Abstract

There is free space between the door skin surface and the handle in the closed position. Flexible clips are fitted to the door skin above and below the handle. The gap is closed off by a flexible covering clip should the door skin be deformed so the lock is not released.

Description

The invention relates to a handle arrangement for a vehicle door, with a movably arranged on an outer skin of the vehicle door Handlebar with a lock release element Door lock is in operative connection, with the handle by means of at least one contact surface in its rest position supports a corresponding support section of the outer skin.

Such a handle arrangement is for side doors of passenger cars well known. The handle assembly has a handle on that at one end on a corresponding bearing arrangement swiveling in the area of the outer skin of the vehicle door is stored and with its other end a lock release lever to activate the door lock. At a Pull out the handle from the outer skin to the outside the handlebar swivels around its bearing point and actuates the Lock release lever, which opens the vehicle door can. The handlebar is supported by a support surface in its rest position on a corresponding support section the outer skin, especially in the area of its Lock release lever actuating end. In the event of a vehicle collision and a corresponding deformation of the side door Deformations of the outer skin occur, which lead to a lifting of the Door handle can cause, causing accidental triggering can follow the door lock.

The object of the invention is a handle arrangement of the beginning mentioned type to create the risk of triggering the door lock reduced when the vehicle door is deformed.

This object is achieved in that the handle in the area of the at least one contact surface in sections with a Exposure is provided which is a distance in the rest position the support surface to the support section defined. By the invention Solution will be the actual contact surface of the Handlebar on the support section of the outer skin reduced. Thereby there is also the risk that the handlebars at a corresponding Deformation of the vehicle door and thus the outer skin is pushed away from the outside, reduced. The invention is based on from the knowledge that decisive for the cases of the unintended Triggering the door lock to attack the deformed Outer skin on the at least one support surface of the handle bar was. By actually reducing the size in the rest position the outer skin can rest on the support section Deform without the handlebar in contrast to a handlebar of a correspondingly wide contact surface is moved. The distance formed by the exposure a portion of the support surface of the handle to the support section over part of the original contact surface enables the outer skin to deform in any case far until this distance has been overcome without any movement of the handlebar. The feature that the bearing surface only is partially exposed insist that the handlebar is still supported must be ensured on the outer skin. However, it would be possible the handlebar in the area of its with the lock release element end to be fully exposed, so that there is no longer any contact surface at this end. Instead, a support surface would have to be in the area of the swivel bearing at the other end or elsewhere on the handle be enlarged accordingly to provide secure support for the To reach the handlebar in the rest position. The usability Her more advantageous solution, however, is the solution in in any case despite the provision of exposure in each support area to leave a remaining contact surface. As Vehicle door can be a side door and / or a rear door Motor vehicle, in particular a passenger car, is provided his.

In an embodiment of the invention, the exposure is in the rest position enclosed by a flexible cover lip. Through the Cover lip is the distance formed by the exposure between the bearing surface of the handlebar and the support section covers the outer skin in the rest position, which leads to one gives a visually appealing impression and the other the penetration of water and dirt into the interior of the vehicle door at the level of the handlebar's passage through the outer skin is at least largely avoided.

In a further embodiment of the invention, the exposure is on a lower half - related to the built-in functional position - The handlebar provided. This configuration bears the knowledge that in the event of a vehicle collision Passenger car, especially the one below the handle arrangement area of the outer skin of the vehicle door strong is deformed, so that a remaining contact surface above the middle of the handle bar does not pose a great danger from a Deformation of the outer skin to trigger the door lock.

A side door of a passenger car basically shows known manner as an outer shell 1 serving as an outer shell an inner shell, which are firmly connected. The Side door is usually by means of a hinge arrangement, which is on a front forehead area - on the normal direction of travel upholstered - the side door is swivel-mounted a self-supporting bodyshell structure of the body of the passenger car arranged. The opposite, back Front edge of the side door is provided with a door lock that in a manner known per se with a pipe construction side in the door cutout fixed lock bolt or bracket interacts. At closed side door is the door lock by means of a handle arrangement 3 unlockable on the side door, that on the outer skin 1 in the area of an inwardly curved recessed grip 2 is. The handle arrangement 3 has one within certain limits pivotally arranged handle 4 on the opening the side door from its rest position shown in FIGS. 1 to 3 positioned pullable away from the outer skin 1 is. The handle arrangement 3 also has a housing section 5 on that for receiving a not shown Lock cylinder serves. The external handle 4 is on one Bearing bracket 7 held on an inside of the trough 2nd the outer skin 1 (Fig. 2) is fixed. The bracket 7 has a bearing pin 8 on which the handle 4 is pivotable is stored. For this purpose, the handle bar 4 has on its front End region 10 a bearing extension penetrating the outer skin 1 9, which engages around the journal 8.

The handle 4 is also on his - seen in the direction of travel - Rear end area 11 with a likewise inside the side door protruding actuating web 12 provided one Lock actuation lever 13 of the door lock engages behind. The actuation bridge 12 is also held by a bracket 7 Return spring 14, which is designed as a leg spring, such acts on the handle 4 against in its rest position the outer skin 1 is pressed.

For this purpose, the handle 4 is provided both at its rear end region 11 and at its front end region 10 for support with respect to the trough 2 of the outer skin 1 with a corresponding contact surface which in the rest position of the handle 4 rests on an associated support section on the outer skin 1 . Relevant for the support of the handle 4 is in particular a corresponding contact surface on the rear end region 11, since the handle 4 is secured at its front end 10 anyway via the pivot bearing relative to the outer skin 1. The support surface of the handle 4 at the rear end region 11 facing the outer skin 1 and thus towards the recess 2, which is also referred to as the support surface, is, as can be seen from FIG. 3, in the rest position of the handle 4 only in the area of the upper half of the End region 11 on the outside of the trough 2, which forms a support section. Below a horizontal central longitudinal plane M 1 of the handle 4, the surface of the end area 11 facing the trough is designed such that in the rest position there is a gap-like exposure 15 between the trough 2 and the handle 4 at the level of the end area 11. The exposure 15 is formed in that the support surface of the end region 11 facing the trough 2 and thus the supporting section of the outer skin 1 below the central longitudinal plane M 1 is not curved corresponding to a central radius of the trough 2, but rather at an angular offset thereto. This results in a gap which begins approximately at the level of the central longitudinal plane M 1 and which widens continuously downward (FIG. 3). The dash-dotted line in FIG. 4, which is provided with the reference symbol M 2 , represents a parallel to a center radius line of the exposure 15.

To prevent that formed by the exposure 15 Gap in the rest position of the handle 4 between its support surface and the trough 2 is visible, is a circumferential flexible cover lip 6 is provided, the edge of a no closer designated thin rubber washer ring, which around the Passage for the actuating web 12 on the outside of the trough 2 rests and the support section for the handle 4 on the rear End region 11 forms. The cover lip 6 is in one piece this ring disc is formed and protrudes from the trough 2 to the outside from.

As can be seen from FIG. 4, when there is a deformation the outer skin 1 including the trough 2 due to a no deformation forces corresponding to the vehicle impact the handle 4 forwarded because the trough 2 by the exposure 15 are deformed towards the handle 4 and shifted can, without corresponding forces being transferred to the handlebar be, which cause an outward pressing of the handle 4 would. If exposure 15 were not present, would the trough 2 and thus the outer skin 1 already become essential corresponding earlier at the beginning of a deformation Compressive forces on the handle 4 in the vehicle transverse direction Exercise outwards, whereby the handle 4 under possible Operation of the lock release lever 13 pressed outwards would. The exposure 15 thus prevents such a load the handle 4 reliably.
