Definitions

  • the present invention relates to electric heaters and more especially the towel radiators.
  • the glass used as construction material for the radiator walls has advantage its pleasant presentation and its thermal qualities including a sufficiently low effusiveness so that hot touching does not cause burning sensations too strong even at the limits than the usual standards impose, and its high emissivity.
  • heaters with accessible walls are made of glass.
  • devices intended for space heating we find for example that described in patent WO9627271 composed of several transparent glazing spaced to promote convection and one of which at less has a transparent heating film.
  • radiators as described for example in the patent DE 4136134 composed of a glass plate on the front, a layer heater, a reflective bottom plate, and a layer for insulation of the any opposite to the support, generally a wall against which the radiator is fixed.
  • heated mirrors that can be used in a bathroom such as that described in patent FR 2,666,475 and comprising a layer reflective.
  • US patent 4052588 describes a heating panel comprising two glass panels between which a heating element is arranged specially cut from metal foil. Glass panels slightly spaced so as not to tighten the heating element are mounted on a support comprising two lateral uprights, said uprights being able to be connected by bars that can be used to support laundry to be dried.
  • the object of the invention below is a towel dryer with glass walls of economical construction such that it allows the use of manufactured elements in large quantities for other applications without requiring heavy specific investments
  • an electric towel radiator intended to be hung on a support wall, comprising a panel heater composed of at least one front panel made of tempered glass the back of which is glued a multilayer plate heating element incorporating a resistive circuit, the external faces of this plate being self-adhesive cold, and a second tempered glass panel glued to the back.
  • This use of a self-adhesive cold heating element allows a very simple manufacturing of the heating panel, requiring no cooking with heavy means such as ovens or ovens.
  • the panel forms a rigid sub-assembly that can be easily manipulated during assembly of the radiator.
  • the multilayer plate heating element preferably comprises a circuit aluminum heater adhering to a first polyethylene terephthalate film (PET), a second PET film being hot bonded using a film polyethylene intermediate on the heating circuit and its first film support, the external faces of the PET films being made cold adhesive by an acrylic film.
  • PET polyethylene terephthalate film
  • the self-adhesive heating element with its PET films and its circuit aluminum has the advantage of being of common manufacture and use, by example for heating ceilings or walls of rooms. Therefore it can be produced economically without new investment, the temperature of operation of the towel radiator being limited to a value lower than softening acrylic.
  • the different layers of plastic and glass are different and more or less dense colors. This allows nuances and combinations that are easy to diversify on devices in the same range for give the desired appearance on the front panel.
  • At least one of the different layers or glass panels includes drawings or traces visible on the front panel and / or is rendered opaque.
  • the glass front panel can be engraved, or receive a serigraphy and / or receive an opaque enamel on the back side.
  • the accessible front face of the first glass panel is coated with a layer having an anti-fouling function.
  • the front panel receives a thin film of epoxy resin, which is less sensitive to fingerprints than glass while remaining translucent.
  • the heating panel is supported by a frame spaced from the wall by a hanging support and has two substantially vertical uprights on which are fixed one or more towel holders.
  • the heating panel is separated from the wall by a few centimeters by a support and power adjusted so that the wall does not receive too much radiation which avoids having to isolate the back of the panel.
  • the two vertical uprights have a groove which receives and protects the edge of the heating panel.
  • the panel is thus immobilized both back and forth and laterally.
  • the fixing of the panel is completed by two pawns which cross partially the vertical uprights perpendicular to the groove and engage in two cells formed in the edges of the heating panel.
  • the frame has two horizontal rules including U-shaped sections receive the upper and lower edges of the heating panel and whose ends are embedded in the uprights.
  • the lower horizontal rule is perforated in the lower part of holes distributed along its length. This arrangement allows the water which could, as a result of projections, run along the panel and infiltrate between the heating panel and the lower ruler.
  • the two uprights are connected by two metal bars to the back of the heating panel on which the wall mount hangs.
