Claims (10)
- A tower crane comprising a device for folding or unfolding jib tip elements of said tower crane, the jib (7) comprising a succession of elements (10-14) articulated one to the next about horizontal axes, these elements comprising at least two relatively long main elements (10,12), and at least two relatively short tip elements (13,14), the device including connecting members (27) connecting the front part of the last main jib element (12), the intermediate jib tip element (13) and the end jib tip element (14) in such a manner that the two tip elements (13,14) can be unfolded or folded simultaneously, in a vertical plane, relative to the remaining part of the jib (7), at least one tip element (13) being foldable in a direction approximately perpendicular to the main elements (10,12), characterised in that said device is motorized by the crane's lifting cable (41) and for this purpose comprises an unfolding arm (37) borne by the front part of the last main element (12) of the jib (7), and fitted with a pulley (40) over which the lifting cable (41) is designed to pass during the operations of unfolding or of folding the tip elements (13,14) of the jib (7), the lifting cable (41) being during that time attached to one of said tip elements (13,14).
- The crane as claimed in claim 1, characterised in that the aforementioned connecting members comprise at least one link-rod system (27) located in a vertical plane and connected by articulations about horizontal axes (26,31,35) to, respectively, the two tip elements (14,13) and the front part of the last main element (12) of the jib (7).
- The crane as claimed in claim 2, characterised in that it comprises two symmetric link-rod systems (27), arranged one on each side of the jib (7) in parallel vertical planes.
- The crane as claimed in claim 2 or 3, characterised in that the or each link-rod system (27) comprises a three-point lever (28) articulated by its intermediate point (31) to a top (23) of the intermediate jib tip element (13), a front connecting rod (29) articulated by one end (33) to the front point of the ever (28) and, by its other end (26), to the end element (14) of the jib tip, and a rear connecting rod (30) articulated by one end (34) to the rear point of the lever (28) and, by its other end (35), to the front part of the last main element (12) of the jib (7).
- The crane as claimed in claim 4, characterised in that the lever (28) and one of the connecting rods (29,30), of the or of each link-rod system (27) comprise respective holes (32,36) which come into alignment when the jib tip is in the unfolded position, and which are designed for locking using a pin which immobilizes the lever (28) with respect to this connecting rod and which consequently immobilizes the entire link-rod system (27) in the aligned position.
- The crane as claimed in any of claims 1 to 5, characterised in that the unfolding arm (37) is articulated about a horizontal axis (38) to the front part of the last main element (12) of the jib (7) and includes stop and/or locking means for stopping it in the deployed position of use and in the position in which it is folded up against the main jib element (12).
- The crane as claimed in any of claims 1 to 6, characterised in that for the operations of unfolding or folding the tip element (13,14) of the jib (7), the lifting cable (41) is attached to a shackle at the front end of the end jib element (14).
- The crane as claimed in any of claims 1 to 7, characterised in that, it also comprises a sling (43) fixed to the front part of the end jib tip element (14) and designed to be attached to the rear end of the first main element (10) of the jib (7) when this jib is entirely folded.
- The crane as claimed in any of claims 1 to 8, characterised in that it is furthermore motorized by a ram (21) used for the overall unfolding/folding of the jib (7), particularly a ram (21) associated with an intermediate folding element (11) inserted between two main elements (10,12) of the jib (7), the ram (21) allowing the last main element (12) of the jib (7) to be inclined slightly and raised (arrow F) so as to bring the tip elements (13,14) of the jib (7) clear of the rear end of the jib root (10) and allow these tip elements (13,14) to be unfolded.
- The crane as claimed in any of claims 1 to 9, characterised in that, when the crane is in the folded transport position, with the main element (10,12) of the jib (7) arranged horizontally, the intermediate jib tip element (13) is approximately vertical and points downward, while the end jib tip element (14) is oriented obliquely, and points upward.
