs of the other functional fields remain unused.

Other signal lights with LEDs of different colors are from the German Offenlegungsschriften DE 39 30 214 A1 and DE 42 28 895 A1 are known. Both Signal lights described there become light-emitting diodes of different colors combined, in particular to realize white light for the reversing light. These writings do not provide any particular suggestions for the construction of the lighting device refer to.

The object of the invention is to make it as inexpensive and simple as possible to create built automotive light with LEDs.

The object is achieved by the features of claim 1.

For example, the motor vehicle lamp can have red ones distributed over the entire surface Have light-emitting diodes that are assigned to a tail light function and at least one have a functional area formed as a partial area within the entire area, which are used to indicate different vehicle operating states, for example Braking processes, has a number of additional red LEDs. This way and It is possible to use a motor vehicle lamp with light-emitting diodes with two different ones Train functions as cost-effectively as possible. Those assigned to the tail light function red LEDs are also used for the brake light function. In this way the number of red LEDs is minimized.

Furthermore, the appearance of the lamp is advantageously improved, that is, the brake light shines as a partial surface of the tail light and thus causes one three-dimensional effect. It also makes it possible for that not for that Brake light used areas of the tail light additional functional areas to provide. Light-emitting diodes of others can then be placed on these further functional surfaces Color can be provided. By means of these light-emitting diodes of a different color can then pass through additive color mixing with the red light emitting diodes of the tail light further signal colors be generated. So it is known from German Offenlegungsschrift DE 3916875A1 that the color yellow can be achieved by mixing red and green light. Consequently can be provided by providing additional green LEDs on a functional surface of the Direction indicators can be realized.

In addition, it is possible to use blue and green LEDs on another functional area to complete, so that white light for the Reversing light is accessible.

Light emitting diodes emit a very monochromatic and directional light. To create a harmonious appearance of the automotive lamp can advantageously with a diffuser optics are covered.

If only the tail light is actuated, the entire motor vehicle lamp lights up homogeneously red. When operating additional functions, such as the brake or the Direction indicators or reverse gear, then glow from the homogeneous glowing motor vehicle light by pressing the additional LEDs Brake light, the direction indicator or the reversing light with a 3-dimensional Effect as these additional functions due to the additional LEDs have an increased light intensity.

Figur:
Kraftfahrzeugleuchte mit darin angeordneten Leuchtdioden.
The invention is explained in more detail below using an exemplary embodiment. The only figure shows:
Figure:
Motor vehicle lamp with LEDs arranged therein.

In the figure, a motor vehicle lamp 2 is arranged in a motor vehicle 1 detect. The motor vehicle lamp 2 has red light-emitting diodes 3 over its entire surface on. When the tail light is actuated, the red LEDs 3 light up and give the Motor vehicle lamp 2 thus a harmonious red appearance.

In addition, the motor vehicle lamp 2 has red light-emitting diodes 5 on one as a partial area Functional area designed for identification within the entire area different vehicle operating conditions. For example, that would be conceivable Realization of the brake light by means of the additional light-emitting diodes or, for example, in the USA also the flashing light.

A surface of increased light intensity is thus created by means of the red light-emitting diodes 5. If the brake is actuated when the tail light is switched on, the brake light illuminates the tail light and thereby creates a three-dimensional effect. In advantageous The red LEDs 3, which are already illuminated, are used here to achieve the required To achieve light intensity for the brake light. In addition, are on the vehicle lamp 2 green LEDs 6 are provided. Through the green LEDs 6 and the red Light-emitting diodes 3 are obtained from yellow light by additive color mixing. The Reversing light is advantageously created in that in one area of the direction indicator or blue in an additional area Light-emitting diodes 4 are provided, with the blue 4, green 6 and red 3 LEDs white light can be generated. It would be conceivable for example, the reversing light and the direction indicator on one surface To be provided together, in which case the direction indicator is actuated by the green ones LEDs 6 and the reversing light by actuating the green 6 and the blue 7 LEDs in addition to the existing red LEDs 3 can be implemented would. However, two separate functional fields would also be conceivable, whereby in In this case, fewer blue light-emitting diodes 7 would have to be provided, since these are only for the reversing light must be provided. About the choice of LEDs is only here the book "Components of Optics" by Normann / Schröder, 5th revised edition, published in Karl Hansa Verlag 1987, pages 37-41. LEDs with the the wavelengths calculated accordingly can be readily obtained from retailers.