  • the towel holder has at least one horizontal bar parallel to the plane of the heating panel and the ends of which join the vertical uprights.
  • the towel dryer has a thermostatic regulation including the control is located in the upper part of the front of the device.
  • a thermostatic regulation including the control is located in the upper part of the front of the device.
  • the towel dryer radiator consists a rectangular heating panel 1, a frame 2 having two uprights 3 and 4 substantially vertical, two rules one upper 5 and one lower 6 and two bars 7 and 8 (fig. 3, 4) connecting the two uprights.
  • Pawns 9 (fig. 6, 7) complete fixing the panel 1 in the frame 2.
  • a wall support 11 (fig. 2) fixed to the wall supports the frame 2.
  • Bars 12 parallel to the panel 1 advantageously offset from each other serve as a towel holder.
  • the bars 12 have their ends curved up to the uprights 3, 4 on which they are fixed.
  • the heating panel 1 is advantageously made up of several layers which are from front to back (fia 4A): a tempered glass 101 with a thickness of approximately 4 to 6 millimeters, a heating element 100 in the form of a complex sheet, and a glass hardened 108 of thickness 4 to 6 millimeters, the heating element 100 successively comprising a sheet of acrylic adhesive 102 of thickness 0.05 to 0.2 millimeters, a film of PET 103 of thickness 0.05 to 0.1 millimeters, an electric heating circuit 104 in aluminum 0.009 thickness 0.012 millimeters adhering to this film, a sheet of adhesive 105 in PE thickness 0.05 to 0.2 millimeters, a second film in PET 106 of thickness 0.05 to 0.1 millimeters, a sheet of acrylic adhesive 107 0.05 to 0.2 millimeters thick.
  • the whole is made integral by adhesion of the glass 101.108 to the acrylic films 102.107 from the cold assembly.
  • the self-adhesive heating element 100 having PET films 103,106 and an aluminum circuit 104 hot-assembled is a current supply, for example the reference TI1205512S2AA from the company Techniba.
  • the first layers of glass 101 and of films 102, 103 have pronounced or non-pronounced shades to combine in order to obtain on the facade various color effects making it possible to simply differentiate different devices from the range and to mask the heating circuit 104. Drawings can also be seen by transparency of the first glass 101 which can also be engraved.
  • the accessible front face made of glass 101 is treated with a fine coating of an epoxy resin so as to make it less sensitive to dirt and particularly to fingerprints. This is particularly useful if the face has a sanded appearance to suppress shine, this finish being very sensitive to dirt.
  • the heating panel 1 is held laterally in the grooves of the uprights 3 and 4 of frame 2. These grooves are visible in the partial section views 5 to 7. Pawns 9 partially cross the uprights 3 and 4 to engage in a corresponding cell 15 of panel 1 as can be seen in FIG. 6, this which immobilizes the panel 1 vertically.
  • An equivalent solution is indicated in Figure 7 where the pin 9 is replaced by a rise 9 of the groove bottom.
  • Panel 1 is protected on its edge at the top by a ruler metal 5 whose U-shaped section allows its fitting on the edge of the panel.
  • the same protection is provided at the bottom of panel 1 by a rule 6.
  • the rules 5 and 6 are embedded in the amounts 3 and 4 by their ends as the shows figure 5 where the parts are represented in the position they occupy just before embedding.
  • the lower rule 6 of which the branches of the U-section are at the top is perforated with several holes distributed along its length in the lower part so as to evacuate the water which would come to trickle down along panel 1 and seep into the ruler.
  • the closing of the frame 2 constituted by the amounts 3, 4 and the rules 5, 6 is made final by metal bars 7, 8 connecting the two uprights 3, 4. These bars 7, 8 are also used for hanging the towel dryer on the wall mount 11.
  • a regulation box 13 placed at the top and at the rear of the device makes it possible to adjust the device by acting on controls 14 passing through panel 1.
  • the support 11 of the towel dryer moves it away from its support wall by a few centimeters and the power density of the heating panel is adjusted so that the radiation received by the support wall is not excessive.
